why did BD have to pacify herself by seeing Hailey in the morning in her bed?
ad BD was used to her children runing all over the place,
stayig with who ever and not at home,
so why the panic when Haley wasn't home by noon?
BD suspected something JMOO

It was probably because she was NOT at all home and Clint was the closest to where Hailey was last seen. I don't see the issue people are having with her asking Clint to call the police. To me it makes sense because as I said Billie was NOT at all home and Clint was there for LE to talk to etc. Time is of the essence here and I can completely understand why she would want to get the ball rolling. You figure a lot of time would have passed by if Billie would have waited to call LE.

She waited until the following afternoon to check on her daughter who supposedly went to a friend's to sleep over without asking permission. And NOW time is of the essence?

Why wouldn't she ask Clint and her son to try and call some more of Hailey's friends or relatives first?

Right, but didn't Billy also say she stopped at home in case Hailey came home? Then she proceeded to text friends, etc.? I do find this strange.

But this shouldn't matter or be an issue in my honest opinion. If Clint was to call LE and tell them she was coming there and why they would have already at least know why she was going there so either way they would have been alerted. JMO here.

Informal poll, thank this post if you have ever called the police station to tell them you were on the way to the police station to file a report.

Usually when you dial 911 you get the local p.d. station perhaps if she had called from Snyder she would have gotten the wrong station where him calling from CC he would have gotten the right one.
They would have transferred her to the proper jurisdiction.

Well I am from a small town you would never think of anything like this happening. I used to stay with my childhood best friend all the time and my mom never called to check in. I'm sure if she had any idea that Hailey would have gone missing she would have done that.

No because I thought they were like Motel 6. The light is always on.:waitasec:

I take it your and your friend's parents had actually met before, right?

Didn't she call them from Snyder before? In the 911 calls...?

Yes, she did.
I had an issue in Florida where I had to hang up and call another number to report something in another county.

not always in small areas, from experience they may be on another call or simply at home and often you are re-routed to a different call center

much different than larger cities

Well, where I live, we don't have a police station, we just have county sheriffs. I also have never had to call or make a report to LE since moving out of my parent's home. The only time I've called before, I was still a minor and under extreme stress, I just did what I knew to do, call 911.

So trying to figure out BD's thinking on this. The LE staff is very small in that town. Two officers, correct? Maybe she wanted to make sure someone would be there by the time she was ready to file the report, and she preferred doing it at the station?

Well, if I lived in that town who used the city manager for a LE spokesman, I am pretty sure I would. jmo

He also could have wanted to act out his violence fantasies. That's why Elizabeth Olten was murdered. :(

Yes - Elizabeth's Olten's murderer - Alyssa Bustamante - wanted to "know what it felt like".

Based on what we've read & heard about SA - I would not be surprised if evidence arises to support a similar scenario. I speculated about it awhile ago.

Were the couches she got rid of the the ones Hailey used to sleep on before she got the TV in her room and started to sleep in there?

IF so.. I just gotta say.. I had a cat get outside on accident one time and go missing... I hung onto his kitty bed for 3 years before I finally freecycled it. I couldn't part with anything that reminded me of my kitty.. for the love of everything holy i cannot even imagine how I'd react about their possessions and things that reminded me of them if 1 of my children went missing!!
I just thought the couch thing is kinda odd.. i realize someone gave her new ones I've only ever owned second hand furniture and between kids and pets my current sectional has rips all over it.. so I'd love new furniture or even NEW to me furniture.. but no way I'd part with anything that reminded me of my daughter.. not yet.. maybe years down the road....I dunno.. just my rambling thoughts.. back to lurking instead of posting.......

And Alyssa Bustamante was a teenager. Who's to say there isn't an Alyssa around Haley somewhere.

That's what I'm thinking too.
