Does anyone know the amount of Liz's life insurance?

Does anyone know if any podcasts have done an episode on this case

I searched for “Elizabeth Barraza” on Apple podcasts and found one that was just released Nov 11. It is episode 21 of “A Southern Sleuth.” I haven’t listened to it yet.

<modsnip - quoted post was removed>

This person has a relative, neighbor, roommate, or boyfriend with an older 4 door black Nissan truck. I think there are people in that 501st Legion cosplay community who have an idea of who was driving that truck. They need to anonymously call Crime Stoppers and collect the TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLAR reward. Just think of what you could do with $20,000!

I'm surprised this case hasn't been solved yet with the vehicle being known. But I guess it's too common.

It would be nice to have some kind of update from LE, if nothing else to just let the public know they are still investigating Elizabeth's murder.

There will be an update on this case from the lead detective & father airing on the local news tomorrow night, also on the KHOU website. 10PM central time. Hopefully this is resolved soon!

Once again I have a very creepy feeling about what really happened. In spite of myself. The exact same one I had from the start. So distressing.

Thanks so much, hey_Gary, welcome to Websleuths. Any updates you have, if you are connected to the case or family, are greatly appreciated!

As cosplay can e used to escape reality by some, or to create an alternate reality, I think that this is probably a good guess as to the percentage of wackos involved.

One could probably double your figure and add another 2-4% of 'marginal' individuals who to varying degrees, could transfer cosplay world issues into the real world. So…. With a possible cosplay link, there could be what- 6% of the participants that could merit a closer look.

Absolutely, what about the Slenderman girls? They steeped themselves in an alternate reality and blurred fact from fiction. Depends upon how mentally stable the people were in the first place, and thus how susceptible to cracking.

Thanks! Not connected to the family but I live close by to where it happened. I’ve been following this daily since it happened, it’s such a strange case.

Me too, not a day goes by without thinking about Liz Barraza and hoping for a resolution to this case.

Given that the update is to be given tomorrow night (at 10 pm the night before Thanksgiving, no less), and not _tonight_, I don't have much hope that any real information will be shared. Remember we were told about a search warrant being issued in relation to the case a good while back, yet we've not heard anything further. I expect tomorrow's "update" will just say, 'this is not a cold case; we are still investigating.' I hope I'm wrong.

It's better than not hearing anything at all, right? ;)

As quiet as things have been, I was beginning to wonder if the case had been filed away or the investigation put on hold while detectives worked on other cases. No doubt, Houston PD has a lot of crimes to investigate, but this person could present a danger to the public. What if it's a killer who just randomly targets people out walking in public or mowing their lawn, etc.?

IMO that depends. When it's info about a search warrant that is supposedly going to move things along and then doesn't, it'd probably be better not to hear anything at all.

I certainly understand that! :) Of course. Most folks are wanting any communication from LE that indicates they're still working on the case. Just some kind of PR speech to reassure the public that they're trying to find the killer. "We're making progress" "The victim and her family deserve justice" "Please call XYZ number if you have a tip or recognize the vehicle in the video".

The latter is a bit unusual. Usually LE is out there every few weeks or months asking for tips or information.

The vehicle has always puzzled me. Maybe this make/model is much more popular in Texas. We don't see too many up here in the northwest. I just can't understand how LE was not able to get some kind of a trace on that car right away, since they had video. It wasn't a super-common truck. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Looking forward to hearing what they have to say tomorrow night at PC but not holding my breath for anything noteworthy. (Hope I'm wrong.)

Trucks are popular and commonly seen in the area but usually full size trucks - Chevy Silverado, Ford F-150 and F-250.
Ram Lone Star Edition.
