Thank you for doing that! I think about Candice and wonder if she will ever find justice for her "disappearance". I have always believed JT knows where she is, and maybe contacting the paper will eventually lead to police contact.

I don't know. It is a Graham police matter. Probably should contact the Young County news reporter following that and ask them. We did several stories around the time but as far as we know there is no new info. I am afraid this is going to have an outcome like Shonda. Hope I am wrong. But you should contact Graham police or the paper there and see what they say. We have no recent info.

Sigh. Did you call? I will also.

I've just read through this thread, and it makes me so sad that nothing seems to have come from LEs investigations. I believe the person she last spoke with that night (whoever that may be... obviously LE aren't in a rush to out them) knows exactly where Candice is. She met up with someone, that's for sure. I agree with other posters that she was not planning on going anywhere with them though, because I think she would have locked the door before leaving, and would NOT have left in her pajamas. This person holds all the clues as to where Candice is now, as they were the last to see her.

Sadly, I don't believe Candice is still with us, but I strongly believe that whoever is to blame needs to be brought to justice. They have taken away a daughter, a mother, a friend, and a grandchild... Not to mention an innocent, unborn child. I honestly don't know how they can live with themselves after causing so much pain to so many people. Reading her mother's pleas absolutely breaks my heart, she needs her darling girl home.

No haven't tried calling yet but did email graham police for a second time and the graham newspaper hasn't returned email yet.

Bumping for Candice..I had my hopes up that i would have heard from the newspaper, police dept or Young County reporter but sadly i haven't.IMO I don't think Candice is still with us,but i do think she deserves to be found.something her mom said i cant get out my thoughts..family member picked Candice up from her first day of work and she told this member of our family that she had been threatened by a co-worker and that she was scared to go back to work, she responded to a question left on Facebook inquiring if she has a new job? Then in which yielded Candice response..yeh and it very stressful and idk how I am going to do this". December 10th at 3:29PM rumors say that her boyfriends ex was the one that threatened her and that she was questioned, but nothing came of it.IMO someone she knew who got her out of the house that night, there is no way i feel like this was a stranger,i feel like it was more of a "lets talk" situation with bf or someone close!this is where i was reading http://missingvoices-factreport.blogspot.com/2012/02/fact-report-candice-shields.html

Bumping for Candice!!

Thanks for all you're doing! It will be almost a year in less than a month. Hopefully some news outlet will do something to remind the public. This is just shocking.

I cant believe the newspaper or LE haven't had the time to write me back, at least something?I am frustrated but I am going to try and contact them again,i pray they don't start thinking i am a stalker or someone strange lol. I know their are people missing that don't get much media exposure, but she was pregnant that's two people where is the urgency to save this unborn child? IMO i think Candice and the baby meet foul play that night i don't think it will end well,I also feel like more than a few people know what happened and by no means was it a stranger that took her,I never like to bash the LE but i can sure say they have not impressed me one bit in their search or concern for Candice!

I just dont understand. How can a young woman just vanish and no media attention whatsoever. Where is she? Who has her baby?

I am not familiar with Texas or this particular area's terrain. But I am familiar with small towns. I can't imagine that are lots and lots of murders of missing young pregnant women. I have to believe this is constantly brought up. According to Wikipedia, Graham is a city in north central Texas. It is the county seat of Young County, and as of the 2010 Census had a population of 8,903. That is not that many people. People in small towns talk. If I were the police I would be interviewing people! Even acquaintances. Does the terrain have many trees or is it more arid and dry like a desert? I see a few lakes nearby. Hate to say it, but could she be in there? Has anyone even searched? I guess someone, someday may stumble upon her. That seems to be the only hope for this case.

Best I can recall, there are a few wooded areas around but generally it's kind of rocky and has some hilly places. Not dry like a desert, but nothing like it is here in east Texas where trees and brush are everywhere.
I never liked the place and always thought people there were strange. It was hard making friends, the kids in school were clannish. Maybe that's my faulty memory, it's been so many years since I was there.

I'm very familiar with the terrain around Graham.

Lots of wooded areas; mostly live oak and mesquite.

JMO, but physical searches would be looking for a needle in a haystack unless there were reasons to search specific areas. That would include the closest lakes -- Possum Kingdom Lake and Lake Graham/Lake Eddleman.

A missing teenager who drowned was recovered from PK last month, but it was known exactly where he disappeared. PK is a very large lake.

Deer hunting season is now open and there are a lot of hunters who have leases in Young County as well as the surrounding counties.

From what I know about Candice's case and what I can surmise by her Facebook friends, I'm going to venture a guess that the Graham PD (and the Young County SO) will continue to have opportunities to talk to people who may or may not have information about her disappearance.

Thanks TxLady2 and Lois Lane for letting us know what this area is like! Looks like if anyone finds her, it will be with the help of Mother Nature or stumbling upon her by accident. Oh and I always forget to ask about wildlife. That is a factor too. I wish there was something more I could do. Keep her in my prayers, with the other missing people tonight :(.

I don't remember much about the wildlife except there seemed to be a lot of rattlesnakes there. People warned us to check the house before we moved in, especially the closets. Rattlesnakes had been known to be curled up on the closet shelf, and they also could crawl up through the bathtub drain. Scared me half to death!!
Is anybody even looking for Candice? Is the family not in touch with the media or LE at all? It's frustrating because there doesn't seem to be any coverage at all since the first few days. What could have happened to her?
