Guns make some people feel powerful, in control and ten feet tall (mooooooooooooooo). Having been victimized before, I was very surprised when I got my first weapon how different I felt. Of course, I haven't shot and have no plans to shoot anyone ever. I'm just saying that if you were a person who embraced a certain way of thinking in the first place (as scrubbed social media may or may not show) and you already had a preemptive type mindset, no one is safe around you, whomever you might be, especially if you're member of LE.

I think this will be a main point in the prosecution's case. The DPD makes it clear that AG was "acting as an officer" since she was still wearing her uniform and supposedly "giving commands." The decision to use her gun, according to department policy, implies she was attempting to take BSJ into custody while using the least amount of force necessary. So, what crime, according to the defense, was BSJ committing and was the amount of force used really necessary? I don't know what evidence they could present to support that unless they plan to pin the MJ possession on BSJ. First, they would have to prove the MJ found in the apartment belonged to BSJ -- I don't believe it did. I think the prosecution has a strong case against AG and I certainly hope it holds up in court (as it should) because this is one of the most heartbreaking, tragic cases I have seen and there is just no reason why it should have ever happened. MOO

I so agree with you: this is one of the most heart breaking cases I have ever seen--- he was a total innocent: imagine you are sitting in your own home, condo, apt. etc., watching T.V. or whatever you are doing, and someone (in this a cop) barges through the door and shoots for no reason: it horrifies me. I am hoping there is justice for this man and his family.

"A defense attorney for fired police officer Amber Guyger took a moment Friday to introduce his client to the 220 members of the jury pool for her murder trial.

"This is Amber Guyger," Toby Shook said, moving to stand beside Guyger. "I am proud to represent her, along with the rest of the defense team."

For a handful of candidates, the details of the case were a complete mystery — and those were just the jurors attorneys on both sides were looking for.

Jury selection resumed Friday morning ahead of Guyger's trial for killing Botham Jean, an unarmed man who was shot in his apartment last year....

The jury will be asked to decide whether it was a crime when Guyger, 31, shot Jean on Sept. 6, 2018. And if it was a crime, was it murder or a lesser crime like manslaughter or criminally negligent homicide? They could also find Guyger not guilty....

Testimony is expected to begin Sept. 23, and the trial could last two weeks.

Four thousand potential jurors were summoned to the courthouse last week to fill out questionnaires about their views and knowledge of the case. About 800 showed up.

On Friday, the remaining 400 would-be jurors filled the second floor outside the Central Jury Room of the Frank Crowley Courts Building on Friday. They stood in several single file lines as bailiffs slowly allowed them inside....

Jurors may be sequestered during the entire trial and will not be able to use their phones or access the internet. The trial could last two weeks, Kemp said, but may be shorter or longer...."

I can easily see people who haven't heard about this case. I remember the "Rodney King" situation, I was busy working, going to school, I never heard about it at all.

I was working in Alaska when OJ was driving around LA, I barely heard about it.

I didn't notice this when I listened to the call a few weeks back - towards the end she says "How the f*k did I put the..." and then she doesn't finish. For the life of me can't figure out what she was going to say. Put the WHAT?

Perhaps some of them didn't want to be on jury duty, and they knew that type of answer would get them off this case.

"State District Judge Tammy Kemp said jurors should prepare to pack at least one week of clothing because they may not be allowed to return home for the duration of the trial, a process called sequestration."

When asked earlier Friday, Kemp said she had not made a decision on a request by Guyger’s lawyers to convene the trial in another Texas county. Attorneys representing Guyger argued that the former Dallas police officer could not receive a fair trial in Dallas County and motioned that the trial be moved to another location.
Prosecutors have opposed moving the trial, and Kemp has said she will make a ruling on whether an impartial jury can be seated after the jury selection process is complete."

Yes, and it would of been nice to hear genuine concern for BSJ rather than more concern for her job. It also would have been nice to hear her attempt to administer first aid.
