Could she have had a friend or relative that lived there at some point? If you lie about where you are from it's usually a place you can easily remember. Even if you never were there yourself. Whether you are a teenage runaway, trying to prevent a creeper at a bar from finding you on facebook or trying to ditch a stalker, you might pick a place that isn't connected to you directly. I wonder if she had an accent.I was looking through a Rockport fb page and I was wondering if WCJD said she was from that area because she had been vacationing there that summer. Its not uncommon for families to have beach houses. I have seen a couple different names thrown out by locals as possible identities. I know they have been mentioned here but I haven't seen that anything came of it. If she was just a summer resident it would explain why she wasn't known to any of the schools or known around the community. Her reason for lying could be that she feared her parents/guardians had reported her as a runaway and that people would be looking for her.

I'm sure this question has been asked but have Aransas Pass or Rockport year books been checked for a student resembling Jane Doe?
Yes. CarlK has and I think a few others have, too.
I remember high school yearbooks being checked, to the best of their availability, but I can't remember if middle school yearbooks were checked? If she were at the lower end of the age range or had dropped out, she might be in a middle school book.
He left her where she would definitely be found. I'm wondering how he wasn't seen on the side of the road while he took her body from the vehicle. Unless he was parked on a side road and came toward the highway from that way.
But was she that close to the road? It was a trucker that ended up spotting her so that makes it sound like she was not readily seen.He wouldn't even have to leave the vehicle. He could just open the passenger door and push her out. The truck would provide a screen if anybody did go past.
And trucks stop beside the road all the time to check the tires or the ties on their load. Even if somebody saw him, they wouldn't likely think anything of it.

True. I don't know what it looked like back then but today you have a few sloping ditches but a lot of the time they are just nearly flat areas. There side roads running along side 45 and their distance varies in different areas. It is also possible to park on the side of those roads and not necessarily be visible to traffic on 45. The trees might have been closer to the road then too. There are still big areas where the dead trees are still standing after the fire a few years ago.I don't mean to be gross, but most roadsides are sloped, and anything pushed out of a vehicle tends to roll, especially if the vehicle is in motion...
