So her phone was at least last working or on, somewhere near search area? That is all we really know at this point?

And if she's was in waterways, don't forget alligators were in them from all the water overflowing their banks.

Oh, wow. I never even thought of that.

Spent most of my evening catching up on 50 pages of new posts from today....whew!

Perhaps I've missed it in someplace in all of these posts but has anyone else considered that an ex-lover of either the current boyfriend could have wanted her out of the picture? Or the current interest of the ex-husband who wanted her out of the way? Just trying to cover all possible theories....

Yes, he said he had no intention of giving up. He was just trying to point out that the rising water could have pushed her body into some very inaccessible areas that would be hard to navigate.

That is so sad, and I hope he is bluffing for some reason (to make a perp feel comfortable?). I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around the line of thinking on this. So they say it's foul play. That I believe. Yet at the same time they think her body could have washed away in flood waters to the point where she may never be found. However, if this was foul play and planned out by someone using the storm as a cover, the perp took a big chance if they left her body out someplace where it would float away. The perp had to know they could not control the floods or the wind. So then I'm trying to think like a perp. A storm with strong winds and flooding is coming, where do you quickly hide a body where it's not likely to be revealed by the effects of mother nature?

This is very sad on so many levels. I have a fairly strong opinion on "who" caused her disappearance and I think the planning started once they realized the storm was approaching knowing it would be hard to search and find her body.

Yes I read the article, you misquoted her, I was just looking for clarification.

 I copied the quote exactly in the quote box. The text below the link after the BBM was my discussing what she said. Again, apologies for any misunderstanding.

I think if they're going off the cell ping, they're thinking her body was dumped in Goose Creek or whatever it's called. He said the rain caused the waters there to rise about 8 feet if I heard him right.

I can't understand if someone witnessed who parked the car why they wouldn't have gone to LE by now. This case has had tons of publicity and it's hard to believe they would be unaware.

How much of the area is still without power and flooded? Any locals want to update us on the current conditions? I'm thinking many people may not be paying attention to the news if they lost their house or don't have power.

I agree! That plus so many things get trapped under the mud and silt. Plus, all of that water was really swift. I also think even if they do, there will be a really difficult task, possibly to have really good evidence. They may have enough evidence, but it would be difficult. Not IMpossible. Just a lot harder. I also feel that way, about locating her (if she didn't run) she could have washed quite a distance from amy scene. (I so hate typing things like this).

But that's just one of the many reasons I don't trust Yelp. You also have to remember that people are more likely to leave a bad review than a good one.
I don't think that is remotely accurate, that people are more likely to leave a bad review than a good one. Where do you get that from?

I'm hoping he was bluffing too. The sheriff certainly is.

Thinking like a perp, it would definitely make sense to put her somewhere like a creek or river where you KNOW the waters will rise and move her body. It only needs to rain for that to happen, it wouldn't even have to be a hurricane.

I personally think that bridge where her phone pinged would be way too risky. They appear to be searching along (and possibly in) the Cedar Bayou. When the flooding started to get really bad here (in Houston, where I am) there were a number of press conferences with a flood expert (can't remember his name or job title for the life of me) whose entire job centered on accurately predicting the flood danger, from which neighborhoods were at risk, how high the water would get in certain parts of the city, etc. I wonder if they reached out to him. I'm thinking he'd be able to offer a very educated opinion on how Cedar Bayou behaved during the storm.

I'm also thinking that whoever put her there (if she's even there) probably went back at least once to make sure she was gone. I hope there were eyes on the top suspects, but there probably wasn't since LE was strained as it is.

Jmo I can't see Tim Miller saying that she might not be found unless he believes it.

anyone know what prompted BB to ask Crystal if she was happy? I'm curious about the order of thoughts within that dialogue. Like what sentence or words came before 'are you happy'?

This is an intriguing case. In the absence of any really solid facts, I can only speculate.

1. I get a really bad feeling when I read that the missing woman has been separated from her cell phone.

2. I get a really, really, really bad feeling when the missing woman is a mother and she has not contacted her small children.

3. Most women who disappear intentionally pack a bag and take some cash, credit cards, or an ATM card.

4. Most women who are murdered are murdered by someone they know. http://www.vpc.org/press/more-than-1600-women-murdered-by-men-in-one-year-new-study-finds-2/ (I had always heard this, so I Googled for a reference.)

5. Which brings me to my concluding thought, based only on my opinion. Lovely Crystal was murdered and by someone she knew. IMHO.
