GUILTY TX - Bimal Patel, 29, burned alive, Austin, 17 April 2012

  • #401
I'm watching the Jaws marathon on AMC, it's keeping my brain awake. lol

I have been flipping to Jaws on commercials, but mainly watched "The Following" and this new show on A&E called "Those Who Kill".
Those Who Kill premiered last week and I was totally hooked, if you have a chance, check it out. It is really creepy and well written (and the main characters back story could be a thread on WS, from what I am gleaning so far).

Anyway, I had to get off the PC for a while, my eyes were glazed and my neck was in knots. Saw the tweets that jury went home, so hopefully in the morning we won't have to wait long :).
Have a good night fellow Ws'ers :loveyou:

(And check out Those who Kill, really, it's a good show!)

Didn't see either that she was found wandering the streets, holy smokes.

Had to go find the posts I made with the tweets, because the tweets seem to have "disappeared".
Hopefully it's ok to REpost them-

Judge says missing juror was found on 6th street as an emotionally distressed person last night. #PatelTrial

Wow, that's just spooky.

Just thinking aloud. I'm on a jury panel where clearly the accused is guilty of premeditated murder. Eleven jurors think she is only guilty of lighting a match. That would make me crazy. I might even go down to 6th, get drunk over it and be emotionally disturbed.

'Morning everyone. Let's hope after a good night's sleep they'll all be able to come to an agreement on a fitting sentence for what she did to Bimal, I'd sure hate to see them hang at this point.

Good Morning all!

I agree I hope the juror's can come to an agreement today and early. I am not sure but I believe if they don't the judge sentence's her. At least I think that is what we talked about in the Brandon Daniel trial.

I'm back covering the #PatelTrial today. Jurors found her guilty of arson causing death. Now they're deliberating her sentence.

Nothing new yet.

Looks like they are just getting ready for the 11 AM News. I'm sure the reporter will be mortified when she finds out her story about the party she attended was broadcast live, LOL.

I thought the same thing. I would have never made a good reporter, I don't play with my hair enough. LOL

I had to run to the store, was sure they'd have reached a decision while I was out.

Shannon gave a live party report accidentally? LOL

Bailiff says the jury has a question - what if they are hung on the sentence. #PatelTrial @foxaustin

I hope the judge decides it if that's the case.

I just saw that! WTH! Why can't they compromise?

Hopefully it's not probation vs jail. After that verdict ~~yes I still can't get over not guilty murderer 1:banghead:

Bailiff says attorneys went to lunch. But they haven't ordered lunch for the jury yet. #verdictwatch #pateltrial

Bailiff says defense objected to having their question answered. Jurors will continue working. They haven't been ordered lunch.

So did the judge rule in favor of the defense and not give them an answer? I doubt the judge would give probation and I'm sure the defense doesn't want them to know he'd be doling out the sentence if they can't come to an agreement, seems kinda carpy to keep the jurors in the dark about the truth..in a court of law.
