That’s terribly sad, Lyssa. Poor little love.

Also, I just wanted to clarify that I didn’t mean asphyxia was a common ‘practice’ across the board — it was specifically in relation to a child’s COD with little other immediately noticeable injuries as in the cases you posted above.

I hope our little guy’s parent(s) aren’t victims of human trafficking and/or homicide and that’s why he/she/they haven’t been able to come forward.

We had a terrible case here in Australia recently when an UID little girl’s remains were found in 2015. Her DNA was subsequently matched to that of her mother whose UID remains were found in another state in 2010. Both were only listed as mispers for a short amount of time due to someone impersonating the mother during phone calls to her family (despite both her and her daughter being victims of homicide in late 2009):

Been following that.

Aw, Khandalyce & Karlie Pearce, this one had slipped to the back of my mind. I remember when the first reports came of the child in the suitcase and reports of a man being seen with that suitcase. Just when you thought it couldn't get anymore tragic, turns out her mother suffered the same fate.
Awful story.

My hubby worked with the little girls grandpa. The mom had friends over and I guess she didn't want to deal with the baby and was angry that she wouldn't stop crying. :(

Oh hell... :censored:

I still haven't heard anything new, last I heard they were waiting on toxicology results. I know those tests can take a while but you'd think they'd give this case priority and try to get those results ASAP. I think they may be staying tight lipped for a reason though.

Could be. If they’re on the trail of a suspect, I’m happy to wait.

In another case I am following they said the toxicology results can take up to 90 days (TX also) so if that's anything to go off it could be a while.
This little guys time will come. I'm confident.

I keep forgetting about the tox screen. You’re right AP, results could take a while — especially if testing is non-specific.

I’m confident right along with you. I think quite a few people are determined that out little guy will have his birthright restored and his loved ones see justice done.

Happy Halloween sleuths!

This little mite should be out going trick or treat-ing not this :(

How long was it between Bella being found and Bella being ID'd? Same with Riley? Not that it will be the same, I just wonder how long these things take to circulate to the right places.

Bella was about three months between when she was found and when the ID was made public. The tip(s) that identified her came in quite early but had to be investigated and verified, and while they were verifying, they kept up the publicity. Didn't take anything for granted.

Riley was identified about a month after she was discovered.

I also spoke with Det. working this little guys case - he says he expects another press conference to be held sometime this week.

BBM. Thanks for letting us know, Lyssa. Please thank him (and his team) for us. This little guy’s case must be tough on them.

I'm following but I'm still not over Bella.
I can't even open her thread after that travesty of justice.
Others may just not be able to follow after that.

That's a good point. I hadn't thought of it that way. Thank you.

After scrolling through and reading just some of the posts on Bella’s forum, I can understand why.

It was very traumatic here in the Boston area.

I can only imagine it would be terribly traumatising. In the States there have been so many little ones found in similar circumstances. In Australia, we have many long term missing children and multiple DV-related child homicides but rarely are our little ones found washed ashore UID. The last child found in similar circumstances was a young teenaged girl discovered in a Queensland river in 2015 AFAIK.

Whatever the circumstances, child exploitation, abuse and homicide as well as children who are missing, are terrible tragedies for anyone who has an ounce of empathy.

Still following, tough for me after Bella as well. I just want them to get the isotopes done on this little guy so our agony is not prolonged. We're all he apparently has. Why can't they just do this now!!!!
