That is neither here nor there. I have two passports, one is no better than the other. And you are not full American unless you are a native American. Your ancestors are the immigrants that you despise.

BOOM! Ha, you got told. I’m a full American, Jim, Cherokee Nation. You remind me of the little cute scruffy Dog on Mike & Molly who happens to coincidentally be named Jim, too.
I’m in Dallas and IMO stand your ground might help. She was under the assumption she was entering her castle and felt vulnerable due to his size and her being overworked.. A badass attorney might be able to Casey Anthony or OJ this on a technicality and save her. Too bad the knowing each other part was false, that was gonna be so juicy..

If it wasn't her apartment, how did she get in?

It was NOT her apartment, her apartment was on a different floor. There is no IF it wasn't her apartment. IT WAS NOT.

I refuse to begin to victim blame or cast any aspersions on a man who was in his apartment, doing nothing to no one and, by the current law enforcement accounts, was killed by an officer with a gun. I am choosing to note the beauty of this man as recounted by his employer, his family, his college, his neighbors. It makes no sense to have arguments with people about who this man was or what happened... there is no evidence he did anything wrong.

I invite all on this forum to do the same.

Before I go to bed for the night - I'd be interested in knowing what dialogue transpired between Jean and Guyger before she shot him

Jim, with all due respect, could you include a main stream media link to your statements or alert that they are your opinion only. Not sure how reliable your statements are and I've read everything in print so far.

The neighbor earwitness heard scuffling, loud footsteps (an altercation?) … then a gunshot. Ambient noise tells us, self-defense. It is imperative that the word of law enforcement take precedence over all others when it comes to crime investigation.
I haven't read about any scuffling or loud footsteps. Just a voice saying "Open up".
So what's the ' word of law enforcement' that you speak of? I haven't heard anyone in LE or at the PCs defending what she did---just apologizing for what she did.

I believe that she, the cop, was so annoyed and frustrated when her key did not work, that she lost all control of what she had been taught.

Could she hear someone in the apartment? Is she the one who yelled “Open Up”? If so, then we know she had switched from apartment owner to LE. Was she holding her gun out when he opened the door? We don’t know. I agree with everyone else, something else happened that she has conveniently not told.

She was prepared to apprehend this intruder in her apartment. When he opened the door in his underwear, she truly lost it!

The DPD are treating her like she hasn’t done anything wrong! You or I would be in jail! Look at the case in Georgia where the owner of the home killed his invited guest last week. Regardless of the stories he gave police, he was in jail by nightfall. As it should be, private citizen or police officer.

Friends, family & strangers remember victim shot by off-duty DPD officer
UPDATED: SEP 08 2018 11:27PM CDT

Dallas Police officially identified an officer Saturday night, nearly 48 hours after she shot and killed a man in his own apartment, which she reportedly mistook for her own home.

Officer Amber Guyger has not been charged. Dallas Police Chief Reneé Hall announced Saturday morning that the Texas Rangers asked her to hold off on her plans for a manslaughter charge while they investigate the shooting that left 26-year-old Botham Jean dead.

She didn’t “get in.” The tenant, Botham Jean, opened the door to his own apartment that she was trying to get into...and was shot. Her apartment was on the floor below.

Please read the thread and the articles. Then you will understand what we know so far.

You've made your point. Unless you can add factual info backed up with sources, could you please stop? Not any thing that you've stated has been confirmed in the media or by the press conferences. This is a very tragic murder to a beautiful young man with a beautiful family and your comments are feeling so disrepectful.

Jean’s family says they wanted the focus of the vigil to be on the man he was, not the politics or speculation around his death. They chose to memorialize him as the youth pastor, terrific singer, good friend and loving son he was.

Addressing the crowd just two days after her son’s untimely death, Allison Jean shared fond memories, even making the crowd laugh at times.

“Botham never saw color, he never saw race. Botham wanted all of us to unite, to be together,” she said.

True dat! Though I do think that the DPD realizes that there is almost no story that won't have him being killed in cold blood. I think they will just have to rip off the band-aid because this situation is really going to hurt them in the community.

I think it's noteworthy that some cops have a long career in LE and never fire their weapons.

She's shot 2 people in the last 15 months.

She shot the last guy because he was going for another officers taser. Going for an officer's gun I can understand. But a taser? She's lucky she didn't kill him over a taser.

And now this. SMH
