I don't mind helping to clear up points that need to be clarified. And I really do mean to go back through and read the posts, but it is going to take a while - I still need to get through quite a bit of the second thread. I don't think it is fair to blast LE 100%
The fact is teens lie to their parents and come home, most of the time.
The cops were told she went to a sleepover, but turned out that was not true, but the parents were unaware she was missing for a day.
At the time of the call no one thinks boyfriend is lying.
I can see why they thought is was a teen issue and she would be home shortly.
Not saying they couldn't have done more before public pressure built, but at the initial call we applying a lot of hindsight knowledge.
