Waco police are asking for the public's help locating a missing elderly man.

According to police, they are looking for 74-year-old Charles Edward Johnson.

He left the Vantage Apartments at 3001 S. New Road around 4:30 p.m. on Monday. He has not been seen since.

He was last seen wearing a dark gray hoodie and navy blue jogging pants.

Johnson suffers from dementia and may not know his surroundings.

If anyone has any information on Johnson's whereabouts, you are asked to contact police.

Around 6:45 PM, authorities received a call about the discovery. Investigators were not able to identify the body at the scene due to its condition. However, they were able to determine that the body belonged to a man.

“WACO, TX - Waco police say the body found in South Waco Sunday evening has been identified as being that of Jerry Lee Prnka.

His cause of death has not been determined, however police say there are no signs of foul play.

Police voiced thanks for all those who assisted in determining his identity.

Details of Disappearance
Johnson was last seen in Waco, Texas on April 15, 2019. He was at Vantage Apartments in the 3000 block of south New Road at 4:30 p.m., when he told his wife he was going for a walk. He normally walks around his apartment complex. Later in the day, he was seen on surveillance video, walking south in front of Waco Towing in the 5500 block of south University Parks Drive, headed in the direction of Downsville. He has never been heard from again.

Johnson was born and raised in Waco and lived in the southeast Houston area for over forty years, returning to live in Waco just a few years prior to his disappearance. He has wandered away on multiple prior occasions but was always found safe before. His case remains unsolved.
