TX - Austin Metcalf - 17 - fatally stabbed at track meet, 2 April 2025

Yes, his not being a participant coupled with skipping out on school, if true and I suspect it is, definitely pulls things into focus.
I will backread to see if I can find it but has it been substantiated that KA was NOT a participant at that meet? Because my research shows he is on his school's team, and my understanding was that his team was participating that day, even if he himself was not scheduled in any of the races or events. TIA

I guess he could say he wanted to support his teammates or something. It would be interesting to see what his actions were that day; who did he talk to, where did he hangout. Did he stay with his school's team most of the time?
It does certainly hurt his self defense claim that he went there, not to compete and took a knife. The prosecution will use that tell the jury that KA went there looking for trouble.
Bbm.
It sure appears that way.... gee, ya think ???

Karmelo may have been a lost cause even before he chose to murder someone.

And tbh , I'm doubting his having that grade point average.
Imo.

Yes, all this information was given to us from a very reliable source close to the investigation. However, the school district has chosen not to reply to our questions regarding this information. Therefore, we have pulled the info temporarily in order to allow the school district time to respond accordingly.

jut located this. I wish the district or LE or someone would clarify WHEN the previous suspension took place (how long before the events the day of the stabbing). It had to have been some time before the day of the meet because the above says he was meant to be in school that day and skipped so his suspension had apparently been served already.

IF this information is accurate, he was there looking for trouble. Period.

According to the track & field schedule, KA's team was not participating in the meet when Austin Metcalf was murdered.

maybe I am just obtuse, but what am I looking at? the calendar doesn't even show an event on April 2? But both boys did compete at the March 22nd event at little elm lobo.

You're looking at Centennial High School's (Karmelo Anthony's school) track and field event calendar.
They had an event on 03.27 at Bill Carrico Athletic Complex, TX US then their next event was scheduled for 04.18-19 at University of Texas at Arlington - Maverick Stadium, TX US

According that schedule, Centennial High did not participate in the event on April 2nd.

Turns out this site may not be all that accurate. If you filter down and pull up Austin's school, they also don't have anything on the schedule for April 2nd.

Either way, if KA was the captain of his track team, and if KA was said by LE sources to have been skipping school that day, there's no reason his team would be there and no reason for him to be there either.

The School District can not legally come out with any information, due to FERPA.

What is ferpa here.

That info may come out at trial, the defense sure would want it out there, is it is true (suspension etc) and as KA's dad was questioned during the bail hearing about a previous incident at school... I think it may all come out to be true, IMOO

"At least one of the threats of violence that prompted alleged teen murderer Karmelo Anthony and his family to flee their gated community home was carried out by kids with water guns ...."

"Police records obtained by the Daily Mail show that Anthony's father called 911 last week, when Anthony was still staying there, after teenagers drove by with toy guns...."
"Anthony also told police that the 'play guns' were never pointed at them...."
 🤣

Somehow... this morphed into a valid threat, causing the Anthony's to flee ?
Make it make sense.
Imo.
Omo.
Ha, Waterguns, I am thinking this was linked to the Senior Assassin game, not directed at KA at all...

What is a senior assassin in high school?

Games are started near graduation in the months of either April or May, in which participating students who pay an admission fee are assigned another participating student as a target, who they must "assassinate" or eliminate from the game by squirting them with a water gun, all while being hunted themselves.

I wondered about that, because that is a popular event for upper classmen in my area. the local PDs even post warnings/reminders to have patience and let the kids have fun the week of. I mean sounds as if teens were in the area with squirt guns but nobody in the A family got squirted so I don't really get how that is interpreted as a threat. Especially if area teens participate in this fun senior activity

"Senior Assassin" Games?

"Reception and controversies"
"... Students trying to stealthily eliminate their target, especially at night, have been confused with burglars with real guns, sometimes resulting in police involvement....
" In 2024, two students in suburban Chicago attempting to eliminate their target in a local restaurant had a real gun pulled on them by man with a concealed carry firearm after confusing the situation with a robbery, as the students were using water guns which looked nearly identical to real weapons.

The wiki also gives other examples of LE responses, ending in school evacuation; ppl responding w real firearms; gamers being injured and some killed in crashes while playing in moving vehicles.

Like virtually anything, it's all fun & games until ppl are injured or dead. imo

your post reminded me to go check on the WA teen case where an overzealous off duty security guard decided to go do overwatch in a strip mall parking lot and ended up shooting a teen in the back because he was carrying an airsoft rifle to return it to a sporting goods store.

I hadn't read about the cases you mentioned. Around here it is a known practice for a week you are liable to see teens "assassinating" one another. Nobody thinks a thing of it, but ours happens during spring break so no chance of school interruption/evacuation and everyone in my area finds it amusing to watch the kids enjoy such water fun.

If you're not scheduled for an event you usually don't go to the event, in my personal experience.

I've been wondering for some time if KA knew AM through the football league. It sounds like they were both well-known on their teams, and I'm sure that most of the key players in the league knew of each other since they were all hoping to get a scholarship to a good school and team upon graduation. Just a thought, but I do wonder about it.

ETA - And if their teams played against one another, it's possible that they had an encounter on the field?

From all I've read it's been reported they had no previous interactions & didn't know each other. Knew of, maybe, but that's it.

So the question remains... if KA wasn't involved in that track meet through his own school's team, and was supposed to be in class at another school...

What was his reason for ditching class & showing up under a another team's tent, with a lethal weapon in his backpack?

His self-defense claim was already on a very thin ice. This just seems to blow it completely out of the water.
This is a real game changer!!!

So how will his defense team overcome this? IIRC either the Father or one of the mouthpieces, said something to the effect of - just wait until all the facts come out and the truth is told.

Given this bit of news, I’m really curious what they are talking about.

Are you saying a team cannot participate if a captain is absent? There isn’t a second who can stand in?
