You can move in with me. I think my husband is about sick of my new obsession and will be leaving me soon. :o:o

I have a good job and am a hell of a cook. Cleaning? Laundry? Eh, no so much since the kiddos.....I need a wife! You can update me during the day! Win-win!!

I am not sleuthing the parents and certainly am not accusing them, but can someone tell me why LE would search the family home and gather so much evidence when they are not suspecting the parents? I think I might be missing something here and am just asking.
TIA

A few reasons why LE would search the families home besides suspecting them have been mentioned:

1) To distinguish between things one would expect to find on her from things which could point to the killer (assuming the killer is outside the home) e.g., the family cat's hair

2) To support the parent's innocence. Imagine if it got to trial and much of the evidence was circumstantial. The defence team could have a field day trying to argue that the family did it, and so the prosecution needs the evidence that refutes that.

3) To find out as much about Alanna and her families daily life to point to possible suspects, i.e. who know the family in some capacity

4) Since statistically it is usually a family member, my understanding is that standard practice is to start with family and move on from there. We saw it happen in Melbourne recently in the Jill Meagher case. Her husband was investigated and cleared in days. Lots of people were pointing the finger at him and it turned out to be a random stranger.

What list, Human? Is this what you need for your office? jk

But what list are you talking about?

:( I have a bad feeling about this.

IMO, I really wouldn't read too much into the search of the family home. As Macon said in the article quoted above, any investigation is going to thoroughly investigate those closest to the victim, exculde them as suspects if they can, and move outward from there.

It looks to me that this is exactly what they are doing.

He was questioned and thinks it was to compare his story to those of his wife and Karl. He said he saw Alanna (did not say what time) who went to play with a friend.

LE said they took restraints because she was taped.

That makes no sense whatsoever.

Or are they thinking this perp is so tiny and weak s/he would have to restrain a child to tape her?

They asked on the warrant for things that can restrain. Why?

I think it's possible that Alanna had indications of restraints being used on her, perhaps underneath the tape, or maybe even older marks unrelated to her murder.

WS is giving me problems.

I've been watching Fox4 and nothing about Alanna. Did I miss it!? I didn't tune in until about 9:05, so aggravated if I missed it.

He also said that everyone who knew the family were aware that there were three parents...from the school to the church to the dojo (taekwondo or karate studio).

He was very soft spoken and appeared to be looking at one of the other reporters.

There was also a list of items taken from the house and some were not mentioned in the SW, I believe. I can't remember the items now, sorry. We'll find out later unless someone else remembers what they are.

It was the third story after an update on that wreck that killed those four poor people several weeks ago and all the political stuff going on at the capitol.
