lots of trails in the woods at Bear Creek. Follow the vultures. How did the torcher get away? Someone picked him up? Walked? Called Uber?

Reading this it says he was in breach for $125k. Right?

I can't tell what this case, stemming from MAY 3, 2023, was regarding other than a breach of contract is claimed on JUNE 14. Brett goes missing one week later.

Owing a business associate $125k normally would not create a disaster. Certainly $125k is not worth killing over nor worth going to prison over. So, what happened here?

Did I read that the Defendant changed the bank acct as part of the breach? That indicates knowingly changed the bank acct or does it?

Reminds me a bit of Marshal Iwaasa's circumstances. Hopefully they get answers sooner than Marshal's family, still waiting 4 years later.

This June 23, 2023 news article states he was last seen at home.

Wed, June 21:
Brett Detamore, 38, was last seen at his home in West University Place, west of Bellaire.
His new yellow Dodge Ram pickup truck was found burned later that day in Bear Creek Park, about 20 miles away, the West University Place Police Department confirmed.

I am not an auto expert but did study fancy trucks in the Elizabeth Barraza murder. Brett's new special TRX Ram truck sells for about a hundred grand +-.

Great find, thank you.

Brett entered into a Merchant Cash Advance Agreement- in essence sold future receivables valued at $149,900 - purchased by WCG at $100k. On June 6th he defaulted on the agreement, still owing $102k on the orginal amount. Basically he's in breach of contract.

Being a developer is risky business, money isn't cheap anymore and the market is soft. Brett was paying nearly $50k to borrow $100k, that's a big side eye right there. But maybe it was intended to be a bridge loan and he was going to turn it around quickly?

Knowing these details puts a different spin on the case for me.

I’m guessing he went out the back of the house and the ring camera is likely in the front.

With Brett at 6'1" and 220, only a lethal weapon could hold him back. I've looked around in the Bellaire area where his company built million dollar homes. I'm under the impression that he's quite successful.

Why was he out and about at 4:30am? It's not daybreak at 4:30am. West of Bellaire is a Walmart SuperCenter where he could have stopped for something. Evidently he was jumped with some power, and possibly force, almost as soon as he left home, it seems.

"... an unnamed federal agency are also helping with the case.

Detamore, a married father of three, is 6 feet 1 and weighs about 220 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. < >

If you see Detamore or have any information about the case, you're asked to call WUPD at 713-668-0330 or call 911." How unusual is it for the PD to add this: or call 911? Maybe bc it's a small police dept?

I’ve never heard of an “unnamed federal agency” participating. What does this imply and why not name them? DEA?

Yes he was successful for sure. his office was less than 5 minutes from his house in West U. Bear Creek Park makes zero sense except that when someone steals a car...Bear Creek is a known place to leave it or burn it... So, I think he is somewhere near his home around the time 4:30 or 5am in West U...

My husband and I were thinking the same thing… How did somebody get away from that area.

The community around this case is just amazingly active. I am attaching the "Find Brett Detamore" page because it does provide wonderful community sleuthing. This man is very loved.

<modsnip>If someone was stealing that vehicle, probable GPS and anti-theft systems would be too much for even an experienced car thief........ Does seem to be a possible scenario.
But where is Brett?

Why would a successful businessman not make a loan with a bank? Was the family aware that he made a short-term loan with this company? Maybe I'm wrong but the company resembles a payday loan company.

The family must have been aware that Brett was struggling and feared self-harm to activate a search so quickly. I worry about his safety.
