Those would be the door keys
Yes I know but is it customary to have two keys? I’m asking because I’m not familiar to apartment residency.

What if Botham had been hearing impaired? I mean, clearly she would have killed him anyway, as she wasn't taking the time to even get a look at him. But I keep thinking about different factors and it just breaks my heart, and frightens me that there are people who are so careless.

I don't think she was careless, too many discrepancies and conflicting accounts, she knew exactly what she was doing

<modsnipped labeling opinions> On the one hand, they say Amber was careless and not observant, and then on the other hand, they said she planned the whole thing and planted evidence. <modsnipped unnecessary comment>

Sorry, I misunderstood your question. Yes, I've always been issued two keys upon signing a lease. But I was thinking that perhaps one was for his apartment and the other one to hers? It would be interesting to know if they are both his or not.

Snip:
The Texas Rangers got a search warrant for Jean's apartment because after interviewing Guyger, they believed that "a possibility exists that Subject Jean was expecting an unknown visitor" and that a cellphone or laptop may show evidence of that, according to an affidavit.

A return for the warrant shows the Rangers collected an iPhone from the living room. They didn't take Jean's laptop, which they noted was damaged. End Snip.

I swear. I hope these shady folks don’t try to peg him as a drug dealer. I cannot.

IT SERVES HER INTEREST FOR PEOPLE TO BELIEVE SHE WAS SIMPLY CARELESS AND NOT OBSERVANT, there is no reason to believe any story she tells.

Many years difference worth of her self-serving interest... she says, 'ya world....I really had no idea where I was and just knew I was at my home since I was too careless and unobservant to miss every neon billboard that said I wasn't at my home

just charge me with nothing more than manslaughter, I can be out in 5 or less'

Snip:
FOX 4 was told, but cannot independently confirm, that Amber Guyger was also a courtesy officer at the building she lived in. For her presence on property and responsibilities, she would have received reduced rent. It is a common practice for many officers to receive free or reduced rent for living in properties and providing some level of security. End Snip.
Legal expert: Arrest affidavit in Botham Jean shooting is not typical

So was she being “security” when she went up there? Enforcing something?
But now says she didn’t realize it wasn’t her apt??

I think girlfriend is in deep poop

Also- if she is security for the apartments she 100% should know the layout better than most residents. This is ridiculous lol

I think Ms. "Deputy Barney Fife" on steroids, better find a new place to live.

I wouldn't want to be her neighbor!

The problem here is that we don't know the exact interaction and words between the two. dark silhouette approaching. he is not responding to commands. you don't expect him there. you've got all your police gear nearby, you're angered someone is stealing your stuff.

Nor do we know if the door was “ajar”
Or the results of Guyger drug test...
Or why she shot into the dark...(as a trained police officer who may also have been the apartments security..)

I believe the vest is hers isn’t it? She had her vest in her hand from what it read. It was described as “heavy”. Anyone else read that?
Guyger had parked on the fourth floor — instead of the third, law enforcement and Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings have said. The law enforcement official said Guyger told police she had been carrying her heavy protective vest when she arrived at Jean’s apartment. It was in the apartment when first responders came to Jean’s apartment.

Not to worry.

I think she'll be finding herself in an 8x10 condo, rent free, courtesy of the state of Texas, real real soon.

Meals will be provided at no additional charge.

I thought it was stated that the laptop was not taken during the search because it was damaged.
The article posted here today stated they did take it.

The dope out in the open may explain why the commands were ignored...maybe he thought it was a bust
JIm you’re cracking me up tonight.

The amount of weed we are talking about is not an amount anyone is concerned about a “bust” for hahahhaa

If this were the case, then I can understand this explanation. However Jim, there are so many contradictions about how this tragic interaction started. Did she report him for making noise earlier that morning or the day before? Did she get home and he was being noisy and it made her mad? Was he smoking pot and she could smell it through the vent and that made her mad?
Did she demand to be let in, thought he was going to attack and she shot him?
You are right - we don't know. But I think we can agree on one thing - she had no business being there (even *IF* and that is a big IF) she were there by mistake.

We need more information, and hopefully it's forthcoming soon.
Such a sad and tragic event.

It's funny how the conspiracists here can't get their story straight. On the one hand, they say Amber was careless and not observant, and then on the other hand, they said she planned the whole thing and planted evidence. Too rich! Solid cream from the top of the bottle!!

It's because she has given no less than two stories. First she said she used her keys and he came to the door when she couldn't open it. Then, she gave the current story, but I'm sure you know this. In any case, I believe this was premeditated murder. She came home and heard him and went upstairs to confront him about the noise and chose to murder him, thinking she could use this dumb story about getting confused about whose apartment she was in to get away with it.

The list of items found seem strange to me:

Two that really stand out are listed below.
1 black backpack with police equipment and paperwork
1 black ballistic vest with "police" markings

I doubt that most full on known drug dealers have a "ballistic vest with "police" markings" just hanging around their apartment.

Now I'm asking a sincere question here:
How many people here think that there is much of a chance that the police backpack and police vest belong to Mr Jean and if not how did it get in his apartment?

I believe these were her items that she dropped when she entered the apartment, not his
