If a women she is very tall, a long armed aim with the firearm, skinny legs and has a long running stride.
Still amazed that the familiar use of the hand gun. And the brazen behavior.
Yep -- this person was absolutely determined to do away with Elizabeth - and s/he succeeded, and still is succeeding so far, but I think it'll be solved sooner rather than later. JMO.

Agreed! I think the police know a lot and are carefully building their case. I have faith an arrest will happen within this first year.

I don't think this killer(s) was THAT smart to be able to cover all evidence. I don't think it was work-related.

Family and friends here - would any of you like to let us know how everyone is doing?

Hoping an arrest is right around the corner...

I'm sorry-I know people don't like this point of view- but
A-Iwould be surprised if the killer is not a man
B-I think this is about jealousy

And to me-the killer absolutely knew about the yard sale-and knew she would be outside early..
just my point of view.

I think we're open to all possibilities here. But can you clarify what you mean that you think the killer is a man and you think it's about jealousy? So do you think a jealous woman hired a hit man? I'm interested in any and all theories. Jealousy is really high on my list too. However one extremely big question is, was there an insurance policy? Although that's where the odds may be, but we could say that this is such an unusual crime and maybe the motive is unusual. (more in post to follow).

Here's another theory that I know we've batted around here and worth bringing up again. And I'm sure the police have already gone down this line of thought. I don't know much of anything about the 501st Legion except that you have to "get in" and I heard somewhere that it is an exclusive group to get into. Totally a guess here but if the membership has the final say on who gets in, I wonder if someone wanted in but was turned down. And if that person chose to blame Liz for this and sought revenge. From what I see the group is a lot of great people but I'm sure there is a 1 to 2 percent of whackos who are also big fans of this activity.

Adding in this: if this was the case, it is possible that the person didn't know there was going to be a garage sale and planned to approach Liz when she went to her car to go to work. Either way it perhaps was going to be outside and in the driveway. But most likely the person did know about the garage sale, and if so, then that really narrows down the list of who knew since very few people knew about it.

Whatever note they gave to Liz probably only made it more obvious what this was all about instead of whatever the killer was trying to make the police think. However the note was possibly also to distract Liz, because the minute she looked at the note was when the killer took out the gun and fired it.

Interesting info: the husband of Liz seems to have taken a job with the same company she worked for. Good for him.

Well, the body of the killer does not look feminine. The legs seem long and thin, while the upper body is exagerrated to appear as feminine. They also run with a masculine gait. The bathrobe and hair also look more like a costume than an actual woman in her own clothing. The hair appears to be a wig to me, as it seems like it’s moving around on the killer’s head.

As for jealousy, this is obviously not a random murder. So to me, the killer planned his move based around the garage sale, and knowing she would be outside, getting ready. It also happened conveniently right after her husband left for work. The only motive I could guess at would be interpersonal and in my mind love/ lust/ jealousy and hate are the most obvious motives.

The South Texas Squad of The Star Garrison

I think that’s the one Liz and Sergio were members.

I mean her regular job.

Where did you find this out?
The usual public source; I think the Websleuths rules frown on naming a specific website.

Yes...and on sleuthing family as well.

It was intended as a compliment to the husband. I thought it was just links or mention of other sites. My apologies.

I must say, this "case" has really affected me and despite me delving into this and keeping track of every fact possible, and spending maybe 100 or more hours just thinking about this up one side and down the other from any possible angle, I end up at a complete loss. I hope the truth comes out and not 15 years from now but soon.

No, WS rules require a link to the info

Me too.

My total guess, and this is obviously completely just my amateur opinion, is that the perp is someone they were remotely acquainted with through their star wars group(s). That person took a dislike to them for whatever reason and enacted some revenge. This person is highly disturbed and probably has paranoid delusions. I am guessing that when the perp is caught and Sergio learns the name, he will react with WTH? The person probably never even blipped on his radar. Just my guess.

I too agree with you. The person will have a giant personality disorder and will be a grievance collector. I think the perp is wearing a disguise and did some planning, all of it serving the purpose of nursing some narcissistic injury. It's very scary, but people have been known to shoot up schools or workplaces over fairly minor triggers (to the rest of us). People get shot or knifed in bars and even stores over things that would be "road rage" if they were in their cars.

An offhand comment combined with, say, a perceived slight in some kind of cosplay or workplace context, could be enough for some people to go off the rails. Whether this same person will do something similar, again, remains to be seen. I sense "deranged stalker." Workplace stalker is a strong option (such a person might know she had an annual garage sale).

Lower on my list of possibilities would be deranged neighbor (who certainly would have had to steal or rent a car, I'd think).

BTW, my 2008 Toyota truck has a key that can be copied for $10 and has no chip. You can't lock and unlock the doors automatically, obviously, but you can unlock all the doors with two clicks. I think Nissans are the same way. Borrowing a truck from out of town is another possibility (if the person is smart). We have had criminal neighbors (thieves and drug dealers) who held down good jobs that required a more than ordinary amount of intelligence and responsibility. In the case of the thieves, I eventually learned that they had actually stolen from their own children. Almost every semester, I have a student who ends up having stuff stolen by a family member (sometimes a car, sometimes a bike, sometimes textbooks).

I believe the perp is male based on body proportions, but there's no way to be completely sure. Walked pretty confidently in what appear to be white boots. I've read most of the thread but didn't see a discussion about shoe style, beyond a couple of other people thinking they were white boots (I'd say they have 3 inch heels, but would love to hear others' opinions).

In a roundabout way, this case reminds me of the Missy Bevers' case.
Both in TX. Both seemed to be targeted. Both were violently and deliberately murdered. Suspect was dressed in a disguise. Suspect got away. No known clues.
