Deceased/Not Found TX - Daisja Weaver, 9 mos, Dallas, 8 June 2009 *A. Weaver guilty*

The baby looks small and her head big. She has the "look" of a baby with medical issues but maybe it's the picture and angle.

I watched the mother's interview. I want to believe her but I just do not. Her eyes dart all over the place and her "panic" seems forced to me. It just seems forced at times. I feel bad for saying that, I hope I am wrong.

I'm not sure you get the same impression, but the mom is pretty well spoken for being in panic? (I understood her clearly when she was complaining about the police- she was fairly eloquent.)

JMO!

I have to ask, based on the video just posted:

Daisja's left leg looks muscular, while the right leg (closest to the person's body) looks like it's growth was halted (club foot or something of the like?) Do any of you see the same thing, or am I just not seeing right?

I've watched again and again, and still see the same thing. Forgive me if I'm way off.

For me, the mom covering her face, during the interview also makes me wonder.

Okay now I see the entire body. That child has severe limitations from prematurity IMHO.

Yes the legs are off Boyzmum. I think it has to do with the effects of being a premmie. She must have been born very early and had a lot of problems KWIM?

Definitely! Looks like it could be club foot or some type of muscular flaccidity. Look at the hand on the opposite side, away from the mother. the fingers are stiffed, flexed and overlapping. She can't hold her head up --- it looks to be some type of chromosomal disorder. Oh poor little thing, that breaks my heart!

I thought "club foot" because the right foot appears rather "squarish" and the right leg very much shorter and undeveloped, but that could be my eyes.

They have said that the child has medical issues, have there been any reports to say exactly what anyone should look for? I haven't heard anything about special medication, etc...

I think it's CP..look at the drooping of the eye....my son was premature and has CP

Or severe Cerebral Palsy too. Raising a child with that level of physical disability(ies) even at that age can be exhausting.

I don't know the extent or nature of Daijsa disabilities from premature birth but I can speak from the experience of having a son born at 32-33 weeks gestation.

There could very well be weekly visits to:
1. Physical Therapy
2. Occupational Therapy

In addition to Pediatric appts. and any specialists that may be seeing her on a regular basis.

You also have to do the therapies at home with the child. I can easily see where a young mother might become overwhelmed.

That to me could be motive if the Mother or Father proves to be involved. JMHO

(O/T in case anyone is curious, my son is fine he had no lasting effects physical effects after the first year and caught up cognitively by pre-k, he just graduated HS and is joining the Army soon :))

Does CP halt the growth of one side of the body? I'm not trying to be intrusive, the children I know with CP don't show this particular physical feature of the problem. (Both are affected on one side of their bodies, but growth is the same.)

Bless you and your son, Sooner Fan. :blowkiss:

Oh it could be CP! She definitely has some issues, poor little thing, I just want to hug her.

I wanted to add, I could be seeing things but look at her color- in the face - looks slightly bluish to me....heart defect? Shunting. It's a possibility. Medical issues, whatever they are, do complicate this.

Hydrocephalicy (sp?) can cause an enlarged head and CP. The brain having pressure on it from hydrocephalicy (sp?) has been explained to me that it could be the cause of CP?

I pray that Daisja is found. I want her mom and dad to be innocent in any wrong doing. This just breaks my heart.

Here is a picture of the back side of a complex at Oak Run Apartments. Haven't found any front door pics yet.

picture.php

That appears to be a camera mounted on the building behind the playground in this pic. I wonder if it is and if there are others in the complex. Sorry if this has been asked and answered because I have not caught up yet!

I am highly suspicios of the mother, but that's just me. Hope I am wrong! That is a beautiful baby.

Mystery solved.... I called Oak Run and asked.... Apt 704 and 707 are GROUND floor units!!!!!

Thank you TexasLil!

So maybe mom was misquoted when it was reported she said he jumped from the balcony? I'll have to go find that article again

Just finished catching up on the thread, and the moms story just doesnt make sense to me. I am really frightened of the outcome for this precious baby.

I am afraid for this baby also, busylady. I wonder just how long it had been since anyone other than the mother and dad had seen her. Just because someone says a baby was kidnapped at a certain time does not make it so. JMO

Watching the mother on the video is heartbreaking, but the story she is telling just does not make any sense on any level. Nothing lines up or adds up.

And the childs apparent medical issues really scare me. Above and beyond any fears of any deliberate act by the mother, he poor child is a way to obvious risk for a SIDS or crib death siuation. Especially if she had not been getting the extensive medical treatment that others describe.

My sad fear, (and this is just my opinion based on many of the circumstances I have encountered over the years.), Is that the child possibly passed away as a result of a crib death. The mother paniced and reacted in entirely the wrong direction. Fearful of what they would blame her for and grieving her loss, she disposed of the child, and came up with her story of rape and kidnapping.

More and more I think this one will turn out to be a sad family tragedy.

Just a question that I thought of-

IF the mother made this up, what would that mean from the rape aspect of it that she claims? Couldn't that be found a lie, if she made that up, because she was taken to the hospital that night and I'd assume a rape kit was done. If she wasn't truly raped..there'd be the first hole in her story. And, if she was, then we know that some type of crime obviously took place in that apartment. Wouldn't cops be able to tell whether or not at least part of this story is a lie?
