After 30 years, I hope the LE and the public know much more about domestic abuse.
2 out of 3 women who are victims of violence are related to the attackers
39% of women who present to the ER are victims of abuse.
75% of the calls to LE for domestic abuse occur after the partners separate
50% of female homicides are related to domestic abuse and happen after separtion of the relationship.
Domestic abuse is not to be taken lightly by LE,ever. It is when women are more likely to be murdered.

I am just trying to catch up after going to bed after midnight last night and had to respond to this post. It is sadly so true, especially the statistics of what occurs AFTER a separation. Thank you very much for this post. Thanks button was just not enough. Whatever happens in these cases, I am thankful for WS and the wonderful people here because we all come from so many walks of life and every single one of us care deeply about these victims and the loved ones of victims and want to help desperately.

Good Morning All! :)

IMO he had been planning memorable for a while something related to his fantasy world of S/M and all that goes with it. the day came he could not contain his fantasy and IF SA acted upon it and pressed the go button, then there was no stopping, HD possibly just was his means and he planned his opportunity ! And IMO there should be some souvenirs, or something he could go back to to relive this deed over and over again.
IMO let's put our heads together and style and profile with this sleuthing oportunity.
IS profiling allowed on WS? If it is amateur ? JW

I keep wondering if whatever he did, he did in that deer hunting area so the trail cameras would take pictures, then he took the memory cards with him and is making a video of that. Sorry if this has been discussed, I can't keep up.

WOW she should have stuck with her gut about not trusting him. She was also concerned SA would mess with her son if he went to the house, that is not a good sign. Messing with her son was an after thought, right after the TV and Xbox. JMO!

Maybe it was spontaneous. Initially she did not want him in the house but wasn't articulating what she was afraid he would do. Trash things? Steal things? She initially only said she did not trust him. Then she processed that thought and stated that she was concerned he would steal from her (I assume the breakup related to his misuse of her ATM card, giving her reason to think this was a possibility). Then it dawned on her that she wasn't totally sure he would not hurt her son, and said so. I think it was a gradual awareness of what sort of threat he might pose. If he later threatened ANYONE's life, it would show that her judgment was pretty good in this case, and LE kind of brushed her off. She seems to have recognized his capacity for violence, whether or not he had ever raised a hand to her or the kids before, perhaps on the basis of his fight with Clint?

I was pretty annoyed that NG last night indicated that SA had had domestic complaints but nothing violent. Since when is domestic abuse not violence? Threats of violence are abusive as well.

Please elaborate on this.

Re: Terri Horman

I assume it was a "jokey" comment about having someone hold the baby while she did away with her stepchild... as TH is suspected of doing.

Women DO kill children. Not only their children or stepchildren. Sometimes a little girl comes over to play with your daughter and turns up in a "stolen" suitcase. NOT that I am pointing a finger at MBGs mom, in this case. I do not know enough about her to say anything either way. I just mean that some things defy explanation. People commit crimes for no apparent reason sometimes, which makes them MUCH harder to catch.

I've been wondering for awhile now if either of them, BD or SA has ever been diagnosed with any mental health disorder. Watching SA on videos it's like he would make a good poster child for it.
I know sometimes families can turn a blind eye when it comes to people like SA comes across as being to me, but I just wouldn't be able to sleep if he were in my house....related or not...love him or not.
I wonder if he has a conscious. If someone doesn't have a conscious then how can they keep themselves in check? My opinion is they don't.
JMHO

The "And it's going to be remembered for a long time" comment...

I actually think it's GOOD that they have this on tape... not only does it keep those involved from backpedaling now (as they apparently were trying to do by denying the nature of the incident), but it also preculdes any potential defense attorney saying that the description of that incident was embellished to add those prejudicial words, since there's a verifiable recorded account dated Febuary 2010 and nobody is relying on memory/hindsight alone.

Could it be that the MHMR reference meant that they needed to dispatch an officer (if that exists in a small town) that is specially trained in dealing with people diagnosed with mental illness? I have no idea if any of them have been diagnosed with any type of mental illness - just throwing it out there because of the MHMR reference.

I believe she was putting him down. As in 'he's a mental case'.

it's supposed to stand for "Mental Health and Mental Retardation" as a field, can't find another meaning for acronym

http://consolidation.mhmr.state.tx.us/

TDMHMR(Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation) was the agency in Texas that provided services. Some years back Texas merged the MH and MR into two diffrent agencies. The link above shows what each new agency handles. I have never heard anyone refer to a person as being MHMR because it is actually an agency. Usually it is stated that this person needs the help of MHMR or they get services from MHMR. Interesting the way she put it...so I wonder if SA is receiving/ or has recieved services from MHMR?

hehe snap!

I was wondering about that as well. Would LE have any obligation to notify CD of this?

Probably only if they thought it was a credible threat. If these two were known as the "Bickersons" it may have been business as usual for him to rant, and LE didn't read too much into it.

LOL, I just have to say, being from TX and having this same exact opinion, it is making me think the statement "Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs" would have people looking into connections with the cereal company.

Sorry, people, I'm not trying to be snarky or anything like that, it just is starting to make me laugh.

in the one call she said she didn't have a car to come down and file a report....maybe she found a ride and showed up at the station a few times?
Don't forget, she also went to the station to report Hailey missing, did not call 911 that time either.

Well, they RECORD 911 calls, and your words can come back and bite you if you aren't careful. Walking in to the station would probably mean a less exact accounting of what she was reporting, with a lot more wiggle room.
