I don't believe that she did a fifteen hour shift. It was reported as 12 hours at first so now they have made it 15 to cover three missing hours.

Snip:
In an arrest affidavit written by The Texas Rangers she tells them "….she saw a large silhouette, drew her fire arm, gave verbal commands that were ignored and she fired her handgun two times."

Randy Blankenbaker is a former Dallas Assistant Chief who just months ago lead the homicide division. "I would have treated this as an officer-involved shooting based on what I read in the arrest affidavit,” said Blankenbaker.

He says Dallas officers are advised to change out of their uniforms before they leave work because if they get involved in an incident in Dallas, they are presumed to be acting as an officer.

"If you are in uniform. If you are in the city and you are giving commands and you use your weapon, you should expect it will be treated as an officer involved shooting,” said Blankenbaker.

Officers are trained to use the least amount of force. “They should only use the amount of force necessary to bring someone into custody,” said Blankenbaker.

But, the department says this case is extremely unusual because Guyger claims she thought she was in her apartment. Texas law allows residents to shoot an intruder.

So, it was classified as a homicide. Former Police Chief David Brown spoke to ABC News.

"From start to where we are now none of the protocols have been applied and it's extremely frustrating to citizens trying to understand what is happening, what is true because so many details and questions have been left unanswered,” said Brown. End Snip:
Questions unanswered about the investigation of Botham Jean shooting

Ok

speculating

if i am following this correctly re noise

it was not her apt

it was her neighbors who complained

so lets say she gets home - obviously they know she is a cop. One of them was up or left a note on her door telling her there was noise upstairs again .

she goes up to address that

but if that is what happened (speculating) why would she make herself look like a fool by letting the world know a cop is not quite sure where she lives?

If I did that in my wild days I would really only tell a few people!!!!

???????????????????????????

Good catch, CARIIS!

So it was other neighbors that complained about the noise from his apt---good to know.

I doubt after working 12-15 hrs she would have gone up to address a noise complaint that other neighbors had or that anyone would expect her to since she was off duty.

ohhhhh

Is somebody deliberately covering up her activities in the 3 hours before the shooting?

That ain't good

I was thinking she was scheduled for a 12 hour shift, but it turned into a 15 hour shift with the arrest and paperwork. That makes the most sense to me.

Lol! Our police work 7.5 hour shifts and anything else is OT.

I think they're going to have to check very carefully who heard what. Someone in what I thought was reported as the next door apartment said they didn't hear anything before the shots. The person returning home on the same floor says they didn't hear anything before the shots.

Someone else heard "Open up" in the way that a police officer would say it. Another person heard "Let me in" along with banging on the door?

Any more reports from different people?

And are they going to release the 911 call?

I have had a door like that and I can't tell you how many times, the thing closed on me when I just went into the courtyard to feed my sloppy eater dog. I had keys buried in the garden in those plastic opaque pill containers.

I bet that some of those people were wearing ear buds. I have a granny flat that I rent out and one day I could smell burning from the flat and went and banged on his door and called out to him and he was gaming with ear thingos . There was smoke and he had not noticed it. I turned the power off before I got his attention, because something was burning and smoking on the stove top.

I wonder if there’s video in the apartment garage, and they can verify that she parked on the fourth floor? If she actually parked on the third floor....
Do those apartments have assigned parking spots? If so, Bo’s car would have been in the slot for his apartment, and she woulda known she was mixed up. Or, did she think he was in her spot and went in a rage to tell him off?
Surely, there would have been video in that garage? Or maybe someone spotted her car? She prolly drove it away the moment she freed up from the EMT’s....

She coulda been the one with the ear buds and on the phone texting....

My thoughts:

1. Why hasn't Amber Guyger issued a public apology? If it was truly an accident, most people usually issue some type of apology, or at least "our thoughts are with the family" type of message?

2. She said she saw a "dark silouette" and ordered the person to raise his hands, yet the lights were off. Well...... a. how would she know if he was or was not raising his hands if the lights were off b. why didn't she TURN THE LIGHTS ON THEN, instead of waiting till after she shot him and called 911 and c. why on earth would he just have been standing in the darkness in his apartment? If someone gets up out of bed he first thing they do is turn on the lights.

3. Is there any chance that Amber Guyger could be required to take a lie detector test?

4. Do you think she will ever speak publicly in an interview...? I suspect not because a deception detector (google eyes for lies) will be able to pull out many clues that show is lying.

5. I just don't get how she didn't notice when walking in the hallway that it was the wrong floor too....?

6. If she really thought a burglar was in there, and she was only in the doorway, wouldn't it have made more sense to just WALK AWAY and call for back up? Why would you immediately shoot...?

7. I mean how did she not know maybe there was a maintenance man in there.... if you're in the doorway and not even in the apt the smart thing would be a. not enter and b. walk/run away.

8. This isn't related, but why did she live in the apartments? I read she had been there a month? Was she recently separated from her husband/boyfriend? I read she'd been on the force for over a four years, if so surely she could have afforded her own home or at least a nice rental home?

9. If she truly thought she was shooting a burglar why aim for the chest? Why not the legs? (I wouldn't shoot at all but I mean why the chest)

Thanks anyone who responds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that is a thought. Not paying attention to where she was.

I think that you make a good point here. I remember that on more than one occasion while I was in college, I accidentally attempted to open the wrong door in my dorm building. I was usually distracted while doing this, or I must admit, slightly under the influence. So I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt on this aspect.

Here’s where I have a problem. Standing in the doorway, she was by no means trapped without recourse. She simply could have backed up, and called 911. This would have been a perfectly safe option, and this innocent man would still be alive.

I wonder if he was singing loudly and that is why banged on the door and yelled.
I bet her dog barks all the time ‘cos she’s gone so many hours, but no one is complaining or barging into her apartment and shooting her.

I wonder if Bo left a note on her door about barking, and it made her fly into a rage? In other words, the noise complaint could have been against her, not him?

I just watched the video where Botham’s lawyer was on television.

How in the he$$ did Guyger call in a noise complaint on him that day IF she had worked a 15 hour shift and was just coming in from work? This does not add up!

Yes, I skipped some posts so this may have been discussed. As soon as I heard it, I thought yep, she has added another lie and this may be the one that hangs her!!
