COLORADO CITY, Texas -- Billie Dunn and Shawn Adkins apparently had an unusual, if not sordid, reading list.

During the investigation into the disappearance of 13-year-old Hailey Dunn, authorities confiscated 278 pages of material printed from websites about several lurid topics, from mass murder to sex and death.

What's odd to me (among other things) is that BD printed that material off and brought it home. Why? Almost like it's a "collection". Almost like what a perp would do after he has killed someone - follow the crime in the media and keep "memorabilia". Not that I think she's guilty at all, it just seems odd. I follow that kind of stuff here all day long. The only things I've ever printed off were trial transcripts that I wanted to read and couldn't read at work.

In total, the box contained 278 pages of material that investigators thumbed through as part of the investigation of the missing 13-year-old Hailey Dunn, a Colorado Middle School eighth-grader missing since Dec. 27.

for some reason, I find myself thinking about the Canadian case, where the gf helped the bf, drug & rape, her little sister, who then ended up dying...horrible. The girl & guy, turned around & got married! & then committed more crimes.

You are talking about Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka. Paul Bernardo is serving a life sentence in Kingston Penitenuary where Russell Williams is; the ex-military Colonel who murdered two women Jessica Lloyd and Marie France Comeau. Canada does not have the death penalty.

The affidavit also includes a statement from one of Hailey&#8217;s uncles, who was talking to Adkins about Hailey&#8217;s disappearance. The uncle said he could not believe that anyone would hurt a 13-year-old little girl.The affidavit reports that Adkins replied, &#8220;Yah, it&#8217;s like killing a deer.&#8221;The uncle recalled that Adkins often talked about how he kills deer, and then he would cut them up with a chainsaw.

It really sounds as if BD was getting caught up in SA's fantasies and wanted to join him by printing this information (at work!!!) to get more knowledgable herself. Dark secrets of their relationship - can only lead to NO GOOD!

I agree - but why not take the cameras too? Why just the media cards? That is so strange. I guess because it would be too hard to carry all of the cameras and the cards are easily portable?

My Dear Hubby has game camera's on the back part of our property. We got very good pictures of a young woman, an older man & their vehicle trespassing and stealing three days in a row. Before we even called the LE"s we had made copies of the pictures and the LE's recognized them as local thugs. They took the SD cards in for evidence. Long story, but we are waiting for DH to be called in for a deposition for the court case! We still check the cards once a week!

IMO what we could have here is SA is 8 years younger than BD ..I think this could have been an attempt to have something in common with him?

Perhaps Billie didnt know just how MUCH he was into this hobby?

I am not defending BD ...but I need a couple more verifications before I throw her under the bus

Oh no... I'm having flashbacks to the stuff some of you were sleuthing on Zahra's case. I will really freak if some of the clippings about family murders they had were about Zahra... :furious:

and SA was on RX drugs that he had to be weaned off for poly.......no way!!!

She may have printed it because she wanted to read it but did not have a computer at home. I have no idea why she then kept it, however. Seems like you'd read it and then discard it.

Could be that LE was the one who grabbed the SD cards from these cameras? IMO

ETA: However, it is private property and LE would need a search warrant to gather these.

I thought that, too... No printer/internet at home. Still, even if it were just a "hobby", it has no place in a home with anyone under 18. Heck, not even with anyone over 18... :no:

I was afraid of that so much when I saw those mask & cellar pics with the knife and chainsaw, thinking to myself "whats with so many chainsaws lately- first Zahra, now this???? PLEASE Dear God, I pray this didn't happen to Hailey!! That poor girl I feel so bad for CD, and especially DD. Also, that close friend of Haileys MMJ (?) from Topix needs help & support. I hope she gets it.

Kids *really* need to tell another trusted adult when they are scared of something at home, and NOT keep it to themselves

I haven't been posting much with this case, because it's been challenging just trying to catch up, only to find myself so far behind again. I'm here with all of you the whole time though :grouphug:

I am getting the feeling that BD and SA were TOGETHER all of Monday morning. I know it's reported that she "left for work" at 6:20 and that a witness (?) confirmed that ..... but I am not sure that confirmation is correct. We know they had ONE car. For their phones to be pinging together at the same time off the same tower ... either they were together or someone had both phones.

I suppose it's possible that SA TOOK the phone (so BD couldn't call for help if she discovered something amiss?) but I still think they were together that morning.

I'm not a vision kind of person but I keep getting one and have been since BEFORE the docs were released last night.... do we have a dreams and visions thread for HD ?

Billie says she left her phone at home for the kids. Both phones did ping off the same tower - the tower that would pick up pings from the house at 1804 Chestnut. So Billie could have gone to work, and SA would have come back home... hence the two phones being together.
