Very interesting thought. I can see that being possible

Has anyone considered the possibility that SA never actually made those threats - or if he did, they were just a "matter of speaking" and never intended as a serious threat?

In the first call, BD starts out by saying she doesn't want SA in the house for fear he'll take something. Police response is along the lines of "there's not much we can do about it" - THEN she "ups the ante" by suggesting her son might be there and SA might be a danger to him. That still doesn't get far with the police.

From the way the officer responds to the second call, I'm fairly certain there were other calls/visits to the station in between - and again, judging from the way the officer responds, it sounds as if BD doesn't get what she wants. So, she says that SA threatened her and her ex. (I would REALLY like to know if the officer saw those text messages she claims BD sent.)

Then - SA calls police reporting she might be suicidal. Maybe BD has been calling him giving him a bunch of drama, too?

Those calls just don't strike me as legit. I'm not so sure BD wasn't "playing" the cops.

Thank you for pointing out my error. You are absolutely correct and I want to help keep the facts straight too. I'm glad you said something before I banked in my brain. :) Thanks!!!

The following property was seized from the Dunn's white 2000 Chevrolet Lumina:

– Two rolls of black electrical tape

– One plastic purple cigarette lighter

– Six 3M trace evidence collection filters with trace evidence from vehicle

– Miscellaneous papers

– One sterile sheet with debris from trunk of vehicle.

A sterile sheet if often used by law enforcement to collect evidence without contaminating it. It's not known why those items were taken, and the Texas Rangers have been very tight-lipped as the investigation into Hailey Dunn's disappearance continues.
Well NG did mention Sulfuric Acid, why I don't know, but she referenced that SA had access that chemical related to his oil field experience. MOo

IMO Our Texas Rangers are the best and most tenacious guys we have. So trust they are away ahead of us Web Sleuthers ! Nite all !

4-5 days adding fresh acid daily, it just did not work the way we thought it would, later learned from our Veterinarian, boiling is the best way to remove flesh from the bones with out marring the heavy skull area ! Just thought I would through that in here in case someone really thought the acid thing was a possibility, I am confused where the acid theory came from? And IMO sulfuric acid would not totally dissolve bones quickly ! I have no experience with any other acids.

But you said you used Sulphuric Acid Drain Cleaner. I think that is much weaker than pure Sulphuric Acid, like the kind used in oil fields.

We are not discussing Billie's colorful past here. She is a mother whose daughter is missing. Please read Tricia's post.

We are not going to bash Cz or any other WS member. Knock it off now.

This post lands at random and is not about the post above it.

And WHAT THE HECK IS THE DEAL WITH SHAWN?

WHY WHY WHY????????????????

Thank you!!!!!!

Well the name of the brand fails me (Happy Jack ) maybe , but you used to get it at janitorial supplies and it was 100% Sulfuric acid ! Very inexpensive. IMO Very Toxic with the skull and cross bones on it and if you splashed it on you it would burn the heck out of you until you neutralized it with water.

Under normal circumstances nor would I but this one is different. Resouces at school? HD had already lived with 4 families it seems in a years time. I would surmise HD has been around LE and those encounters didn't turn out well or make the homelife any better. I think when HD wrote the note to her teacher,"I Love You" she was reaching out but the message was unclear at the time to the teacher. HD informed her GrandMother about her fear of SA and GrandMother told her son but by CD own admission on NG last night he "Didn't want to hear it".This child did ask for help IMO but no one heard her.

Thats heartbreaking~and just one more of the many reasons that the abused can possibly be trapped Extricating oneself is not as easy as "reaching out", "telling someone" or simply "walking away". Abuse, as it may or may not apply in this case, is a complicated issue which has many layers (like a growing fungus). God Bless all past and present victims. (And yes, I do know from experience~on many levels).

I will check tomorrow with a source and get some more info on the exact strength od acid they use in the oil field ! Bet LE has already done that ! But I will check for you.

When you (effectively) dissolve something in acid you don't pour the acid on it... you submerge the item into the acid and leave it there.

You would get a container large enough and put the item in the container full of acid. You need a place to put it. A storage unit/shed is a place that has been used in the past.

I am not seeing this as a highly likely method in this particular case. :twocents:

Mafia Informant Killed and Dissolved In Acid

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/oct/18/mafia-informant-body-dissolved-acid

Larissa Schuster (a former biochemist) murders her estranged husband Tim Schuster with chloroform and hydrochloric acid, leaves him in the acid.

Tim's body was found in her storage shed less than a week after his murder and only half of it was left.

I promise I'm not printing these out....

The whole case (could be disturbing/graphic to some):

Autopsy Details (could be disturbing/graphic to some):

http://abclocal.go.com/kfsn/story?section=archive&id=4804926

This is actually a more recent one, which was not submerged. Therefor was not dissolved.

A girl of three was stabbed to death by her schizophrenic mother who then tried to dissolve the body in acid.

Definitely disturbing and graphic.

O/T

I didn't take chemistry in high school. I had to get that cleared up before I say that I nearly killed myself when I got the bright idea to mix bleach and ammonia...in a mobile home bathroom....

I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming....

My Dad did something when he was like 12... He was doing something and almost got caught, so he put it in his pocket. One of these two types of acid. Great until he realized it had burned through his pants. :floorlaugh:

My Dad lucked out that he got 5 children who even when put together did nothing near as bad as the stuff he did! None of us got arrested... especially not for stealing a cop car while being shot at. :waitasec: And we were all old enough to drive before we had children. :innocent:

I am curious about the sheets that were taken off of the bed. IIRC, LE did not pick them up for a few days. So, if there was DNA on them and they were washed, will all of the DNA be washed away? Along the same line, if a person died in the bed and the sheets were washed, could the dogs pick up any scent?

OMG!

I just have to confess this.

My friends husband died and I had to clean out her house because she couldnt do it and she wanted everything gone.

I only had 12 hours to do it and I went by my daughters (still hoping he is an ex)boyfriends house with some stuff I was taking to the dump. Well he was not home and his brother came outside and asked me what I was doing with the stuff in the truck. I told him it was going to the dump. He asked if he could have this computer chair.

I didnt want to give it to him because it was the chair her husband died in but I dunno it was a very nice chair and he seemed to really want it so I told him he could have it.

I did not tell him anyone died in the chair. I had forgotten about it until just now when I read this post.

So just in case his house is ever searched and there is a hit on the chair I want you guys to know why. But anywhere else he is own his own.

Tissue is usually dissolved with base (sodium hydroxide), not acid. Acid will burn you but its not that good at actually dissolving biological material. Pure sulfuric acid acts as a dehydrating agent, it sucks water out and causes chemical reactions that eliminate water, but all the rest would remain. If you tried to dissolve someone that way you would probably end up with a blackened lump. Sodium hydroxide on the other hand causes the complex molecules in the body to hydrolyse fairly readily and that will result in tissue going into solution (other than the fats of course). Sodium hydroxide is the stuff that is used to solubilize tissue in laboratories.

1. :bump: : with regard to comments/queries about acid...

2. And a great big "Welcome" to YOU, Tugela! Thanks for posting such helpful (and visually descriptive/ translated= yuck :)) information!

3. :wagon: :guitar: YOU ROCK!!

WTH is this?

http://www.reporternews.com/news/2011/jan/18/spokesman-evidence-may-have-been-found-case-missin/

On Tuesday, two men and a woman were seen coming out of the home of Adkin’s grandmother, who lives in the community of Dunn, 10 miles north of Colorado City.

The three unidentified individuals also were seen walking behind the Norwood house. The woman was seen holding a container and a latex glove.

I think it is Media hype.LE knows who they are and it may have been them.

my emphasis added here...along a different vein...have they checked all the family members of the families she has stayed with...do they check out? are any of them linked in any way to the "suspect"?

So....LE says that Billie is not being truthful, or holding back info, etc. We are to just ignore that?

If I could actually find it somewhere other than the little red box on Nancy, I would not ignore it.

If Sparky comes out and says "Billie Dunn is not being forthcoming and truthful with us. She is not telling us everything she knows."

Then, I will give it credibility... until then, something that only comes from the little red box on Nancy's show... I am going to consider a rumor.

I still have not found any articles where LE said anything about the acid, or about Billie not being truthful. So I'm not sure where Nancy got those two pieces of information.

I was surprised to even see a quote about finding a body to make an arrest from the city manager. So Nancy got that right... but I can't verify any of the others.

http://www.reporternews.com/news/2011/jan/18/spokesman-evidence-may-have-been-found-case-missin/

“As long as I can believe Hailey’s alive, I’m going to believe that,” she told Grace. Billie Jean Dunn said authorities have seized the sheets from Hailey’s bed. Grace reported that police are investigating whether Adkins had access to sulfuric acid.

However, Kampfer said no such information has been released by police.

Kampfer said officials have not said whether they plan to make an arrest soon.

“A body or bodily fluid would certainly bolster the case,” Kampfer said, “but I do not know what the prosecutors are planning.”

I think it is Media hype.LE knows who they are and it may have been them.

I am wondering if it WAS them.

One of my biggest concerns this whole time is that it does not appear this house was searched. That the place where the suspect is staying right now... did not appear to have been searched. He could have her in the basement/cellar/attic/under the porch and nobody would know, because they never searched.

So if this was LE in the house it would give me a bit more hope that maybe they got some sort of warrant. I so hope they have thoroughly searched both his Mom's and Grandma's houses. All we have heard for sure is that they took his Mom's computer but that was voluntary... until she wanted it back and they got the warrant to prevent her from taking it back.

Nothing about searching the houses thoroughly...

They could have also just been taking a DNA sample...
We know they took one from Billie and Clint earlier. Maybe they got a warrant to get it from Shawn to compare with any evidence they find?

are there any rental storage facilities in the area? have they run the cadaver dogs thru them?
