Page 8 of the arrest warrant says most likely blood or saliva, since there is no evidence of blood in the trunk, I guess the swab picked up saliva. But, DNA scientists tend to bend results for the prosecution, so....

I appreciate all of the hard work in realtime Twitter summaries, thank you. There is a long way to go, but it's nice to finally start the trial. The real surprise I see from today, assuming it's not simply a reporters error, is video of 'THEM' leaving.

Christina's parents and step parents stormed out of the courtroom because the judge would not allow them to stay after being sworn in as witnesses, saying after they exited that they'd been disruptive in other pretrial hearings.

I am appalled that the judge would say out loud that the family had been disruptive in other hearings. Why even mention it?

I am appalled that the judge would say out loud that the family had been disruptive in other hearings. Why even mention it?

JNHO from sitting in a couple courtrooms watching a few trials and following cases, the Judge (s) do that to command order in the courtroom. (*a few different twitter accounts said that doors were slammed.) Especially on ones that are high profile or very emotional. You will also sometimes hear it when it comes time for the verdict to be read.

The Judge will advise about no outcries or talking from the gallery. JMHO, you want this to be followed so that something can not be used on appeal example the Judge allowing things to happen against the rights to a fair trial.

IF the family/friends had been disruptive in prior Hearings, the trial is a continuation of all proceedings. JMHO, IF they had been disruptive, that could be one reason that the Judge decided against letting them stay in the courtroom during the trial. * They would be using their prior statements / hearing testimony if any and could impeach them if necessary, if allowed to stay. Disclaimer, have not followed case close so just going to assume that the unable to control emotional factor/disruption is why not allowed to stay in courtroom. It would be very hard for me personally to be in there and not be emotional. JMHO

*in Arron Lewis trial for murder of Beverly Carter, her husband was allowed to stay in and testified as a Def witness. We all know that Casey Anthony parents sat in the courtroom. So again, if they had showed disruption in hearings prior, then the Judge is making his call not to allow it to continue in the trial in front of the jury.
