TX - Austin Metcalf - 17 - fatally stabbed at track meet, 2 April 2025

Everything about this case makes me sick to stomach. The victim blaming. The killers parents. The “activists”. The crowd funding. Just all of it. And I’m sorry to say but if roles were revered there is no way the killer would have gotten out on bond and if he did they’d be rioting in the streets. I just cannot.

Bet he doesn't crowdsource the funds to do so js
he or the family does have a site... with a substantial amount
my guess is he will tough it out for awhile just because he seems like that type
but probably everybody has a limit IMO

He also asked officers if his actions could be considered self-defense, according to a newly released arrest report.

The report states Anthony also asked the officers, "Is he going to be okay?" And he "asked if what happened could be considered self-defense."

There seems to be so much bad behavior going on nowadays, bullying, aggressiveness toward others? Trying to out do one another. These behaviors are being learned from others, right? The parents (who else) are setting an example or are the parents absent from their lives, maybe the parent is physically there, but not mentally? No support.

People are so into their own issues.

Feel so bad for Austin Metcalf's family. This didnt need to happen, but it did, unfortunately.

ita and echo the sentiments of many other's I'm reading... Bullies learn to bully at home. They also learn impulse control (or lack thereof) at home. It's simple imo, don’t carry deadly weapons if you don’t want deadly things to happen.

I think that we need to be balanced here, and also acknowledge that KA, his parents, and supporters see KA as the victim in this encounter. He was in the tent of the opposing team, we don't know the rest of the story, was he invited? There to get out of the rain?

As far as we know, KA was confronted by AM, and the skirmish escalated quickly. Did KA feel threatened? Did KA feel like he could be at this area?

This will go to a grand jury, there appears to be plenty of witnesses, and video footage.

Let's wait and see. We may not agree with the actions of KA and his family, or even understand them. But, KA's family is supporting their son. That is commendable. They have KA's story. And see this from his point of view.

Respectfully, whatever went on... a knife absolutely didn't belong at a school sporting event, no matter the personal interactive history between the two, nor any provocation by the deceased or his brother.

I'm sorry, I just do not understand the giant brain GAP with those who cannot comprehend and insist upon ignoring the fact that no matter what happened in the tent that KA did not belong in, in the first place, a KNIFE didn't belong in, at, nor anywhere AROUND the vicinity a school sporting event. Nobody has said yet WHY there was a KNIFE that was KA's choice to bring (premeditated) beforehand? Where is that explanation/excuse?

In the police report I attached earlier, police obtained several cellphones with video footage of the encounter. That is going to be interesting to view.

Let's just look at this from the POV of KA's parents.

Believe me, I have seen all kinds of knives at school, Bowie knife, boning knife, pocket knife. The list is endless. Sure, they are "not allowed". But kids have all kinds of stuff in their backpacks. I have even seen those metal stars, from Bruce Lee movies.

He was charged with First Degree Murder. I would bet the evidence collected thus far proves just that.
But…ya never know

Gosh, after watching the "presser" yesterday... tbh.. I don't want to 'look' @ the POV of KA' parents ever again in my life nor their representatives. It's hideous, heinous and irresponsible imo

KA's family have never to this day condemned his actions of MURDER nor expressed empathy towards the family who's child he killed. All that the false pastor and family 'spokesman' says was engineered to stoke racial and social tensions.

This “minister” called Austin Metcalf’s father “disrespectful” for showing up to the press conference. What is truly “disrespectful” is holding a press conference and raising money for a teen who confessed to killing another teen. moo

No. They've made it clear by partnering up with the social activitist dude there's another agenda clearly at play here.

I'm looking at this from what's been reported.
Based on that, KA whipped a knife out of his bag to respond to being told to get lost, he wasn't allowed under the tent he was in (which he 100% already knew, since he wasn't foreign to the track meet protocols.).
He KNEW he wasn't supposed to be there. So his reaction was to whip out a knife & stab another kid in the heart, and then run.

EVERYTHING about this indicates KA knew what he did was wrong. EVERYTHING. And yet he did it anyway.

Interesting information about KA's representation.

I hadn't seen this interview from the day Austin died, sharing in case others haven't either.

The contrast in "parental POV's" is striking. Jeff actually says he feels for Karmelo and the Anthony family, because they too may lose their son if he goes to prison. His words are genuine, not said out of spite or malice.

I hope Jeff is able to maintain his faith throughout this nightmare.

@mickey2942 Thx for the link. Now a quote from the FB page.

"Intro

"To cultivate young leaders driven towards the eradication of social injustice through social, educational, civil, human and community reform..."

I wonder who the "young leader" here, being "driven towards the eradication of social injustice," is.
KA, his Father, his Mother, or _____ ?
