I asked last night but never received an answer. Where did anyone hear that SA's family has money? Some might think, "what does this have to do with finding Hailey" and it doesn't. It pertains to why BD might be being illusive IMO.

You can also tether via some cell phones, using the phone as a modem. I do it all the time. We don't pay for it with Verizon Wireless but use a free service.

I felt kind of like an intruder but looking at her FB page was interesting. Most of her posts sounded like she was at her grandmothers because she talked about baby sitting her cousins. My granddaughter's ITouch has internet capabilities and her posts always say from IPhone. Many of Hailey's say the same. Check out her FB page and her Info.

I agree. I have this feeling that he was sexually attracted to HD, and that her grandmother's claims about him lurking outside her bedroom door were accurate. Here's another thought that's crossed my mind several times, that some of you may think is pretty wild. Take a hard look at BD. If you didn't know otherwise, you might guess that she is HD's older sister. It's hard to believe she's 33 - she's just sooooo young looking. Maybe SA is really attracted to the young ones...

I'm just not sold on the whole "Hailey was afraid of him" thing.
Teens, especially one reported by many to be a daddy's girl ... have a really hard time adjusting to step parents. MANY are known to say things and do things to get mom to get rid of the step parent. It's REALLY REALLY common.
I can think of many times my own daughter reported things to her grandmother that were far from the truth. One time she told her that my (BF at the time) "touched her butt" my mom called in a rage and I burst out laughing. I was standing right there ... and he had in a fatherly gesture been trying to untuck the back of her shirt that she stuffed in her pants after going to the bathroom. In NO WAY was it inappropriate. Today, she laughs about it... and she admits that he didn't do anything wrong, but by heck she wanted him G _ O _ N _ E. and if getting grandma mad would help that happen.... she was gonna do it.
And for the record, we've now been together for 12 years and they are extremely close. She's a self admitted "step daddys girl".

I have to wonder if her life was fine before she met him. Like me, I had everything and was going good....then I met HIM and it all went downhill quickly. Whereas I was never late with bills, constant disconnect to disconnect and so on. He sucked me down a blackhole and I wonder if it was the same with Billie.

Here's another thing that bugs me about that day and why I wish we could get an answer as to where SA told BD he was.

BD claimed that she got a ride home to CC from a co-worker on the 28th as soon as she realized that Hailey was missing.

I would assume the first person she called was SA. They both worked in Snyder and he should have still been at work. What did he tell her was the reason he could not leave work and drive her home in what would be the most important emergency in her life?

Remember, she claimed not to know he was not employed until the following day, Dec 29th.

Hate to sound like a broken record but something is not right with what went on from time she found out HD was not at MB to time she went to the police to make a report....her actions just dont make sense....I sure would like more info in this timeline....Please

IMHO, and I could be way off base because I haven't followed this case as closely as all of you, but..............I think she was already dead or gone when Billy left for work. She just THOUGHT she saw her in bed or she was there, but perhaps not alive.

When the b/f got to work and hadn't heard from Billy, he knew he had the day to dispose of Hailey. He left work and shut his phone off just when he got to town. Then he was UNKNOWN LOCATION for a couple of hours.

IMHO, she's probably between her mom's house and SA's mom's house.....or somewhere that could have been gone to and back within the allotted time.

I have thought that he might have harmed Hailey in the night while Billie slept, but wouldn't their be some forensics in her room or the house to support this. We haven't heard that they used cadaver dogs in the house, and if not, why not?

Gezzz just find her already, I hate following these cases like so many (forgive there are too many to name) So many want her home....anyone out there just go to LE and tell them what you know, any tidbit, if you have any information just call.

You know..I know we can not discuss him, and I promise I'm not trying to do that..but I am hoping that DD has been a wealth of info for LE. Must be a horrible position to find himself in, I do so hope that he is forthcoming though. It would be so hard to have to admit anything negative about your mom, no matter what the circumstances are...He could be the one person that may have witnessed disturbing events first hand though.. Very sad..

I read on Topix (FWIW), that Hailey and her friends would stand in front of the hotel that scent dogs trailed to, in order to get a wireless signal. In the raw interview with Billie that I posted a link to, she tells the reporters they did not have a computer in their home.

If that's true, then that would explain the hit by the dogs.

I too keep wondering if there was some trigger over that holiday weekend. What may have led SA to do something Monday morning, after BD left?

My speculation centers around SA's calling BD his fiance on the MM site. Could he have proposed to her on Christmas? Given her a ring? Then HD acted out her disapproval ??? (ticked him off) ???

I believe what was reported in the statement made by DB (the person with whom Hailey stayed for a month last year). She said there was a blow up around Christmas time regarding Hailey wanting to move in with Clint. I believe tensions were high during the holiday (higher than usual because Hailey wasn't in school and therefore around the houses more). I'll find the article and post it.

Something that keeps poking at me is when Billie confirmed that Hailey had indeed moved away for a month (when she was only 12) to live with DB. Billie said that she let Hailey try it but then told her she had to come home and she didn't think Hailey really liked it anyway. It sounded more to me like it was not Hailey's decision to come back. This has always been strange to me; a 12 year old being so unhappy that she would leave her family and school to go live with someone who once dated a relative.

ITA with this. I know many are shocked over those videos, but honestly, I see a bunch of young boys trying to be "shocking". It seems to be what younger people do these days. Ten years ago everyone would have been shocked over the show "Jackass", and were. These days it's considered tame. They have nothing to do out in the middle of nowhere, so they carry around a deer heart, shoot an air soft gun out of a car window, and dress up in scary costumes.

Same thing with the drug use on video, these boys are just trying to get attention. If they were sitting in a college dorm getting stoned, it wouldn't have looked that out of place. That's what a lot of kids their age do!

I see a bunch of immature boys, acting like immature boys!! People can mature a lot from their younger 20's to mid 20's. However, I do understand how people can link what they see on those videos to some terrible thing happening to Hailey. We all have seen horrific things on this board that none of us would have ever considered.


I still think SA is suspicious in this ordeal, but not to the extent many others do. I am very much on the fence about BD too. I still wouldn't be surprised if neither he, nor BD, had anything to do with Hailey's disappearance. JMO

Tame? Not in my world. I am still shocked and horrified. They don't get a pass from me because they're bored! Please. Hacking up a deer with a chain saw is sick and twisted. He told a relative of Billies about it so it wasn't all that long ago.

Seriously, if my kid EVER behaved this way, you can bet his butt would be getting some professional help!

Okay, yes I did hear that I just didn't equate that into money LOL. Owning land in a po-dunk town. Could mean money, could mean it was handed down from family etc. Who knows. I was just thinking maybe BD is intimidated b/c she knows SA's family could hire a big time defense attorney for him.

He was stoned, I think. That is the flat affect of drugs. I've seen it many times.

Having been around (way more) stoners than I care to admit to... IMO SA was NOT stoned in those videos. He looks more like a "deer in headlights".

I'm not reading into that though. I look like that when put on the spot or faced with crisis in any way. Like a robot, I function until crisis is over. Once I know that it's done or out of my control ... I lose it. I shake, crumple to the ground, sob, yell , scream... whatever. But while it's happening ... like a well oiled machine. Comes off as very robotic and "flat".

My guess is because he is doubting them, verbalizing that to them, so they offer him the tapes, so he can see for himself?

Or perhaps to see if there is anyone, or perhaps a vehicle, in the videos that he may recognize . . .

Although BD used drugs, I do not believe she is a drug addict. I worked in a medical setting for a number of years and know that if she were using drugs heavily, her coworkers would have spotted it. Since she has worked at the same place for 7 years, I believe she must be a reliable employee. Especially if they knew she did not have a license, her coworkers would have watched her closely. Also from knowing a number of nurses who lost their licenses because of drug use, I think if she were a serious drug user she would have soon gotten into trouble with the temptation to steal drugs or forge perscriptions. For these reasons, I think her drug use is recreational.

There are doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and many other medical professionals with raging addictions to drugs that still manage to function at their jobs and not get caught for years and years and years.

LE must have Hailey on video near the motel, where the dogs hit.

Otherwise, WHY would LE offer to show Clint video from the surrounding area?

I am thinking they offered to show CD the videos because Hailey is NOT on the video anywhere. Clint most likely wants to view them himself to confirm this. He is desperate to find Hailey. Clint absolutely should insist they allow him, as the parent, to view ALL videos just to be 100% sure.

Who better to look at the videos to determine if Hailey is on them than the parents? :banghead:

The link to the story with DB talking about Hailey living with her last school year no longer works. Here is the text which was posted her before.

Donna Byerley met Hailey her through Byerley’s boyfriend, who had once dated a relative of Billie Jean Dunn. She described the girl’s home life as “volatile at times.”

Byerley characterized the 13-year-old as not getting along with her mother’s boyfriend, and Hailey herself as always wandering “here and there,” coming and going largely “as she pleases.”

But rather than a little girl lost, Byerley painted a picture of a compassionate person, whether it was taking care of a mutual friend of a family pet, a girl who remained “very much an individual,” with an honest style of communication whether talking about school, family or friends.

Dunn has stayed with Byerley and her boyfriend off and on, including the last two weeks of the previous school year, Byerley said.
