Actually I think that looks a lot like her when comparing to the post mortem photos. It really does look like she has a scar too.

she he does slightly resemble the recon, but the age is way off and Ruthie's nose is much smaller, and her chin is more dainty. Ruthie had a distinctive face imo. Good catch though, they are kinda similar!

Does she look pregnant here?

Agreed, don't think she is Ruthie. I think she was a lot younger and agree with zelda_s, she had a distinctive look.

IMHO the closest recent match is Mary Louise Day. Her photo on Charley is so bad, though. I'd love to see if a match could come out of it.
If she's not Mary, then I think she is probably not in the system.

FYI to all, I was just looking at the NAMUS file and see the Date Last Modified date is showing this morning (Nov 5, at 10:11). I don't know what was modified...others may have higher access levels than I do. Maybe an exclusion?

To get from Monterey County CA to Walker County Texas is is almost a direct route Via I-10E. IF this would be Mary, one could see her hitching a ride with a trucker, or truckers, given the directness of that route.

Roxanne Easland was excluded

10 doesn't go to Monterey... if it does, it is not a very large road there. I believe 10 ends in the LA area.

Yes, the I-10 ends in Santa Monica (Los Angeles County) right at the Pacific Ocean, before turning northward as Highway 1.

Monterey to santa monica is like 6 hours too. blah. I did the san jose to garden grove drive last Friday. 7 hours. with a bored toddler.

I saw a comment on the Never Forget Me page...is it against the rules to copy it because this comment really intrigues me.

"My mother in law lived in aransas pass/Rockport area in the 80s and remembers a lady telling her that her daughter had left n she was under 18. She was a Bullard (a known family frm that area)"

I'd be interested to know what could come from this.

Wow, that's interesting. I did a quick Google search of Bullard family Texas, it appears there is a town called Bullard in Texas. I also got some ancestry results but the birth dates were very very old. I'm new to sleuthing so I'm not sure what to do with that info. I really hope Ruthie can get her name back soon, I've been following this thread closely.

There is a guy with that surname who went to Aransas Pass HS in the late 90's.

ETA: And another with the same surname who went to Rockport HS in the early 2000's

Also on the Never Forget me page on FB there was a guy who says he was adopted and might be her brother, it was the second posting of it from a few days ago. I told him to contact proper authorities in Walker County. Maybe seperated as kids and both adopted to different families perhaps and they were saying on updated post that the scar is not a conclusive clue which is confusing. 😦

Can you send me the link to the comment please? There's so many posts on there, I get confused.
That sounds possible. I am so happy her case is getting attention. I have a feeling she will go home soon!

They've also added Rachel Garden to her exclusions list.

Those sound like 2 promising leads. I am in the middle of trying to get some papers that I wrote for college published but if I can be of any help please let me know! I really want Ruthie to have her name back.
