Waiting for any sign of a press conference with dwindling patience. There's GOT to be some news on this investigation. grrrrrrrr.

Sorry I do not know how to highlight a specific quote, but in this article it says that there was a garbage bag found underneath her.

That is apparently different than the tarp and the garbage bag she was in and the bag over her head.

Ugh. Typing this really blasts out at the craziness of it all!

http://www.star-telegram.com/2013/07/03/4980912/911-call-i-think-its-a-little.html

This is another one of those super ambiguous descriptions, as it doesn't really say it was found underneath her:

Neighbors told TV news reporters that Alanna’s body, found under a tarp, was naked with her hands and feet bound and a bag over her head. A plastic bag was found under the tarp, police said.

If it was really underneath everything else, it seems like it would definitely rule out the 'fell off a truck' theory.

Grrr politics leading the local news. I'll wait for anything new on Alanna !

Funeral plans expected to be announced later today for 6 yr Alanna. There are no arrests in the case. People in Saginaw are wearing purple ribbons. wfaa.com Channel 8 , broadcast.
That was all, a blip really. When news doesn't keep a story fresh, people begin to forget OR worse they feel it must have been resolved/ solved, etc.

If no arrest by Thursday I feel certain the police will have a prescence at her funeral. I wonder if the perp will be there.

So frustrating. But I guess LE's not being forthcoming with any new info, either......can't keep reporting same vague info for a week straight and still call it news, I guess.

I guess between Elaina Steinfurth (LE? What LE?) and Tim Bosma (Canadian media gag laws during criminal investigations) I've gotten accustomed to silence. :\

Maybe. I feel like this is some very sick #*€¥ (clearly), and on top of the assault & murder of sweet Alanna......also wanted her found this way. It may be that LE isn't saying more because they know someone is watching this just as closely as we are, and it's a way of extending the satisfaction (ugh) they get from it?

Which really makes me hope they are all over it and not just saying things to create a false sense of security.......

Unless Fox 4 covered it in the first 2 minutes ( late turning it on) they did not even give her a blip.

Do you report your children missing the moment they aren't where they are supposed to be?

Thank God I haven't had this experience (yet), but when the day surely arrives that they aren't where they said they would be I expect I may go looking myself first (as KG did), make some calls...... He was out looking when he stopped the officer himself.

I may end up being wrong here, and I don't think I'd let my 6 year old roam the hood unsupervised, but we really don't know the circumstances here.

Yes. Absolutely yes. My daughter is only a year younger than Alanna and if I couldn't find her within minutes I'd be frantically calling the police. As a parent it's kind of my job to keep track of her at all times though. That's why I'd have to assume AGs family thought she was at a friends house or there was some kind of miscommunication or error in reporting.

I do wonder when and where her clothes will be found.

I agree.... It sounds like this could be a very big part of the equation...

Sorry if this has been covered already, but if you watch the video, there is a first-hand description, which says a bag was on her head and red tape was around the bag "like it was sealed" at 2:55 or so.

Also, there is video of the search warrant list that you can at least partly read. It includes 4 vacuumings and a 4-pack of Charmin ultra soft. And red tape, as has been the topic of discussion.

Welcome to Websleuths!

Neighbors said her father started looking for her about 9pm Tuesday - an hour and a half after he body was found. They recalled him going door-to-door asking if anyone had seen his daughter.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ation-daughters-murder.html?ito=feeds-newsxml

About 9.15pm, Mr Janus said he saw Alanna's father walk over to two police cruisers that had parked on his street. He believes that is when the parents reported their young daughter missing.

bbm

there is a picture of the intersection that shows the tarp and where it is located
FWIW... in my experience... Though great with photos... And stories behind events... The DailyMail doesn't always have the specific details correct...

I remember a report in another article where the father started looking for AG at 8:00 p.m....

I am not certain which, if either, is correct... But there doesn't seem to be an official time stated yet...

I think it's possible that some of the discrepancies in timeline and other observations is because the killer is one of the people who has talked to police and media and given misleading or contradictory information.

@ approximately 3:14 in video, indicates Walmart receipts (pl) included in search warrant list as well.
