From NBC5 @ 10pm:

.....possibility of 2nd suspect has neighbors still scared......

I am guessing if second suspect exists, he/she was more of an accomplice after the fact.

I'd also imagine he's not in any condition to send her away. Either he's so critical that she can't be there or deceased or under such heavy guard that she is only allowed short visits...IMO

if he was in jail would she be allowed visits yet?

News preview just said there is brand new breaking info and investigation may be far from over.....alluded to 2nd suspect (sorry, can't remember exact words).

Of course, I'll post the highlights.

Oh, no.

I am having really bad vibes on this now.

It was horrific enough today, now there may indeed be at least 1 more suspect, as LE has alluded to all along.

From NBC5 @ 10pm:

"LE sources are actively looking for at least 1 more suspect because his car never left driveway.....so how did her body get mile & a half away?"

Hmm, where did I just read similar words?!

Det. Charles Lodatto was shot in the groin area while assisting authorities at about 9 a.m. Tuesday in the doorway of 17-year-old Tyler Holder's home, authorities said. According to a Harris Methodist Hospital doctor, a tourniquet was applied to the detective's wound at the scene, which was something the doctor said likely saved the detective's life.

"Officers engaged the suspect at the door," Chaumont said. "An altercation ensued, the suspect produced the weapon and shots were fired."
A neighbor said she heard three shots fired.

From NBC5 @ 10pm:

...bullet may have gone through Holder's chin and missed his brain.....

RBBM: That's assuming he has one. :furious: I loathe people who hurt children.

IMO, not until after he was arraigned and depending on what the visitation schedule is at the jail.

I'm sorry to be so snarky about MSM, it's probably because I've been following the case all day, but:

Is there any chance the "major new development since 6pm" equals "we read the arrest warrant and figured out the same stuff websleuthers did eight hours ago?"

(Sorry if not. It's also sleepy time for me.)

I've read many posts (from FB) that he's dead. I admit, part of me hopes he is, but the other part hopes he lives to be 105: cold, lonely & miserable. Death is too easy for people like him. Moo

I think the 'found 'dead' part comes from googling his name and then the results are reading that he was a suspect for the 6 year old girl 'found dead'.

These headlines are so misleading.

Regarding the mom and the hospital, is this strictly from that quote from the mom, or was it reported somewhere else?

It's possible that she was advised to leave due to danger to herself from others....it's obvious people are very upset and it could be a risk/police distraction for her to be there and they advised her to leave. I could see the mother taking that as being ordered off...

But I would expect she would be cared for by a counsellor/social worker somewhere in the hospital. Not asked to leave the hospital.

I am sure Mom is very upset. If her son had died, the hospital would have offered her chaplain services. Basically, her son is in prison right now. He has been arrested and is in police custody. The same rules apply as if he were in jail.

If Mom needs counseling, she will have to ask for it. I'm sure there are services available for her. Sad situation.

The police have to be very careful with anyone who knows the perp. I am sure there will be interviews of all family members, including the Mom.

Saginaw case took hard work — and help from Opal’s memory

Tyler Holder was more dangerous than anyone thought.

Had officers expected gunfire from a 17-year-old described as a misfit and neighborhood troublemaker, I imagine they would have brought a special tactics team to his Saginaw home Tuesday.

Instead, we can be very grateful today for courageous officers who knock on doors without knowing who or what lies behind them, and pray for the recovery of Arlington Detective Charles Lodatto.

Since DNA results came back Saturday, police say, Holder has been the top suspect in the death of Alanna Gallagher, 6.

Another neighbor said a silver or gray tarp had been used to cover wood in the Holders’ back yard, next door to where she had been seen playing that day. Alanna was found raped, smothered and wrapped in a silver tarp.

On Monday night, that neighbor said, an FBI agent called to double-check about the tarp.

Thank you for that info, it does make a difference. Jmo, because of the way the officer was shot (leg and bullet lodged in hip, upward) had wondered if Holder was being taken to the ground which would explain Holder being shot in the chin.

whoa, that is unreal, really?

They never did give an explanation for why she wasn't told where he was or what his condition was (possibly because of privacy, but I doubt it.) Once she knew where he was, they told her that they don't allow visitors in a jail/prison ward, and later she wasn't allowed to see him in jail at first because he was on a suicide watch. She thinks it was just because they were being jerks, but who knows?
