Meanwhile, a sheriff's detective met with Welborn at the home in the 5200 block of Azle Avenue. According to the arrest-warrant affidavit, Welborn told the detective that he had remained home and slept while his wife and her father went to the store with the baby.

When they got home, he went outside to help bring in the groceries and then heard the baby crying. His wife came outside with Christian "in a panic," the affidavit says, after a 4-year-old boy — Welborn's son with another woman — reportedly had dropped the child on the floor.
The mother also told LE that she witnessed her 4-year-old drop Christian. Dad later changed his story and said he was at home with Christian while the mother and grandfather shopped and had seen nothing wrong with him.

The ME said a fall could not have caused the two skull fractures and a 4-, 6- or 7- year old didn't have the strength to generate such force. The ME also said Christian had been struck at least twice and probably three times.

A CPS worker had visited the home about two hours earlier because of a complaint of neglectful supervision and said Christian was fine at the time. Video also shows that mom and grandfather took another child to the store but not Christian.

So mom tried to cover for dad and blamed her son for the lethal injuries. WTF?? I'll never, ever understand that kind of priority. LE would have had to hold me back from murdering dad - but that's just me... and I suspect most of y'all.

The three other kids have been removed from this toxic home, thank goodness!
