I guess Beth should have held his hand while his child was conceived too. She’s over the top and has a high opinion of herself as well. IMO
I can’t wait for cross!!

Usually, Speech Path works on social skills, ADL activities. Because if you are delayed in speech, you Usually have delays in other areas. So, it is incorporated with Speech.
I know several, they don’t take their students to restaurants and to their homes. It’s unprofessional. IMO

20 years ago….what a pointless waste of time!!
“Young man should have never been in that truck alone”…..I so badly want to slap her!!

"Tanner should have never been in that truck alone."

What? He was supposed to have a school para with him? As an adult? In what universe?
she may as well have said Tanner should never have been left alone unsupervised. As if he is still a small child. A great fun well mannered monster. I cannot believe the judge allowed all this.

Odd. No that is out of scope.

So.... witness testifies that TH's "autism" didn't cause him to commit these crimes (so why is the Defense calling these witnesses?)

But somehow Fed Ex should have predicted it and provided a second adult to babysit TH?

Oh, my gosh. She’s infuriating to me.

This is just all so disrespectful of Athena. She was completely innocent. She didn’t disrupt his routine, she didn’t deserve to be tortured and abused and killed. But that’s what he wanted to do and so he did.

Interesting “her report” is being admitted.

If I were on this jury, I’d certainly be wondering where that doctor’s report is that the defense isn’t admitting.

I wonder how many of these witnesses did not want to testify. And that's why they are being granted the courtesy of first names and blurs.
Good point.

So, that means you can't refuse to testify if called? Not even if you were just the 5th Grade teacher of defendant from way back? Or other witnesses who seemed to not have a lot to say, like professionals who said they might have treated perp in his childhood, but couldn't remember exactly.
Probably dumb question but I genuinely don't know.

Is Blurry Beth chewing gum while on the witness stand? And why does she think it is an appropriate time to be (what she believes to be) witty? She is very disrespectful to Athena and her family and to the court, IMO.

Witnesses can be subpoenaed to testify if they're otherwise reticent.

The comedy bits need to stop.

My God.

we are back, cross beginning. State thanks her for her work with challenged youth.

even in the limited time you knew TH you put a lot of work into him. And this was not unusual for you?

Ya have to, you don't ever want my job, you do the best now. (OMG she is flirting with the judge barf)

so your recollections is from a time that was 25 years ago. Would you agree that he had the capacity to change his behavior?

Yes, not as easily as children not on the autism spectrum.

At some point it is up to him if he continues his good behavior or not? Yes.

Because you said his grandparents (one or both) would at least attend your meetings. Yes, except when we had our little outings.

If you saw anything in that home that was abusive you would have reported it as a mandated reporter right? Yes.

You felt comfortable in the home? Yes, I did.

You taught him a lot about social cues, etc. Yes.

So you are teaching him a lot about how to act out in public and with other people? Yes.

And you do that for children with other challenges right not just those with autism? yes.

He had the capacity to understand and make those right decisions about behavior, what is wrong and what is right? Yes.

given you skills and your training he had the ability to stop what he was doing and examine if it was wrong or right? Yes.

you indicated he improved and was getting there? He sure was.

Is she really testifying as a nonexpert that TH needed a lifelong companion para?

And because he did not have one, he behaved badly? Not his fault?

  • #2,178
are you saying his autism caused him to kidnap and murder this child? Absolutely not.

  • #2,179
OMG witness says, "we lost Athena".

She read that he hit her with the truck.

Now she wonders what the whole thing was about then.

Well if he couldn't be left alone unsupervised as an adult and with his problems, then why wasn't he in live-in psychiatric care? Rhetorical question.
