"We do appreciate the community's support and any help they could provide the police," Miles McDaniel, Alanna's biological father, said.
Sorry I do not know how to highlight a specific quote, but in this article it says that there was a garbage bag found underneath her.
That is apparently different than the tarp and the garbage bag she was in and the bag over her head.
Ugh. Typing this really blasts out at the craziness of it all!

Neighbors told TV news reporters that Alanna’s body, found under a tarp, was naked with her hands and feet bound and a bag over her head. A plastic bag was found under the tarp, police said.
Funeral plans expected to be announced later today for 6 yr Alanna. There are no arrests in the case. People in Saginaw are wearing purple ribbons. wfaa.com Channel 8 , broadcast.
That was all, a blip really. When news doesn't keep a story fresh, people begin to forget OR worse they feel it must have been resolved/ solved, etc.
If no arrest by Thursday I feel certain the police will have a prescence at her funeral. I wonder if the perp will be there.

Do you report your children missing the moment they aren't where they are supposed to be?
Thank God I haven't had this experience (yet), but when the day surely arrives that they aren't where they said they would be I expect I may go looking myself first (as KG did), make some calls...... He was out looking when he stopped the officer himself.
I may end up being wrong here, and I don't think I'd let my 6 year old roam the hood unsupervised, but we really don't know the circumstances here.
I do wonder when and where her clothes will be found.
Could be kept by the perp as a "momento."
FWIW... in my experience... Though great with photos... And stories behind events... The DailyMail doesn't always have the specific details correct...Welcome to Websleuths!
Neighbors said her father started looking for her about 9pm Tuesday - an hour and a half after he body was found. They recalled him going door-to-door asking if anyone had seen his daughter.

About 9.15pm, Mr Janus said he saw Alanna's father walk over to two police cruisers that had parked on his street. He believes that is when the parents reported their young daughter missing.
bbm
there is a picture of the intersection that shows the tarp and where it is located
Sorry if this has been covered already, but if you watch the video, there is a first-hand description, which says a bag was on her head and red tape was around the bag "like it was sealed" at 2:55 or so.
Also, there is video of the search warrant list that you can at least partly read. It includes 4 vacuumings and a 4-pack of Charmin ultra soft. And red tape, as has been the topic of discussion.
