A walk-thru video shows the trail of blood from his door, down 4 flights of stairs and then to a Refuge? Area, then out the door to where I assume the ambulance was. I don't guess they brought the ambulance onto the 4th level of the parking garage.

It sounds like they were working from this article:

Zadel says residents can access the fourth floor, where Jean lived, only by elevator.

Do we know for sure that they took him by stairs and not the elevator? Sorry if I missed that!

Also, I found this funny/sad/confusing.

"Zadel says she saw officers running on foot toward the two-building apartment complex on the 1200 block of S. Lamar Street, but they were stymied by security locks on an exterior gates.
Zadel says. “I flagged one of them down and I was like, 'Do you guys need to get in the gate?...so they all came running and I let them in this gate right here.”
After helping police officers past the gate, Zadel says she further assisted police through subsequent resident-only gates on their way to the fourth floor."

Snipped by me for clarity. So the police couldn't get into the apartment building without a resident helping, but AG assumed that someone had broken into her place?

Yes, I posted last week on the scanner thread pertaining to a tenant letting in officers and EMT

I don't think they brought the ambulance to the 4th floor either. As I read the article, residents can only access that floor by elevator. And the stairwell would be for emergency use only. I haven't seen a video of the walk through yet, which is why I asked if anyone knew for sure what the route was. If you have a link, I'd appreciate it, thanks!

I haven't read that thread. We will probably need a dedicated forum for BJ soon, so we can post the video links, warrants etc, without having to ask all the time!

No one stated that the ambulance was brought the 4th floor. I posted the Facebook video link, but it was deleted. It did not conform to news media approved websites. It was Facebook live.

watch the walk-thru video, nothing about it gave any appearance when they entered the stairwell it was for emergency purposes and no alarms sounded. I saw no signs and the resident there didn't make any mention of emergency use only.

seems like they walked up there from ground level and via the stairwell...

Not that I read and I'd like to have seen if an ambulance could navigate through all levels of the parking garage.

No one stated that the ambulance was brought the 4th floor.

I live in a gated community and I occasionally get spooked by the thought of an intruder because half the time people follow other cars in or sometimes the gate is broke. We have a key fob that we scan but I have followed behind an ambulance into our complex and I always wondered how but they basically just typed in a few numbers on the keypad and it opened up lol..

Not saying she had a reason to be scared of intruders because in reality, that area is not as dangerous as people make it seem. There's literally a police headquarters right beside the apartments (a few buildings over) and a super nice hotel. But just saying because you stated if it was pretty secure, why would she fear? Lol just pointing out how mine works or doesn't work half the time.

Talking about walk-throughs, what can we gather by looking at that video of inside his apartment? Anything?

Let's assume she really thought that was her place and answer your question; maybe she knew other master keys were out there besides the one maybe she had or was discussed upon her moving in as a cop a month earlier or maybe she knew, as many do, those electronic keys can be programmed DIY.

]But just saying because you stated if it was pretty secure, why would she fear?

Here's what my mindset is and feel free to correct me to why it isn't possible but the rug in his living room is a light color.. if he was shot there, you would think that there would be more blood near it. Maybe not but I tend to think it would .. the cereal is on the ottoman looks like he set it down to answer the door or to look out the door and unless he's laying on clothes on the couch, I can't see him watching tv in the living room. What also confuses me is how quickly this all went down. So she has keys in her hand, but is able to get her gun out of her holster that quickly. I understand they are trained but still .. the thing I worry about the most is the witnesses hearing her shouting "let me in" and then shots. I guarantee they will use that to say that all these witnesses were really hearing her verbal commands. I can almost bet you. Not saying it's right. That's why 911 calls will be important. Also, I know this has been discussed before but do the doors automatically lock like hotel rooms do?

Yes it was, in reply to my previous post. I was replying to this quote here.

ETA: Again, I have not seen the video, or seen a link for it. I tend to skip over sarcastic, snarky comments, so I might have missed it in this thread.

I sure would like to know how well that area is illuminated at night and especially with respect to the direction his window faces because his window blinds were wide open.

Big city lights, how dark could that room really have been even if the door wasn't open allowing light from the hallway to illuminate the room?

That's actually a very smart was to protest if you ask me. At AT&T stadium, Sunday night football. Draw attention to the issues since JJ won't let them, why not do it for them. I would have never thought about that.

"They're so everyone looks the same in photo lineups," John Norton, explained.

For example, if the suspect was wearing a red shirt at the time of the crime, and one of the people in the lineup wears a similar color shirt, victims may choose the wrong suspect based more on the color of the clothing than the facial features.

Why Are Collin County Suspects Wearing Towels?

I guess they give them orange jumpsuits after the mug shot? Otherwise, why not have everyone in an orange jumpsuit?

Wonder if the ambulance that responded was too tall to fit into the lot up to 4th floor? Possible.
