Well, it is the context of the threat Shawn made that is so bad, IMO. Quite a lot of people say, "I am going to kill you" when in actuality they do not really mean it. Shawn said it and added to it that it will be remembered for a long time. That is the part that bothers me. How many people who are merely 'bickering' add that extra statement? In my mind, that is what makes it a valid threat.

I think LE takes this kind of threat seriously. Why wouldn't they?

Shawn was/is a ticking time bomb, IMO, and did not need to be in that house with 2 young people after having made a statement such as that.

This is really bothering me. These 911 calls and this domestic happened WAY BEFORE any "bedtime stories" were ever printed out. I do believe he was into his masks tho.

So, BD forgives him, moves him in and then prints out articles about crimes that 'ARE GOING TO BE REMEMBERED FOR A LONG TIME". Now, to me, THAT is scary. And it also tells me that BD was, in no way, afraid of SA but more along the lines of sharing common interests - KWIM?

See, there it is again. Her kids hardly ever slept at that house. They were forever staying here or there and she had no clue. She says it right there - I don't know if he's home yet. Oh and also, she's said that she left the phone at the house for the kids. Well clearly she didn't this day. She even says that DD doesn't have a phone there. So sad.

That might be true, but we don't know that. Pretty broad statement to say they 'hardly ever' slept at that house, but IF it's true, then I would have to say it's very disturbing if they preferred to stay with friends all the time. As for covering for Shawn, I don't think it's as much that as it is trying to come to terms with her own indifference, and the fact that she didn't read the warning signs soon enough. Women can be so blind when it comes to the men they love. I could be all wrong, just have a hard time thinking she knows what happened and is covering up.

I can't help but think she was just clueless and never imagined the worst that could have happened. I pray that Hailey IS in hiding somewhere, and maybe if and when she comes home, Billie will do some serious damage control and make some important changes, and rethink allowing men like him into her life. I pray it's not too late for Hailey.

BD says that he was texting her. I bet those texts did exist and she probably showed the officers that showed up. LE took him in - they had to have something tangible in order to do that. IMO he not only said it - he "put it in writing".

I saw the tv,my point is if DD figured she had played from 9pm to midnight,three hours and she was in her room at 10 or 11pm,did she go back out into the living room to play?Was SA still up,etc.

His estimate may have been based on what she did prior to getting a TV in her room. It was a new addition, so perhaps her habits had only just changed, and while her USUAL behavior would have been to play XBOX until midnight before she got the TV, she quit early to go catch Nancy Grace... or a "comedy" video in her room.

I am feeling really sarcastic today. Maybe I ought to refrain from posting for a while.

New day. One of this first things that popped into my head this AM after reading to catch up was something other posters have asked. Where did this sulfuric acid idea come from? It was started on NG and was pretty shocking to most of us and the very first time we've ever heard anything about it. But again, where did it come from? LE has not made a statment one way or the other about it. Again, where did it come from?

My guess is that this is another "leak" by LE. I just don't think NG (or one of her producers) thunk this up and said "hey, let's run with it". She has a string of liability lawyers and they would have been all over it. Nope, not NG. Then who? My gut is telling me LE. Just like in the CA case - we got leaks. It would freak us out and we would scramble to try and either prove or disprove it. IIRC a lot of the leaks turned out to be spot on (not all).

So, IMO I do believe sulfuric acid might have played a role here - UGH! NG was just the vehicle used to convey this info to the public. What could have LE found that lef them down this road?

Why do you believe they did? I doubt there's a lot of extra money floating around that household. Billie isn't working. Is this becasue CZ took her online to try to get information about the cell phone records? My assumption was that this was done on CZs PC.

We also now know that a benefit fund has been set up for her by her friend, according to what that friend posted here. I don't know how many did or will donate to that. All I know is I didn't and I won't. Now a benefit fund that was overseen by someone else for the search efforts for HD, YES I'd donate to that!

I think I'd remember calling 911 on my DH (or anyone, for that matter) if he threatened to kill me, even if it were eleven years ago. MOO

I think Billie does remember the 911 calls very well. Domestic violence usually starts out rather small and winds up getting very serious very fast.

Maybe today will be Hailey's day, belimom. I certainly hope so!

The only thing the 911 calls convince me of is that BD and SA were/are manipulators. With each other and probably with everyone else. If BD was concerned about SA going into the house to get his shirt, it seems like she would have locked up before leaving for work. For all I know she might have wanted him to get the shirt while she was home so she could convince him not to leave her. All in all I'm still convinced that if one of them did something to Hailey the other was just as involved. IMHO only.

Threatening suicide after a break up. What happened between call number one and call number three? How much texting was going on? It starts off with her worried about SA taking her electronics to him calling saying she is threatening suicide? Manipulative and dysfunctional on both sides. If you leave me I will kill myself. And what kind of pills are we talkin' about here?

We can all agree Hailey's mom is not going to be Mother of the Year ever.

We can all agree Hailey's mom brought into their lives the focus of the investigation into her disappearance.

This makes me angry like it does all of you I'm sure.

But what Hailey's mother did to earn money, what she does in other areas of her personal life, as unseemly to us as it all may be, is not directly connected to the disappearance of her daughter.

What we know is connected to the investigation is her boyfriend. And we have found out that she appeared to have lied about threats to herself and Hailey from this guy.

That makes me sick but that doesn't mean I will allow Websleuths to go down to the gutter to discuss and trash the areas of her life that do not have to do with Hailey's disappearance.

WHY WE DO WE WANT TO KNOW ALL THE UNSEEMLY PARTS OF HER LIFE?

The only reason we do is because it is disgusting and makes us mad.

But by discussing her past (which is not connected to what is going on now) how does that help with the case?

All it does is trash a mother, and as little I think of her parenting skills she is a mother, who is missing her daughter.

I spoke to Marc Klaas tonight. He asked me to please help everyone to keep on track with what is really important right now.

And that is Hailey. Not what her mother has done in her past that makes us cringe as parents.

Please let's keep Websleuths above the all the gossip crap that has NOTHING to do with the case.

When I speak to Brad Dennis (The head of the KlaasKids Search Team and is in Texas tonight) and ask him what we can do to help his team find Hailey I can guarentee you he is not going to ask us to find out what Billie did for a living.

I don't believe there was a search warrant for the shed. It is BD's property and she gave consent. No warrant needed. I don't think we're gonna hear much about that shed or why they went back there twice. I do think it just might be a very integral piece to this puzzle.

The clues to finding Hailey will lay in the preceding hours or days, or in the timeline of events.

LE is being tight lipped except to say SA is a suspect, followed by there are lots of other suspects too.

BD appears in the media to ask for our help in finding Hailey, but her deceit makes her every statement questionable.
In order to separate the fact from the fiction we must dissect each statement for it's truthfullness, and digging into private life is the only way to ascertain this.

We are faced with 3 options.
Run away --- everyone agrees that this is unlikely, and BD came seeking help to point away from this scenario. (subsequent sleuthing shows that BD lied about home situation, drugs, violence and a questionable boyfriend, so is this possibility still on the table?)

Abducted by someone other than SA--- This is the scenario favored by BD, it doesn't reflect on her parenting, it allows for her boyfriend to be cleared, and it's the rationale behind many of her lies .....look over here ------> points finger away from SA.

Killed --- Apart from being unbearable to imagine for a parent, it is also a scenario that would point towards the last person(s) to see her, which is of course SA. Without sleuthing BD and SA we would have accepted that SA was the distraught, doting step parent, without a speck on his character and a thriving business selling and trading horror masks.


Since the only source of information is BD and BD has shown that she is a liar, then we are faced with no real insight into her last days at home. Mr Klaas has asked us to concentrate on finding Hailey. Admirable if you have reliable 'information' with which to begin this search.

Maybe Mr Klaas could tell us where to begin and how (or IF) we can be of help.

Printing and placing posters is only useful if there is hope that she is still alive, BD's actions/reactions/inactions have led me to believe that Hailey was probably dead before she was reported as missing.

So without being able to question the actions of BD, with the only insiders simply repeating and defending BDs inconsistencies. I feel like I'm being 'directed' as to what I should post/ask/believe.

I'm so sorry Hailey, you deserved so much better. The adults (ALL of them) in your life let you down. If you are alive and well, congrats on escaping the nightmare, if you are not, then snuggle up closely to Jesus and whisper to searchers who are looking to find you.

Which is what we saw in the affidavits which I will believe.
I don't understand why SA wasn't charged with threats then. If he were then there would have been a no-contact-communication order in place would there not?

there is a possibility it really is "all a blur" for her in that it was all so upsetting and maybe even alcohol and drug fuelled and so frightenig that some of it was shut out, I can imagine that actually. She might not necessarily mean she doesn't remember but rather the whole thing is blurry. Some of the most traumatic events in my life I could actually say "are all a blur" -just thinking

If I'm remembering right - and unless things have changed - an arrest can be made if there's reason to believe someone presents a danger to themselves or others. And, yes, if there was proof, or if someone else heard/saw the threat, I'd be much more willing to believe BD.
