Re-cap so far (from my notes):

  • Investigation intensely underway
  • TES has joined this morning and is currently conducting a search at undisclosed location in Houston area
  • surveillance footage released today - POI seen running from the scene (in Houston area, where vehicle was burned, near I-45 and Enterprise Rd)
  • want public’s assistance in identifying individual running from one of the scenes
    • heavy set hispanic male
  • In response to reporter’s questions:
    • They do not know what father and daughter were doing so far away from their home
    • identified multiple scenes in houston area as well as other areas, can’t detail how that links together
    • not sure if she is out of the country
    • still waiting on info about cell phone, credit card usage, etc
    • No motive at this time, need public’s help with this
    • They have no reason to believe she’s not alive
    • They have filtered through many tips, none have played out
    • No ransom as of yet
    • Father does have prior criminal history in US and elsewhere, can not elaborate
    • Working with Mexican authorities

This thread moves so fast, I don't want to muddle it up with duplicate info, but I was able to watch the presser and took notes if anyone is interested.

LOL, thanks PandaJ. Exactly...I'm always a bit behind.

The surveillance video is super grainy. And Adriana is nowhere to be seen.

Surveillance video they showed:
Man is seen driving the car to a parking spot and then running away from the fire.
The man runs through an alley and then a dark-colored SUV (I think?) picks him up off camera.

Inv says to pay attention to the way he walks, the way he's dressed and his profile since you cannot make out his face in the video.

It really worries me that Adriana wasn't in the video. Maybe she was in the dark-colored SUV that picked up the POI?

Where are you, Adriana?

WOW that happened awful fast - preplanned, timed and coordinated IMO

HUGE FAVOR FOR ONE OF GREAT MAP MAKING MEMBERS.

Can we get a map of the various locations?

That's definitely not me, but just want to note that the scene of the man running away from the car on fire was in Conroe, not Houston. He corrected himself after I had already written it in my notes and then forgot to edit it.

They pointed out that you will not be able to recognize his face in the video and the public should pay close attention to the gait in his walk/jog, the profile and build of his body (appears to be quite heavy set in his belly/chest area), his mannerisms and clothes. They emphasized that it's probably going to take someone who really knows this guy to ID him, so it's important to pay close attention to the smaller details (like his gait, etc.)

It worries me that they are relying on someone who knows this guy personally to come forward to assist them with this investigation. Because, honestly, what are the chances that someone who knows this guy well enough to recognize his gait from a grainy, distorted video would be willing to do that?

Very concerning Father had criminal history in the U.S. and elsewhere. I wonder if the elsewhere is Mexico?

IMO, it will be hard for anyone to ID this man based on his gait or clothing. He appears to be wearing plain colored clothes (what appears to be tan/brown shirt and pants) and he wasn't walking like he normally would be because he's out of breath and kind of staggering around after running through the parking lot. I don't live anywhere near TX (I'm on the east coast), but I could probably name you 10 short, stocky men that I know who walk with a gait exactly like that.

I'm so discouraged!

ITA. I'm just terrified for this girl. These are obviously some very dangerous people.

Adriana wasn't in the pickup truck when he pulled up. She wasn't being dragged down the alley with him in the video.

She was either handed off to someone else previous to this, or she was killed and discarded before he got to that location.

This video is probably the biggest reason why TES has been called in to help search. Adriana doesn't show up in it anywhere.

I don't even want to think it but if this has something to do with Dad's "history" there would be no reason to keep Adriana alive. Oh man this is not looking good.
