TX - Austin Metcalf - 17 - fatally stabbed at track meet, 2 April 2025

Anthony’s father told The Post this week that his son was “provoked.”

“He was not the aggressor. He was not the one who started it,” Andrew Anthony said.

“Everyone has already made their assumptions about my son, but he’s not what they’re making him out to be,” Andrew Anthony said, adding that his son is an “A-student” who works two jobs.

Anthony’s stepmother, Kala Hayes, told The Post Saturday that the family had hired a PR team but declined to comment further.

4/5/25

He was just the one who ended it…..with a knife.

"The father of slain teen Austin Metcalf said he hoped he could pray with the family of his son’s alleged killer — but wound up feeling “disrespected” when he showed up earlier this week at a press conference organized by the accused slayer’s kin and got thrown out... “They should have pulled me up [to the front] and said, ‘We are so sorry. Our condolences.’ The only thing I would have said was, ‘Okay, can we pray together and show the world we’re united,” he told The Post on Saturday.

After the impromptu appearance, both Metcalf and his ex-wife had police called to their houses in “swatting” pranks, he confirmed to the Post. He also resigned from his real estate job Saturday, fearing for his colleague’s and clients’ safety, he said."

Rbm.
Oh, no .... 😭
The Metcalf's lives are being terrorized and further destroyed, it seems.
As if the murder of their son and Hunter's brother -- wasn't already bad enough.
So sorry for them.
Imo.

KA's Family's Moves.
Where did they live before they moved to Texas?
@Linda7NJ
KA's Father named two cities where the fam lived before Frisco.
IDK if there were other locations besides the ones he mentioned, either before or after.

Per link, KA's Father testified at the hearing.
"Andrew Anthony said then that his son was born in Baton Rouge, La., but that the family moved to North Texas a few years ago for a “better life” and “better opportunities.” He said they briefly lived in Irving before making the move to Frisco." bbm

Cost of Living in Texas? Cost of Living in Frisco, Texas?
Interesting information in this article. Mr. Anthony works as a finance manager at a car dealership, he earns "upwards of $78,000 a year". No savings, they rent a home for $3700 a month.

( how can they pay that much in rent with 3 kids at home?) That is more than half his monthly salary! Interesting to see other peoples finances. We pay less than half that for a mortgage. I thought it was less expensive to live in Texas.

@mickey2942 Thx for your post w link to story about bond hearing, in which KA's Father testified about his employment/fam income & rent.

From ^ post, thinking "Less expensive to live in Texas." Well, depends on the specific area.

DailyMail said the fam lives in a house in Richwoods, a Frisco gated community.
"Homes for sale in Richwoods, Frisco, TX have a median listing home price of $1,250,000..." bbm realtor.com

Some properties currently listed for sale, at ~ $1.1 mil, have, say, 5 bedrooms, 4 baths, 3800-4000 sq ft. interior, & sit on 1/4 acre lots (~ 8000 sq. ft lot). Not mega-mansions.

Per a general cost of living index:
"December 2024 cost of living index in Frisco: 99.3 (near average, U.S. average is 100)"
From city-data.com re Frisco.

Less expensive? It depends on point of reference.
imo

@al66pine it seems to me that there are less expensive places to live in that area, rather than rent for $3,700 a month, on a salary of $78,000 a year. That is more than 50% of earnings going towards rent. The usual standard is 35%.
@mickey2942
Yes, agreeing -
--- $3700/ mo rent payment ($44,000/yr) is higher than the good old, standard 35% guideline.
Employment income, from hearing: "making upwards of $72,000 a year.... sole breadwinner."*
$3700/mo. rent would be waaay more than 50%.
and
--- Seems like there would be less expensive places live in DFW area.

Family w 4 kids, supported by one income, is not so common as it was in baby boomer days.
(Flashes Soc. Sec. card. LOL)

ETA, to correct source/link re income:

What a mess 😒 ~ moo

Two people at Saturday’s protest were arrested, Officer Grant Cottingham, a Frisco police spokesperson, said in a statement. One man was pepper-sprayed by one of the arrestees but declined treatment, the statement said. No other injuries were reported.

I despise what is happening here.

A teenager was savagely murdered at what should have been just another high school sporting event. The murderer brought a knife with him—-so I cannot imagine that he didn’t harbor some violent thoughts, or else why bring a weapon to a track meet?

While I would not personally handle things in the manner that Jeff Metcalf is—-I would not be forgiving——I am disgusted at the abuse his family has received.

They are the family of the victim. Their child was murdered, not mine.

I would never presume to tell a father what he should or should not do or say after his son has been viciously and publicly killed.

IMO the fraudulent justice guy who is propelling the race issue is stirring the pot and fleecing the public.

It’s upside-down that the Metcalf family is being treated like they are the guilty party.

But I cannot judge Jeff Metcalf for doing whatever brings him some measure of solace.

I remember looking at Karmelo Anthony's Instagram account, I don't see it now. It had pictures of several colleges that were offering him football scholarships.

I wonder if those are going to be withdrawn. KA didn't do himself any favors that day. He demonstrated a lot of pent up rage. He wanted to kill someone.

"The father of slain teen Austin Metcalf shared a gut-wrenching message on Easter Sunday — nearly three weeks after his 17-year-old son was fatally stabbed during a high school track meet. Jeff Metcalf shared the emotional song “Beat You There” by country singer Will Dempsey, which has lyrics that read, “I don’t know why God always takes the good ones first/And man, I’ve tried to be strong and carry on, but damn, this hurts.”

Heartbreaking. May his faith sustain him as he grieves the loss of his son, Austin. It will be a long process, a parent losing a child, keeping Jeff Metcalf in my prayers.

One of the parasites latching on to this beat his girlfriend's two-year-old, and another beat a police officer with a baseball bat.

Why are we letting either of these ghouls re-define reality?

I haven't seen anything indicating the actual murder was about race or politics.

The sentencing won't be about race either - There's unfortunately plenty of precedence of teenagers stabbing each other at school in Texas to give an idea of the typical sentence.
Got links? I'd like to have them publicly outed for who they are.

Maybe it's just me, but IMO showing up at a press conference uninvited, "hoping to pray," being thrown out, and then complaining about what "they should have" done seems like horribly bad judgment.

If he were hoping to pray with the family, it seems to me a better strategy would have been to reach out to them privately and request a public showing of solidarity, faith, and prayer.

ETA: I do understand this man is grieving and therefore may not be acting in his normal rational manner.

No the bad judgement is the parents of the accused hiring a race baiting, baby abusing creep who accuse the innocent father of plotting a crime.
