TX TX - Elizabeth Barraza, 29, murdered setting up garage sale, Harris Co, Jan 2019 #7

It is an interesting idea to look through their merchandise, but the upper part IMHO resembles inexpensive “plushy” house robe with a belt and big pockets. The poncho that you show looks shorter and has no pockets. Of course things have to be layered, but consider this, the person has to appear more or less natural to Liz. What is wrong with them is not seen from afar. A house robe would be OK for a person stopping to buy stuff in early morning. I see such robes often, they are soft, comfortable and not always white. I have something that reminds me of what the person wears, it is of very light melange salad color. Off-white. These things are usually of the same length, I assume that the person is no taller than 5’4”. It falls rather low. JMO. On the other hand, vinyl would fit the purpose. Do they sell vinyl raincoats with pockets?

About the boots: I think ribs are a good idea (good grip on ice), but something makes this footwear inconvenient for the person - either it is a man walking in heels, or maybe the boots are of a larger size? It appears so from the video. The opposite (right size, but slippery) could be possible, but they seem to feel more sure when running back to the car.
Why would the rain poncho need pockets? A rain poncho just opens at the sides so you can reach in the pockets of whatever you are wearing (or concealing) underneath. IMO it doesn't look like a house coat because at certain angles it appears light is coming through the material and secondly because of the way it moves in the wind when they run off appears to be a much lighter material than a plush houseboat. I did find a black Nissan frontier 4X4 parked in a handicap spot in between the party supplies store and that Academy back in 2018 Google images. Could be nothing though.

Well… ill be damned… handicap too… could explain the gait
I mean I could totally be wrong that that was the truck. The one in the cams looked like it had a pro4X decal but I know some people buy those and put on their trucks etc... the truck is a 4X4, black, doesn't have top rails etc... and in the cam pics it looks like the tailgate is down...I always assumed it was to conceal the license plate from certain angles but maybe it was to prevent identifying a particular vehicle bc of a giant sticker on the tailgate. Again, not saying this is anything but I definitely think the party supplies store/Academy angle needs to be explored.

A rain poncho could be a good idea to prevent blood splatters.

But the person doesn't approach her with a revolver, do they? Remember, her mom said, Liz was always naturally aware of her surroundings. So where would a revolver go? I think there should be deep pockets. But maybe you are right.

And whatever person wears on the head, I see long hair. I would not be surprised if someone wears long hair here in Western Washington, but usually it puts one into a younger age group.

Any thoughts?

Respecting your views fully, I have another speculative vibe on the shooter.

The shooter is not inexperienced. Rather they are just not formally trained. So, no drilled in two handed shooting techniques. Though almost nothing is truly rare in the age of the internet, .22 revolvers are just not that common. A casual purchaser could walk through more than a few pawn shops, gun stores and even gun shows and not readily see one.

So... my vague vibes point me towards:

A "daddy's tom girl" (shooter really seems feminine to me). Relatively big boned, but light on her feet. Softball produces a number of those types of girls.

Daddy introduced "Sally" to .22 plinking with a revolver at a young age- and she got pretty good at it. Sally .22 plinked to please her father (always wanted a boy). But... she never developed a personal interest in guns. So, no gun purchases in larger bores.

One day, Sally gets enraged by something (she may have a history of rages over 'disses, "stolen" boyfriends, jealousy over sports team positions etc.) Sally retrieves the old .22 revolver from a closet or sock drawer, then fires quickly and accurately, killing the victim.

Very possible. I think "Sally" looks normal to Liz from several feet distance. Maybe there is something abnormal, but not seen in the darkness?

Only Sally had the time to plan. One thing I believe, I do believe Liz's parents. And if they say it was a carefully planned execution, then the episode Sally got angry about could have happened a while ago.

Well with the poncho having open sides you could wear whatever you wanted underneath to hide the revolver so she wouldn't be alarmed to anything and it would be easy to conceal better under the poncho. I agree the poncho could not only help in hiding the weapon but also prevent blood splatter and it could be easy to change out of. I think that's probably why they chose it. I mean you could purchase the gun, boots and poncho all at that academy next door to the party supplies store she was working at. I'm sure if you worked at the store next to the academy you would be a frequent visitor of that Academy store.

You know what’s weird about this, we all thought the tailgate was down and maybe had a ladder sticking out when the camera saw the truck driving by. But look at that towbar (?) extending out from the back. Interesting…

Edited to add: Maybe not a towbar. But is that a wheelchair holder? Anyone have any idea what that is?

I have no idea what it is but I will try to do a Google image reversal search and see if that turns up anything.

So it looks like to prevent backing in to something or help take an impact in a rear end collision. Theses look similar to it.

Thanks! Wasn't sure if it is anything or not but in order to see it you have to search for earlier photos taken by Google amd this was stamped 2018 but I think the latest Google photos of that area said 2021 so definitely if you want to see it select the older photos selection.

A lot of work went into it, too.

Please forgive me, I’ve forgotten, the tailgate was open in the suspect vehicle during the murder, right? There’s a huge Wounded Warrior Project decal on this truck which could have been hidden during the crime, but would make it easier to find the owner of that truck.

My opinion

It appears to me and others that the tailgate is down in the cam footage of the killer's vehicle. The wounded Warrior sticker would make it easier to find.

I asked my husband who was a Nissan technician for years, he wasn't sure either but his best guess is that it's a step to get into the bed. He didn't think it was a wheelchair holder or anything to deter damage bc it's not going into the bumper.
