I believe the officer's story. a case of mistaken apartment identity.

But shes not trained to go in and shoot , she should have regressed and called for backup WTH!!! you do see that as wrong ?

That's a great point. How did she not notice that? Clearly she had no business being an on-duty police officer is she was so out of sorts. I think the defense will try to pin this on the department, and how she was so fatigued from the long shift. I also will be eager to find out how she got into the apartment. She claims the door was ajar but we've seen that the doors are fire doors that slam shut. Her key would have shown red when she inserted it and not opened the door. The affidavit in that article says she rendered first-aid. Really? When? Didn't sound like there were any attempts at first-aid from the phone call.

the only other entity that could possibly be negligent would be the apartment complex coded the keys the same, but still you don't go in SHOOTING !

"It’s quite common in cases of law enforcement officers,” he explained. “And we’re dealing with cases very similar to the murder of Botham where law enforcement officers are given every break, every leeway possible.”

He added, “They’re given a chance when there’s body camera footage to review that, to craft their narrative around it, [and] to scrub their social media …”

From one of the articles highlighted by @imstilla.grandma above. This is a quote from Lee Merritt. And I believe has a crossover to the Costco officer involved shooting. There is a video of the shooting, and has not been released to the public, but there are rumors that the officer has been able to view it, prior to his official statement on the incident.

Isn't that interesting.

Great, then you remember the 80's, then! Them were the days, eh Sailor? Your comment makes little sense. No one has said she was "acting in an official capacity".
Remember what in the 80's? In Dallas Texas?

The Dallas police department had a very well-deserved piss-poor reputation in the 80's. I remember one incident of a man who was arrested and somehow between the time he was put into the backseat of the patrol car and when that car arrived at the station, he was beaten to death. The cops got off scot-free on that one and on many others. Things got so bad that Congress convened hearings to investigate the department. Things have improved greatly since that time, thankfully. Then you add in that horrible shooting of those officers a few years back which was tragic on so many levels, one of which was just how far the department had come to change their ways to serve the community. IMO this case is far more complicated than it would first appear due to the history and legacy of the department. My $0.02.

But she would have to put the bags down, before taking a key out and trying to open the door? Where were her hands? If she was carrying the bags on her back, then they wouldn't block her vision.
and I'm sure she had her key out if she thought it was her door so one hand free at least.

If it was the wrong door and her key card didn't work, how did she get in? tua

the Wild West times , my friend /roommate was found naked in a field and never solved / LE was doing some shady things as well , just like the one who got fired for shaking down hookers and having sex in the patrol car recently

I don't recall the details of congressional hearings and I can't find any record of it. Can you point me to a link? ty

She would certainly need her hands free, when she drew her gun. I wonder where her bags were by then.

Funny that I've lived there all my life and don't know about it. Course that was a very very long time ago! Maybe that's when they changed issued ammo to low caliber that was good for nothing.
I'm still interested in what her motive would be. I've heard speculated lovers quarrel, but I'm not seeing that. Lol. Loud music, I don't think so even though it can be annoying. So what could it be?
Maybe they had a previous run in at some of his protests. I hope there are more valid details revealed in the trial because there certainly aren't any now.
