Because the call is part of an ongoing investigation, and considered evidence, just like a number of other things.

If you research laws and guidelines specific to the investigating agency in this case, you will see that they don't release emergency calls to the public for any reason, ever. How this call reached public ears is not something to be gotten into on this forum since that isn't the purpose of this forum.

Why do people speculate that LE has shown all of their cards and made known to the public everything about what they have found in this case? I'm just asking figuratively.

*Unless specifically indicated, all opinions are my own. *

I understand what you are saying and like I said I wasn't disputing that the call released was or was not the complete original call. It came across to me that you were stating as a fact that you knew the 911 call released was not the complete original call. I didn't want to assume that and that's why I asked specifically why or what brought you to that opinion.

Why do people speculate at all? Usually because there is not enough facts and or clear information available regarding something. However I believe there is a difference between speculating and asking questions.

Why would the Coke County Sheriff dept put Brandon's investigation on hold until they believed there was probable cause?

http://www.bigcountryhomepage.com/s...g-brandon-lawson/20711/dTBqdxlR4kKTnl3rOGb9tg

Its statements like above that cause speculation.

So a fugitive with a warrant can call 911 and say he needs a cop and to hurry and that doesn't warrant probable cause to further investigate and locate the man?

Coke County isn't in charge of this investigation. The Texas Department of Public Safety, Office of the Texas Rangers are the ones making the decisions. This case is not on hold anywhere.

Meanwhile, where is Brandon?

This is my first time reading about Brandon's disappearance. Listening to the 911 call, I am so fearful for him. Whether he had been drinking or not, I think he ran out of gas. He may have been trying to pull over and somehow cut someone off then they got out of their truck and started chasing him. What ever is going on, I think he was running for his life. How scary!!

  • #724
But what has inadvertently been made public is not the entire call, so it's hard for one to make those assumptions in my opinion.

*Unless specifically indicated, all opinions are my own. *

You state this as fact but truthfully we do not know if it is the entire 911 call or not. When it first came out, I sent a PM to Brandon's significant other. She said it WAS the entire 911 call. We REALLY don't know for sure tho.

You have your sources and opinions, and others have theirs, and we can respectfully leave it at that.

I have just read over the three threads, what a sad and mysterious case. Brandon's family must be beside themselves.

I keep running scenarios through my mind, but few work with all the facts that we know so far. The best I can come up with is that Brandon had a fight with his partner, left angry, met up with someone (possibly at Walmart) where something has gone wrong. He has jumped back into his truck, and driven toward Bronte, possibly trying to escape someone he thought might follow him- so not stopping for gas, but trying to make it to the next town. He has run out of gas, called his brother to bring more, then whoever was chasing him caught up with him- then comes the 911 call. When the police arrive at the truck he is not there- but he told the police that himself, in the 911 call- he was being chased through a field. When he spoke to the brother again, with little reception (and possibly trying to be quiet) he said he was in the field- the brother had only spoken to him a little while earlier, with no mention of being chased (because at that time he thought he had lost his chaser?) so it makes sense that the brother jumps to conclusions as to why Brandon was in the field. If he was being chased, then whoever was chasing him would have been in a vehicle- if they caught him, then I am thinking he left the area in the chasers vehicle.

All speculation and my imagination, of course. I dont believe he is hiding- seems silly to call 911 and draw attention to yourself if you are hiding. Hiding from what, anyway? Seems as though Brandon had a bit of a past (as do many), but it sounds like he was making a go of it- he was only young, still lots of time to grow up and make a great go of life. He had a fight with his partner, but if her phone has a stack of missed calls from him on it after the fight it doesn't sound like he considered it a relationship ending fight.

Sorry if I am asking questions that have been answered before, but where did Brandons brother live? Why was he there at the time? It has been stated numerous times on the Find Brandon facebook page that Brandon had moved to his last known address for work, and that they were living away from their families. Not trying to imply anything about Brandons brother, just trying to make conflicting info work for me. There is so much conflicting information in this sad case.

One chapter has dad and Jody hunting a bear that decimated some stock. And low and behold--describing the hunting dogs, she used the word "scaper"!!

That's a good find!

I want to add another "scaper" definition I came across to add to the list. The Urban Dictionary shows:

Scaper
Someone who plays on the internet game RuneScape regularly.

"Example: Barry is such a scaper, he told me how he mined ores last night"
.

I don't know if BL was into role play/gaming at all, but on youtube there's a playlist of runescape videos posted as favorites by "Brandon Lawson"

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=FLBPEpSX9yOZQouIlVYvub2g

I'm not familiar with runescape, but wiki shows it has "over 9.5 million active free accounts and more than 500 thousand paid member accounts"

Of course, 99.9% sure it's a different BL, but I thought I'd list it just in case. IF he played, maybe he recognized someone as a fellow player or "scaper"?

I was thinking about Brandon having a warrant and wondering what type of situation would have to happen for Brandon to actually call the cops for help.

I absouletly believe there is a 2nd person on the 911 call that answers "yes" about needing an ambulance.

I am about 70 percent certain that Brandon says "State troopers"

So exploring the State Trooper route.
I believe I hear Brandon say "there's one car here" and I really wonder if he means there is already 1 State Trooper vehicle on the scene.
The more I think about this the more it makes sense.

Does anyone else hear "he got taken into the woods?"

or chased into the woods. I can't find my headphones to give it a good listen though.

This is all JMO, but I believe in my gut that Brandon is a victim of foul play. I believe it is by someone he knew, either casually or intimately. Intimately for anyone who doesn't know; could be a close friend, relative, etc... It could be a sexual relationship ( though not what I am meaning here necessarily ) , a confidant, someone who he trusted. I believe he trusted the wrong people/persons and something bad happened. Unless someone confesses, or evidence is found, I doubt he will be found. None of the recent searches have found anything. Nothing. It is so very heart-breaking for his children. Someone/s know something. They can not hide the information forever. Eat will eat away at their soul. As it should. Brandon needs to be found and his children deserve peace and justice. MOO!

Where are you Brandon?

My take on the 911 call. (Fresh ears with no bias and all that)

"*Unknown*(I hear "Skyper", but he is slurring his words) just pushed some guys over clear out here going towards Abilene on both sides." (to me this means either there were two cars going opposite directions on the road while he was going toward Abilene. Someone came down the middle and pushed both cars to either side. OR a vehicle wove back and forth over both sides to push another car off the road)

"My truck ran out of gas. There's one car here, got chased to the woods." (There is another car besides his truck there. I got the feeling he and another person got chased into the woods. A guy who owns a truck does NOT call it a car.)

"And when I was talking to him, guy totally ran into him." (Brandon's truck had already run out of gas and he was waiting for his brother. A car got run off the road, Brandon got out to see if the person in the car was OK, and while he was talking to him, the vehicle that ran the car off the road came back and either hit the car, the car's driver or passenger, or all three. Brandon also was injured-hence the bleeding reported to his brother later)

Dispatcher says "Oh you ran into him?" Brandon says "No, the first guy."

That's what I got out of it, anyway.

Very good take on the situation. I have always felt there were at least two more people involved. I never thought about a vehicle swerving and pushing a car off the road. Great take on the 911 call.

This is all speculation, but remember the drug bust a couple of months ago? Maybe he was meeting someone in or outside Bronte to purchase drugs. It has been rumored he was using again and he and LL did get in a fight and he was stressed. It never made any sense to me he was heading to Ft. Worth. He would have taken clothes and filled his pick up with gas before he left.

If he was heading to Bronte to purchase drugs, maybe he thought he had enough gas to get to Bronte and would do his deal, get gas and go back to SA. LL would have calmed down and things would be ok. Could this possibly be a drug deal gone wrong and the other guys have carried Brandon off and he is in another part of the county, not anywhere near where his truck was left.. Just a thought.

I have wondered from the beginning about the drug aspect. I know through research there has been some serious drug problems in SA. And if he did relapse, stress, fighting with LL etc... Anything is possible. I know it was rumored in the beginning that he was on something that night. I am like you and wonder if there could have been a drug deal gone bad. I know some lurkers may think we would look down on him for it, but that is not the case. No one would judge him for that, something happened to him and he needs to be found! And knowing all the facts...IE,.... The good and the bad, helps in finding him. I also think the looming court case and prison time really stressed him out. I think he was trying to get his life together. Someone/s know something. They need to come forward. They don't even have to reveal themselves to give information. Anything so he can be found for his precious children. MOO

I wish we knew exactly where Brandon was when he called for help.
I don't think he was by his truck at all when he called 911 but why would he walk away or get a ride when he knew his brother was on his way?
Brandon said he "was in a field" but he said something "got taken into the woods."
Im wondering if maybe this could be why Brandon says "on both sides."
He was on one side of the road in a field and on the other side of the road someone "got taken into the woods."

I find the possibility Brandon said "state trooper" really disturbing.
Then how he mentions "one car here already" which is an odd detail but seems to make more sense if he says "state trooper" in the beginning.
Thoughts get pretty scary imagining why Brandon would feel the need to call 911 if the state trooper was already there.

Brandon needs to be found.

No, I'm not saying the truck was found by a lighted gate. Looking at google images there is a lighted gate across the highway from where the truck was found if we go by the location attributed to TexSAR. It would seem to me a lighted anything would be a natural spot for a reference if you wanted to be found.

In the attached photo you can see the lights on top of the gate posts. There is an electrically operated gate mechanism there as well. Nearby is what may be a well house.

The image is from February 2013.

Do we know who owns the land?

Not saying this with 100% certainty, but being Texas born and raised as is/was Brandon, the term "state trooper" isn't a commonly used one for describing the DPS officers in the black and whites. You're usually going to hear them referred to as "highway patrol" no matter what division they are in. In Texas, if they are in any kind of black and white, they're the highway patrol. State trooper isn't a commonly used term here, especially for someone raised here. It happens, of course, but it's not the norm.

Hm. Maybe it's different in west vs east Texas? I'm in east Texas and I never hear anyone say 'highway patrol' it's usually just "A trooper" or "The troopers". The term could also be different because some people will try to speak more 'accurately' on a 911/police call verses what they would normally say to a friend. Not intentionally just your brain saying to be more formal. Just a thought.
