Dang when we filed a petition asking for our grandson to be declared a CINC and to be permanently legally be with us. We already had , had him almost 2 years but had no legal rights if his mother wanted drug money etc. she would threaten to take him every time she was mad. We couldn’t risk that. Anyway CPS was never involved . However we got a lawyer we were required to hire a lawyer to represent the child.

The lawyer for the child came to our house a few times some unannounced. To “visit with the baby” she checked our house which I didn’t expect. But I was glad it meant they were doing the best for him. She even looked through his living space (room) checked out his crib. Opened drawers to see his clothing. Even looked at his toys. Made comments about “learning toys” and age geared toys. Noted they were clean and safe . She even commented that she was very impressed that he had a book shelf with toddler aimed books. clothing for all seasons. She looked briefly in our daughters room. She checked for child locks etc. we have a tall gate mounted to keep the kitchen off limits. But she noted healthy snacks clean kitchen house smoke alarms etc.

We even had to pay for back ground checks. They checked our finances to show that we could afford the child ( not a cps case so no state aide for his care). They asked permission to visit with our dr to make sure we were healthy enough to take on a young child. They visited with our remaining child at home’s pediatrician and even her school. To verify with the dr she had been seen regularly if there were concerns ever. Checked if the school had concerns and her attendance history. Credit checks. We were told we needed drug tests but I have a CDL and had just had one recently. My husband had one for his job just weeks before. But they straight up told us if we would of waited for cps to take him and then do a family placement we wouldn’t of been put through half of this stuff. It honestly was totally overwhelming to be put under basically a microscope. This was all just done by the child’s lawyer to show what was his best interest. I was mind blown that cps wouldn’t of done much more then a walkthrough but often if it’s family they fail to do that.

This totally blows my mind after all we went through that more wasn’t done for the baby.
That’s how it should be and sounds like good reason why CPS should fall under LE agency and not family services which has been mentioned on another thread.

I wonder if they all lived there permanently.

They would need 3 bedrooms for the children. Cedric would require his own room by 2, because he couldn't be in a room with the boys since they are older than 5. (I did some checking, children under 2 can be in the same room with the adults.) So they would need a minimum of 4 bedrooms in the home for the children and adults, and 5 after Cedric turned 2.

This would have been a kinship placement not a foster care placement so there aren't the same rules about bedrooms and beds. Standards are different because it's typically an emergency placement so lots of the usual things like home studies, background checks, # of children in the home ect. are waived. If the child stays there eventually these things will get done so the placement can be permanent. But kinship placements don't get money from the state like foster parents do or depending on the state some kinship placements do get paid but typically only about 1/3rd the rate a foster home would. This is the main reason when I worked in foster care that it was really pushed hard to find a kinship placement for children first because it's better for the states budget. In theory it should be better for the child as well because they are being placed with someone they already know but that's definitely not always the case.

Ugh that just made me so sick. It was started by the dad’s (and aunts) brother and he actually states Cedric was and kidnapped and murdered!

It can and should be reported for fraud.

I've read during severe beatings children will vomit - I wonder if that's what happened to this precious boy? JMO

Exactly! Ball dropped.

Ball is dropped 9x out of 10 we just hear about the ones who are murdered , thing about that and try not to cry!

Idk if it has been mentioned yet, but to those concerned he is using CPR to get away with Cedrick’s likely injuries, his injuries are able to show a medical examiner how long ago they happened. So even if SJ beat Cedrick to death, his exam will likely show that it was not through CPR. Also if he beat the baby to death, he’s probably beaten him before so there would be old injuries similar to the new ones and therefore rule out the CPR take. Don’t you worry. He’ll get his. Justice is not kind to baby killers.

I want to know what the heck happened to him at his mom’s for CPS to think this was a better option.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say there was obviously NO thought put into it !

I agree when I was a child my little brother choked to death , my step mother was briefly arrested because my father apparently did CPR so long there were bruises I don't remember much but they both were cleared after the autopsy but Ive seen tons of stories where they blame CPR and they will be able to tell I hope.

Yep.
Who doesn't call 911?
Someone who knows the child is already dead, or
Someone who doesn't want LE or 911/EMT at the residence, or
Someone who doesn't want LE or 911/EMT to know that the little boy has been temporarily disabled due to the cruelty of the swaddling, or
Someone who doesn't want CPS to know he is living in the house -- and who doesn't want a visit by CPS anytime soon, or
Someone who doesn't want to tangle with LE again since he already has a record.

I'm hoping little Cedric is running around, laughing and having ice cream every now and every day.

Exactly. "I noticed his heart was still beating, so instead of taking him to the hospital, I took him to a dumpster". What a monster. I can't believe this guy was around 7 other kids. That's a really scary thought.

They are all in foster care now so I assume they lived there. But I don’t think they would need 5 bedrooms because the rules for the kids who live there are different for the foster care requirements. I assume it was a 3 bedroom.
I'm going to guess it was a ONE bedroom...jmo

Have to think that would be coming soon. Don’t think she admitted to lying tho. According to This updated article her cell phone showed she was lying.

Aunt's boyfriend arrested in death of 18-month-old Dallas boy found in landfill

From the article you linked:

<snipped by me>"Johnson told detectives the boy started making noise at 12:30 a.m. When he unwrapped the toddler from his swaddle, Cedric started throwing up, court records show.

The man said he performed CPR for at least 30 minutes but Cedric did not wake up. Johnson told police he then took the boy's body to a dumpster in northeast Dallas, where he left the child, the warrant says.

The warrant alleges Johnson injured Cedric "by compressing his airways."<snipped by me>

-----------------------------
C going from "throwing up" to needing CPR is a major change in his health status, IMO, and raises many questions. Wonder if LE has asked him to demonstrate/explain exactly how he determined C needed CPR and how he administered it.

Not that it matters because aunt should have still been aware of what was happening but I think the ketchup incident happened awhile ago and since then BF has been “swaddling” him every night. At least that’s how I read the previously posted articles.
Well...swaddling and killing him - is clearly better than having a ketchup mess...(sarcasm)...jmo

If the symptoms he describes are true my suspicion would be a head injury. However, i’m Not convinced any part of his story is the truth. According to one of the children interviewed per article above, she heard Cedric crying then suddenly stopped. Leads me to believe the BF May have tried to smuther Cedric in an attempt to quiet him and thus “compressing his airway”. MOO

Do any of us really believe this a**hat even knows what "swaddling" is...??? I'm thinking he spun him up in a blanket, fastened it with a belt and threw him on the dirty ground to sleep. Great parenting...jmo

Utterly ridiculous since he's admitted it. What is with these women???
Perplexed by the fact she thinks his dad would but he wouldn’t
