Found Deceased TX - Emily Wade, 38, Ennis, Ellis County, 5 Jan 2019

I saw the original conversation on Facebook about the quality inn. A man suggested to check the quality inn because she “sometimes stayed there” and the sister in law thanked him for that info. Perhaps the information turned out to be unreliable. Good catch!
That sounds strange. Maybe the man that suggested checking the quality inn needs checked as a POI?

“Ennis Lt. Michael Hopson told NBC News Monday the investigation is ongoing and no foul play is suspected. Investigators have not ruled out any suspects, Hopson said.”
'We Just Miss Her So Much': Vigil Held for Missing Ennis Mother Emily Wade

The wording here makes me think that LE does in fact suspect foul play and has identified a suspect, but they are being tight-lipped so as to not alert him/her.

I can think of at least three case off the top of my head where throughout the investigation LE maintained “so-and-so has been cleared” or “S/he isn’t a suspect,” only to say once an arrest was made that they suspected the individual all along.

I wish I could be more of a help, but after all this time, I still can’t come up with a viable theory as to what may have happened or where Emily might be.

On any of her possible routes back home, are there any sharp turns that she may have missed that would cause her to go into a wooded area or lake area? I have seen that scenerio happen on other cases. She was new to town and may have missed a corner. Also, would it still be somewhat light out at 8:30pm there?

No it is dark at 6 or 630 here, and this is what I think happened .

This LE statement is completely contradictory. No foul play. If there is no foul play suspected, there can't even be a discussion of suspects.

Maybe not spoken or quoted accurately?

I believe he needs to be interviewed. IE: "Was she with anyone when you saw her on these occasions?
Has it been over the past month that you've seen her there? What were your circumstances for being there?"
(Just for starters).

I can think of several reasons why she'd stay in a hotel other than her apt
where her mom and daughter are, but I want to know why. Was it because she needed quiet, privacy, or was she seeing someone who could only meet in a hotel?!

I could go on, but the way I read it in the Daily Mail, it is something certainly worth investigating. (By LE).

But shouldn’t they have found her by now if there had been an accident on the way home? The route home from the friend’s house was pretty short. The nearby lake is supposed to be small and shallow. How many places could a car and person be on that way or even the other way if she were turned around?

A long time ago a friend of mine drove her car off a boat launch and into the water. The car was ultimately found about 15 feet from where it went in. They dragged large magnets along the bottom until they hit something unmovable. Even though it was so close it took them an entire day to hit the car. If it was a large body of water and she was going at speed then it could take many days.

Not if she got confused and went the opposite way , therefore the route she should have taken wouldn't matter the only reason I say this is I have done the same thing several times , there is a street that looks like my hometown here and everytime I go this way I somehow have the urge to turn the way that I would in my hometown , which is the wrong way and would literally put me in the large part of the trinity if I was at night , my husband has warned me a few times when I'm driving with a loud " WRONG WAY are you trying to kill us Sloane!"

Excellent points Razz. It would also be helpful to know the exact time-sharing situation of child care. The "crawl across glass" statement seeds odd if he is the one with primary custody, and if EW only recently returned to town. I've never been clear on that.
But my gut tells me this Quality Inn tidbit will end up being a key lead in locating her.
LE still saying "no foul play," which technically means no "victim," just a missing person. How very, very odd.

Comments/questions/etc:

1. Wouldn't EW be familiar with the streets if she'd resided in the town before?

2. Is the name of the Quality Inn person known?

3. DailyMail seems to have a connection inside LE that is leaking facts to them before other sources, judging by the timing of several things they've reported so far.

4. Oddly, multiple early, online stories have now been edited to remove the word "pizza" from the phrase "pizza and a movie." Early stories are also "scrubbing" details like the word "male" from "male friend" and have *added* wording to indicate that the movie event was attended by more than two people.

Perhaps she stayed at the Quality Inn before she moved back, visiting her child and didn’t want to stay at her ex’s place, in between apartments or maybe had a hot date she didn’t want to take back to her moms place. Could be any number of reasons.

I'm not familiar with the "crawl across glass" statement? The person who mentioned seeing her at The Quality Inn supposedly mentioned it on the "Find Emily FB. Not sure who it is but the family would know.

What in the world would make you think that they are not doing just that? It's just that it takes a lot of time to not only GATHER the tapes/videos, but them to shuffle through them all. I'm sure they are continuing to do this.

Well i hope for Emily and her family's sake they are doing this - they should be leaving no stone unturned. Why haven't they put it out in MSM to ask if anyone around the town has potential video footage of that night, dash cam footage in particular?

I’m interested in that (looks like a large cemetery) along the route on the map. Is it hilly, lots of trees? Might be a good place to park a car and no one notice it for awhile.https://www.websleuths.com/forums/attachments/164494/

Or both! If the latter, maybe she had a "hot date" set up for after the pizza/movie night and thus the QInn becomes the center of the investigation. Thanks.

Exactly! Maybe they don't need or want it, which leads in another direction. Good discovery. Thank you.

I stand corrected. The mother said it and the quote did not contain the word "glass." From NBC's early story, " 'If she was able to crawl to me and her daughter she would do it,' said the missing woman's mother."

I know the name of the man who volunteered the Quality Inn info. Apologies if that’s not what you were asking, at work and multi-tasking ;-)

My opinion is that DM is getting information directly from Facebook as I’ve seen this happen in other cases. JMO.

Myrtle Cemetery doesn't look hilly but has a cluster of trees in front that could be a place to park a car and elude being seen. Looking at the map of the route on google, I'm struck by the size of Bardwell Lake. Wow.

DM is like the Enquirer in that they are very quick to report. Sometimes they get it very right but sometimes they get it very wrong. But they’re usually first!
