According to the sheriff's office, on Monday, deputies received a report that two people were able to get out of their truck at a flooded low water crossing but one person was inside and did not get out when they lost sight of it in the water. Austin/Travis County EMS and Pflugerville Fire Department were on scene and searched for several hours but could not locate the vehicle or the person inside.

The body of Jonathan Walker, 23, was found inside the truck Tuesday morning.

*LAKE LEWISVILLE UPDATE**
Lake Lewisville has shattered the all-time lake level record. It is now at its highest point ever since the lake was made in 1948. It is now considered to have reached the 100 year floodplain. It is said to be a once in a lifetime event.

Those suckers are tough too. My dogs got out 3 days ago because of the rains actually. I have a very heavy steel gate and beneath it are big rocks to prevent digging under. I guess after so much rain the ground sunk a bit and the rocks sunk a bit and the dogs got out. Anyway, while I was replacing new rocks to the area I got about 10 bites on one side of my foot. Even two days later it was red and hot and feverish. Mean little s****

High water rescue in OK leads to officer shooting . I hope there are more details on this. It's very vague considering.

This reminds me of a local DJ on the morning drive-time of one of Austin's popular stations, after giving the traffic and low flood and accident reports, Friday morning, added another caution. He said also take caution when dealing with people because we are all on edge. I know none of us need a reminder to not assault LE, but I understand this sad incident probably would not have occurred under normal weather conditions.

The Austin area is getting some much needed sunshine today after heavy thunderstorms again yesterday.

We got the sunshine today, too. Hallelujah !
Ok so Trinity River in Dallas is still rising and now Dallas is closing streets so I wonder if they think its' about to spill over? If that's the case, how long might that last?

Taste of the Old West: Hundreds of cattle rescued from the Trinity River
http://www.khou.com/story/news/loca...ttle-rescued-from-the-trinity-river/28278181/
DAYTON, Texas – Flooding in the Trinity River left 500 cattle stranded in rising water.
The rescue efforts began around 7 a.m. Sunday as the water closed in on the cattle. Nearly 1,800 acres of dry land quickly dwindled down to 50 acres, so owner Pat Hencey began to lead them away from the area. Many Dayton locals gathered along Highway 90 to see them go by.

''At the Wimberley Public Library, tables are covered in life's special moments: photographs of smiling babies, weddings, anniversaries and vacations.

"People are bringing them here. We are laying them out and letting them dry so victims of the flood come by when they are able to look through the pictures and claim what's theirs,"'''

So neat :)

I was thinking I post too many things here and feel like I'm over posting . Then I thought if someone sees this in 5 yrs, they'll get a real, detailed taste of how it went all in one spot. So keep posting all you find. This is like a historical documenting of sorts.

Even though I am far away, I am trying to follow what is going on your way, Schmae. Please do keep posting, This is interesting, although a lot of sadness, too. I find this better than watching the televised news, which isn't doing justice to this story here. History in the making, as you said.

Thank you to all who are keeping us updated. Do stay safe my fellow peeps. Take no chances.

We had a lot of rain through the night and most of today. Went for a drive to town about 30 minutes away and I was surprised at how much water is in the farmers' fields and people's yards. Ponds where there is supposed to be dry land. Some minor flooding on roads. It just made me think of how lucky we are compared to you all.

'''With Lake Ray Hubbard and Lake Lavon full and discharging water, residents in western Kaufman County have been warned about possible flooding.
Residents say the East Fork of the Trinity River is usually just 8-feet wide when it passes under Farm-to-Market 3039. On Sunday morning, it stretched close to a half-mile wide.'''
