Lt Perkins said they only have mDNA on our Jane Doe ( I can't remember the name of the DNA he said they didn't have but it started with a n) being as they only have mitochondrialDNA is the reason they need to compare to a female family member?? Maybe a member with better DNA understanding can explain that part to us. But also Melinda (aka Mindy) had had a broke arm, wouldnt they be able to see that in bones if our Jane Doe has or has not had a broke arm?? I've spent today reading all I can on melinda .. I know my long absence may seem like I've at times forgot out Jane Doe, but I never have .. I want so bad for her to have her name and her past back.. And her family to have peace and closure.. Next week when I speak again with Perkins I will point out the possibility of dental and a broke arm on Melinda.. As matter of fact I will email him so I'll remember we need to touch on those topics..

Okay, yes, if they only have mDNA for our girl, then they would need a relative through the female line -- brother or sister, mother's siblings by the same mother, mother's mother, children of sisters, somebody like that. It's so annoying that Namus no longer indicates what kind of DNA they have or where it's stored. Makes it so hard to tell whether it's a ruleout by default.

The broken arm isn't definitive. Depending on how old she was when she broke it, it could have healed completely enough to not be visible by xray.

Oh and my theory about Melinda looking for a father at Ellis Unit is shot.. I read post from people claiming to know her family and they said the fathers name is Harold Creech and it seems he was around possibly even living in the home but didn't participate much with the children.. It even stated he never abused the kids but would go along with whatever the mom said.. ?!?!?

Another dent in my theory.. Melinda reportedly had blue eyes our Doe had hazel eyes.. :( still gonna keep her in mind just in case the unlikely hood Melinda's family got her eye color wrong ( for example my kids have hazel eyes but they pop blue when wearing any shade of blue.. They also change according to their mood) but my excitement has dimmed some...

We've seen eye color be off on UID reports before.

Disappeared when she was only 12 in 1976, so the height would obviously be off....

Khymberly Scruggs
https://www.findthemissing.org/cases/6984/0/
Mentioned several times but never submitted. She has a chipped tooth which is not mentioned in any of Jane Doe's reports, but it looks like they have a similar necklace. Also Khymberly believed to have been murdered the night she disappeared.

I received a call from Lt Perkins today. One piece of news is he is retiring this month. He has giving me the name I the new Lt taking over it's Fullwood. They are meetin next week to up date the new LO on our case.. And he assured me I could still all about the case. Other info he gave is in re: to Melinda Creach.. The detectives workin her case have confirmed the surviving family no longer wishes to participate in the investigation. But the det. Has sent nuclear and mitro DNA to tx. Dps lab .. No math has been made yet.. Bit that could mean the DNA hasn't been ran yet. My daughter asked an interesting why couldn't they get fingerprints from a possible perp off the sandles.. So asked him.. And dang if I can't forget what he said.. I'll have to ask him again.. He did email me an updated list of rule outs.. As soon as I can figure out how to post that I will..

Submitted Kerry Graham by e-mail to Dr. Derrick (copy to Michael Nance)

  • #399
Dr. Derrick promptly replied.

... I do see the facial resemblance between Kerry Ann Graham and our PA80-0254. However, thanks to you, I have discovered that the information in NCIC and NamUs for PA80-0254 has the wrong height entered. She was measured at 66”. I will correct the online records today. I don’t think that Kerry could have grown 7 inches in a year if the height reported for her is correct. Still, I will look closer at the match.

(emphasis added by me)

That's interesting. That is the first I've ever heard that WCJD was that tall.

I've seen a wide variety in height for WCJD... It's always been curious to hy since they found her so soon there wasn't a more exact height .. I also don't think it's outta the question she could grow that much in a year at that stage/ age of life. I shot up almost that much between 8th and 9th grade.. I was a rolls Polly in 8th grade and grew into my "fluffy" by 9th..
