I really, really looked at the morgue photo comparison, and while they are similar, your attachment showed me just how fine/delicate WCJD's features were.

For awhile, I thought she might be Simone Ridinger, but now I can see that is impossible. Mary Jo is much closer, but I think this young girl was really just exceptionally pretty/unusual looking. Which makes it even stranger that no one recognizes her.

I think maybe she really WAS far from home, and not a local. Maybe she is someone who was trafficked and missing for a long time? This is just baffling.

Edited: I don't mean it to sound as though they are all not pretty, Only that this girl seems truly striking/unusual bone structure/appearance.

I went back and stared again though and want Mary Jo to match..GAH!

Aransas Pass Junior High School existed once upon a time but no longer. I’ve been meaning to call APISD to ask if they keep historical yearbooks, but with my full time job, it’s been difficult. If we could locate yearbooks from ‘75-‘80 or thereabouts, we could see if Karley recognizes her classmate.

I found the historical Aransas Pass yearbooks online. I didn't have to pay or join anything. They have the high school yearbooks up, and it was mentioned that they are working on uploading some middle school yearbooks, but it's been a year or so since that was mentioned.

Aww I know, it is sad isn't it. My 1st thought about both these girls was 'Did nobody care?.. so to learn of Mary Jo having family who are actively looking for her is good. But in knowing that, I had to look didn't I.. and came across this. Which just throws a spanner right in the works because if this version were true, that would mean Mary Jo enrolled in Gardena High sometime during 1980?? It is bizarre to me X

Oh wow....that throws the timeline again, doesn't it?

I wish we were allowed to contact people on forums. Maybe they will find there way here somehow and share ideas.

I am just not seeing the resemblance...

I am sorry to interrupt the detective work, but... Do not forget that (1) @CarlK90245 strongly suggests that WCJD is not listed in any missing persons databases (unless added very, very recently); (2) if someone is reported missing, DNA is taken from the relatives for future comparisons with Jane/John Does. WCJD had DNA data extracted that was good enough to enter it into CODIS and compare her to a lot of (known) missing teens or young adults. With that being said, you can suggest a possible match to LE, but always consider these points.

The reasons I believe that WCJD could be Mary Jo are because 1, a photograph of her elusive older b/f was circulated and to date he remains unidentified - WCJD was reportedly murdered whilst trying to get to an all Male prison with no prisoner admitting to recognising her picture.
No.2 reason is Mary Jo timeline varies widely between vanishing within a matter of weeks from the discovery of WCJD, to beyond 14 months after! Mary Jo was not reported for a number of years.
No.3, The last known photographs taken of Mary Jo show her to be wearing red sandals - WCJD was found alongside a pair of red sandals. Mary Jo fits with the age, height, weight as reported. Also with regards to DNA,. Somebody on here mentioned that NAMUS would not check Mary Jo since her disappearance date is given as being after WCJD discovery -. This could leave WCJD unidentified for more years to come. I thought CODIS was a criminal database? Regardless, if random testing was done then Mary Jo would be on the Rule Out list already. But despite all this, the lack of encouragement in here has me 2nd guessing on it X

Thread is open again. Sorry it took so long but other matters were pressing.

Links are required to ALL images. No link, no post. This becomes a problem when a member posts a very detailed post and then includes an image w/o a link. The whole post is removed and all responses to it. This is not fair to members who put time and thought into responding to an original post that had to be removed.

Do not post images of random people and do not post information or images of people who are not known to be missing.

If it is against The Rules to link to a certain site, it is definitely against the rules to post a screenshot from that site.

Thank you.

Sorry for any inconvenience my non posting of Links caused. All images I obtained of Mary Jo Long were from LE posters and Mary Jo Long (missing person) FB page. All are open for public viewing. I screenshot the majority purposely for side by side comparison in collage frames. I apologise.
I literally don't have time to do it again since it took me 2 days of sleuthing to gather what I see as useful information. I tried submitting Mary Jo for DNA comparison but could not even register with NameUs since I live outside of the US. My suspicions remain the same, that Mary Jo Long could be WCJD. It is so frustrating X

Victoria:If you are able to view e-mails for investigators, you should e-mail them directly. (I do not believe you have to do this via NAMUS? The information should be out there?) Since you seem drawn to Mary Jo's case, perhaps contact the lead investigator for her case first and see if it is possible that the dates may be off? Just send your summary of why you feel Mary Jo could be WCJD. Seems simple enough. I don't see why it should matter which country you live in. Good luck!

edited to add: Here is a link for WCJD that has contact information:
91UFTX

And one for Mary Jo: 3148DFCA - Mary Jo Lee Long

Mary Jo's is a phone number, FYI

You don't have to be registered to submit. You can email, call, or snail mail the LE contacts listed in Namus--that information is usually publicly viewable. Another option is to submit through the Doenetwork, which has a form you fill out.

The screenshots would have been okay if you also included the links to where you got the photos. I'm sorry you lost so much work.

If you want to go through NamUs to submit, click on Contacts for WCJD. On the left you will see "Contact NamUs" with the RPS name and email link. Just copy and paste and the email link into your regular email acct (gmail, yahoo, etc). You don't need to register or be logged in to NamUs.

The RPS for WCJD is:
The Regional Program Specialist contact for this case is Michael Nance

Has Julie Soracco from California ever been mentioned? She was in foster care and reported missing by grandfather.
Physical description matches up.

Julie Elizabeth Soracco
Has thread on here..
Missing from California in 77 or 78...they are not even sure!
Moved between foster care and grandfather, who did not even want her case publicised.
Was apparently reported missing quite sometime later..
