HOUSTON, Texas (KWTX) - The Houston Police Department is asking for the public’s help in their search for a missing mother and her son.

Samanda “Sandra” Ramos, 39, and her son, Brandon Ramos, 7, were last seen around 9 p.m. July 20 in the 800 block of E. Rittenhouse Street.

Police said the woman is non-verbal and in a wheelchair.

Ramos is reportedly 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs about 160 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue fedora.

Her son is described as 4 feet tall, weighs about 50 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is to call the HPD missing persons desk at 832-394-1840 or patrol at 713-884-3131.

Wait a second. The mother is non-verbal and in a wheelchair and is missing with her 7-year-old son.

Has she always been non-verbal and in a wheelchair or was her current situation caused by some sort of accident? Who else lives in the home? Because her situation doesn't seem super compatible with raising a 7-year-old by herself but hey, people are very resilient.

Samanda Ramos, 39, and her son Brandon were found Thursday at about 7:30 a.m. when they were seen walking near East Rittenhouse Street.

Police said it has been especially tough to learn why they are wandering, but they described Ramos to be mute. Police tried speaking with the boy but all he was able to tell authorities is that he and his mother had been walking all night.
