Does anyone remember a case that happened in the last six months or so of a young girl, I don't remember her age, who was found to be hiding after suspicion had fallen on her boyfriend? I think he went through a good amount of police questioning. I believe it turned out that she was hiding in a house associated with her boyfriend. Her mother had gone on Nancy Grace. I'm sorry but I can't remember too many particulars because I didn't follow the case very closely.

If there are any kids in town who have any information, it would have been easier to keep it quiet while they were all still on vacation. They've been back for about a week now haven't they? I'm sure that got people talking if there was anything to be said. Perhaps that's how this "new" witness was uncovered.

I think his use of the word "discernment" is interesting. Discernment is how well you can figure out the truth in an unclear situation. I take it as family members having an idea about what may be going on but not wanting to disclose their thoughts to LE for some reason.

Thanks.

But he also said some of the closest people to the investigation have been changing their stories as recently as yesterday (paraphrased.) So that is more than simply holding back or a misunderstanding.

What makes you think Hailey's dad was making good money?

My understanding is that he is living in section 8 housing, or whatever it is called there. Income based. He doesn't have a vehicle that works. I am not even sure he has a job at the moment... and he has a new baby.

I don't believe that after what they have done to remain civil for their children... that either one would take the other to court. I also think we would have heard about it by now.

MB's Mom wasn't happy because her daughter was roaming the streets when she spent the night at Hailey's. MB's Mom has never met Hailey's Mom. The first time she saw her was on Nancy Grace.

IF MB's Mom had met Hailey's Mom before her daughter spent the night there someone may have said "the kids are allowed to do whatever they want." Or, "the kids will be home alone because I work nights."

I absolutely cannot stand a certain extended family member of mine, by marriage only. Wouldn't shed a tear if she died tomorrow, she has truly screwed me over in every way possible. We go to family functions after she leaves and skip them if we can't avoid her. She is irresponsible, irrational, impulsive and unreasonable. All of which put her child in danger.

But if her CHILD went missing (which is not out of the realm of possibility unfortunately) I would be there FIRST one driving the 6 hours to be there assisting. I would be the first one calling the media, arranging for other people to bring food, calling TES, calling Mark Klaas, calling Nancy Grace... and of course posting it here. Though I think they'd return the child before I finished making my phone calls... the babysitters all do. :innocent:

I don't care if someone has slept with your husband, called you bad names, told you that you are a bad mother, or not supervised your child properly. When there is a missing child you put that all aside and do whatever you can to help. Especially when that missing child is your child's best friend. :waitasec:

BBM

And I'll say it again. Not if that child's family is blaming you for the other child disappearing.

I was hoping that even a middle school kid would care about a $15K reward...even one passing along a tip as a 'rumor'.

IDK - maybe middle school kids are too intimidated at the thought of calling LE.

How far from the house was SA's work? And wasn't it said he normally came for lunch at 1 o'clock? That doesn't make any sense if work was far away.

I don't know how you guys do it....I tried to help in the Haleigh case but ended up so frustrated. Texas Mist...I'm sorry but I believe this is exactly how this Hailey case is turning out...I'm seriously waiting on a new tattoo or wedding :(

I wonder if any of the investigators involved would share with BD who exactly is changing their story? I can't possibly relate to a missing child--I just feel like it would be very hard to know that someone's story is changing and not beat the holy crap out of them until they talked.

Considering BD herself said she failed the poly, no I doubt LE is telling her anything.

12 hours shift thats two breaks and a lunch hour, i would think a call home somewhere there, unless of course, toll call to house discouraged by work.

Counselors are at the school, IIRC.......kids would talk to a counselor probably before they would parents or LE IMO.
Teachers will hear all the rumors kids will talk about...........and hopefully go to LE.
After reading the charts at our forensic astro's, I am believing that the outcome looks very bad.

Colorado City Police struggle with inconsistent statements, as they work to create a time line of when 13 year old Hailey Dunn went missing. snip.......

.......Though family says she was last seen December 27th, Sunday law officials confirmed there have been inconsistencies in the families statements.

http://www.ktxs.com/news/26419095/detail.html

hmmmmmmmm............I wonder if they are doubting when she was last seen?

I think kids this age are far more intimidated/influenced by other kids than they are by LE. Mob mentality takes hold, no one wants to be the snitch if there is something the kids know and are hiding.

But one or more family members, that blows my mind. I was not expecting this in this case, Florida, yes, expect nothing but lies.

Do we know if Clint was home Monday or if he is even working? I thought I had read he was not, and yet since only GF was the one to say she had not seen H, I wonder if he was home.
Could there have been a group of boys all together at one place...

That's part of my problem too teh..I've been doubting when she was last seen..:waitasec: The ONLY reason that I can see that what we have heard may be true is the neighbor that saw her talking on the phone. I wonder how sure of the time (and day for that matter) they are?

I'm also still curious as to who (as in what agency) administered these polys..has it been said or confirmed as to who it was yet?

So in 12 days that Hailey has been missing, "the family" has failed polygraphs, lawyered up, and keeps changing their story? Hmmm....

Yep, yep, yep, as another WSer put it so eloquently earlier, that woman is just pouring salt into BD's wounds, and MOO is it is just plain tacky. BD has carried herself with honor, class and dignity throughout this ordeal and I admire this young woman.
