She was into rock. Guns N' Roses, Whitesnake, Metallica, stuff like that. No NKOTB-and let me tell ya, if she were ever reading here she just may come out of hiding just to make sure everyone knows she didn't like NKOTB lol.

LOL - maybe if we take out full page color ads in all the major cities across the US with a banner "Deanna Merryfield loved NKOTB" - that might do the trick....lol. Your response absolutely tickled me MissieMt. I have a son about the same age as Deanna and have listened to my fair share of Guns N'Roses. Tupac, Metallica, etc.

I saw her myspace it's open not private. I didn't see anything on there about Deanna. I won't post the link here.

Yes you are very correct, there is not a resemblence and there isn't anyway that it is Deanna.

Seriously, I'm not sure if Deanna would have had a way to get $ for a concert. It was a tough time in our family.. Pretty much everyone was struggling.

Jules, I did look at that myspace. It definitely has my interest. I wonder if one of us could friend her and possibly get some info? I don't think coming right out and asking anyone "are you Deanna Merryfield" is gonna work.

L M L Jr. that married a D. Merryfield in Killeen Tx has another wife as of OCT 2002.

A search of Veromi and another ppl database showed a listing of Cortland, NY as a residence which I interpreted as the last residence listed for this gentleman. Just an FYI while we track down the info of this particular D. Merryfield in order to rule her out completely.

I've requested advice from an admin about showing my work here in a screenshot and am awaiting a response.

I can say with relative confidence that the D. Merryfield that we found with a marriage record in Killeen TX is not Missie's Deanna.

From every record that I have researched this morning, from the associated Vanderpool's listed in her possible relatives I have come to the conclusion that this D.M (married in Killeen) was born in PA or possibly from the one other entry of NY.

She may herself have been a soldier assigned to Ft. Hood as none of her relatives have a reference to Killeen in their histories.

Through my research I was able to determine only two other surnames in association with her in addition to her maiden name of Vanderpool.

One of the two is the surname of the man she married in Killeen TX.

The other appears to be her current married name. Which I will not post in this entry but has been mentioned in a previous page.

Hi Kat,

I created a timeline/information as I went through each post - hopefully, I have picked up the most pertinent of information - easier to do finds on a word document than searching through the posts. I will clean it up a bit and then post it here for all to grab a copy for easy reference.

All information is as taken from WS posts and compiled into one document. The very first part of the information was prior to 2007 and then I got a bit wiser and started adding the dates of the postings. This is not a timeline Kat as we have known on other threads but this is a good starting point and a lot of information is available from the previous threads on WS.

Wish it was a bit neater and more organized (like JulesSleuther) - this is all information that I thought was relevant and compiled into one spot and it makes for an easy reference.

As for the associated names for Darcey Sue Vanderpool. I am wondering if Darcey Sue stole Deana's Identity? Just a thought.

Trying to play catch up however just read Kat's theory and think it should be looked into... I was stationed at Ft Hood in 1995 and was there for 3 years. My daughter was born at Darnell. It was an open post at that time meaning that anyone could go on without any kind of id. Some of the Deanna's that Jules found had connections to towns that are very close to military installations. Also something to consider.....she may not have gotten involved with a solider however she may have come to know dependents. The only school's at that time (1995 era--it may be very different today) that were on post were k - 5th grade so it is possible for her to have met someone right around her age that knew someone who went to her school or the school she would have attended that fall.

Also I don't think that it would have been that hard for her, if she had help to get an id, ssn, birth cert, in a different name. Especially if she told of her troubled home life at the time. You can get a lot done with the right help. If there is one thing people in the military do know it is their way around paperwork. This could be an avenue to look down, leave no stones unturned, even if it is a slim chance.

Jules, I don't believe that there is an apartment complex at that address any longer. Also, in the intervening years it has become to be known as a not so nice part of town.

That is neither here nor there. Just an aside.

I'm going to do some digging but at first glance this is the unit that the Soldier named above was assigned at this duty station ~ Fort Hood TX.

It appears that it might be connected with 2nd Armor Division.

The number 1 or 1/62 might be the brigade the soldier was assigned to within the Division. The C is for the company the soldier served with while living at that apartment.

I will do some work, it might take awhile but that designation is very important if accurate.

Once that military address is tracked down to the correct, division, bridage, battalion, company.

You have pinpointed the soldier in question to company level and you have pinpointed exactly where they were in 1990.

Why is that important? You can find him by moving forward and there are many avenues in which to request contact from him that is not intrusive and in which he chooses to contact you or not to contact you.

I'll work on it, but it will take time. The unit he was with may have been deactivated or adopted into another BDE or BN since 1990-1991. Then if the previous happened the BDE or BN may have been moved from Fort Hood.

The unit that it listed, IF it was with 2AD, this division was deactivated back in 1995 when I was stationed there. I happened to be in that division and it was a really big deal since it was considered Patten's Division (WWII). We then became 4ID and I believe, 4ID is still there along with 1st Cav and III Corp.

Sorry in the late response - had my head buried in searches and all that good stuff. Here is the information from Missie regarding the phone call from Kentucky (as taken from Missie's original post on WS):

I just googled a KY map....Cave City does not look like it would be all that far in distance from Ft Campbell, KY. There is the military connection again....of course I may be reaching on this but it just seems odd with all of the possible connections being close to military posts.

Thanks for all the work on the PA Deanna, we can rule that one out! As far as the timeline/info sheet, I have a word doc on my other computer at home. I am still on vaca, but will be back this weekend, and will try to post it then. Elepher, mine is more a timeline, but yours is great!
