Defense of course objects to any of these calls coming in because a third party company keeps the records of the calls. and because he cannot vocally identify the other participants in the calls. They object under hearsay. Judge overrules.

Defense also objects and asks for motion in limine about the other participants - if he cannot id those participants he cannot offer an opinion on who Horner was talking to.

Jury is returning now.

Seriously?! Everyone KNOWS jail calls are recorded.

Unless you are an idiot. And those calls can be used in court.

I an barely understand the call.

So basically he took a 7 yr old girl to beat, torture and kill her.
This monster should never see daylight!

Did he really whine to his grandma about his severe hand pain from writing a letter?

Did he cry because he had to mix Christmas?

He is revolting.

Doesn't help they he sounds like StephanSterns.

Hell doesn't want either of them. If hell has a hell --

  • #1,105
Did he just say he could/would kill Kassie?!!!!!

  • #1,106
I cannot listen to him. Ick.

redirect. what effect would a person being SA'd while unconscious or deceased versus a living person leave on teh body.

Lack of visible trauma doesn't mean SA didn't happen.
bbm.
exactly! i think we're all well aware why a grown man would kidnap a little girl. ffs

uggh, had to take a rather involved call and have missed much of these calls. I see a black screen now so assume coverage has paused because we are in territory deemed inappropriate for the livestream. Or maybe a quick afternoon break?

  • #1,109
Are they done for the day?

suddenly stopped in the middle of his jail calls, wonder if they will come back today

"Disgraceful excuse of FedEx driver who abducted and killed Athena Strand, 7,
while delivering her Barbie Christmas present...

as his self-pitying letters to her family are revealed.

A January 2023 letter sent by Horner to Strand's family said:

'I have Asperger's Syndrome.
I don't do well with changes or things that are unpredictable.

When I first started out as a driver at FedEx,
I was given a singular route and that route wouldn't change for a while.

After a bit my employer started making random changes to my route,
adding stuff from other routes so they could make more money.

I don't do well with change,
I can have meltdowns when unexpected changes to my daily routine happens'.

Horner moaned about the impact of his vile crime on his own family in the shocking letter to Strand's loved ones.

'So many people were affected by my breakdown.
Not just your family but mine as well.
You're never going to get to see your baby girl grow up...
now my son is going to grow up without his father and protector',
he wrote.

Horner said he was extremely stressed by not being able to drive the exact same route in his FedEx truck every day,
which he blamed on murdering Strand."

people in the court tv chat said trial is over for the day but I must have missed where they called that. Which is possible I am at work and so not able to watch uninterrupted.

Unless Court TV puts up another Livestream thumbnail I would say court is over for tonight. The livestream ended after about 6 hours and Court TV has not put up another livestream thumbnail for tomorrow as of yet. So I don't know what is going on.

No Zoro on the phone calls.

He wants chapter books.

Again like StephanSterns and his root beer barrels.

What he did to that poor child --

Missed the rest of his deliveries that day, picked them up and delivered them the next day, completely unaffected by the extreme sexual violence he inflicted on an innocent child, a naked child.

Poor child fought so hard to stay alive.

It's really hard to like humanity right now.

What the actual?
I mean is this supposed to be Tanner or Zero writing this letter? Or has he given up on pretending to have D.I.D?
This man's brain is like an overfull rubbish dump and any extra thoughts just spill out either through his mouth or in writing.
Ugh. I’m willing to bet that those letters provided him with some sort of satisfaction, otherwise why bother? Nothing I’ve read from them comes close to sincere thoughts so why write them?

Yeah maybe he thought weasel words could help him in some way but IMO it could just as easily have been a twisted way to focus on and relive his murder of Athena. What else does a jailed murderer think about when sitting in a cell day after day? Did writing the letters excite him? Barf.

I despise this man and wish Athena’s loved ones could shove those letters deep down into Horner’s throat. JMO

what I find so unreal is he wrote all these different letter addressed to detectives saying one thing, to our little warrior's family another, I never got to hear or read what the letters to mom grandma and Kassi said but did he not realize that LE would be reading them whether his suicide attempt was successful or not? Like what was the point?

The whole seven letters thing just felt very self indulgent to me and in each of the two I heard, although they told very different versions of events, neither took a single ounce of accountability? Just why?

* Pleads guilty in exchange for nothing.
* Claims Alter ego committed the crime.
* Playing the court and jurors' sympathy with dumb, lying letters
What the heck does this guy and his attorneys have for brains?
