Jason's black bag had drugs inside per Fox7 Austin's news broadcast.

Hmmm yep. I actually suspected. I hope to God he didn’t cross paths with one of these types I mentioned in my earlier post.
You are probably thinking of TikTok. I’m betting he used twitch and discord as well.

I had looked into the crime rate in Luling and then researched two murders and discovered two cousins were shot by a guy from Austin probably on meth. (Not sure why he was in Luling)Austin man charged in Caldwell Co. double homicide | kvue.com

Then that led to looking up drugs in Luling. It seems to me there might be a problem with Meth in the small town of under 6k people. From this FBI operation, two from the Texas Syndicate gang linked to the Mexican Cartel were indicted and lived in Luling in the first linked article, and another in the second article. 17 Texas Syndicate Members and Associates Arrested Based on Federal Indictment Alleging Meth/Heroin Trafficking in and around Austin
https://www.justice.gov/usao-wdtx/p...es-arrested-based-federal-indictment-alleging
Drug raids lead to 12 arrests, who may have ties to Mexican drug cartels

Makes me wonder if Jason happened across the wrong people.

Yes, we don't know what they used. It could have been an article of clothing, his wallet, or the scent from the drivers seat.

I think it's true that most single car accidents don't turn out like this, but there have been cases similar to this where the victim was not found for several days or was never found at all.

If he was injured, in shock, and wandered away from the scene of the accident there is probably very little chance he could have survived this long without food or water.

He may be out there somewhere and they just haven't found him yet.
Sad for me to say, but I think this is what happened.
However, now with news of drugs being found , we don't know if small amount for just his personal use, but under the influence could cause confusion, especially after an accident.
Or -- was it a significant amount as to selling it ??
And he was making a pit stop around the area and got mixed up with wrong people?

Oh, dear.. I was so sure he stumbled away, with injuries and succumbed to injuries and the elements.
Now, I am not so sure.

My heart is sinking because somehow I knew it was coming, but I was hoping Jason would be found before the world started picking him apart. This news could be the tip of an iceberg or it could be a pain reliever he was prescribed, but now his life will be dissected in every way. I feel for his family, and wish peace for them.

New moon. No moonlight at all.

Were there clouds, or did he have starlight, at least?

Okay, I just saw someone post that it was rainy—so maybe a VERY dark night.

Also, when the dad was contacted by the media about the drugs in the backpack, this is the first time he heard about it!! It seems crazy he would have to get this information from a news reporter!
Maybe investigators did not tell the family since it is an active investigation. I wonder how the media got the information. Did they say if it was a significant amount of drugs? All I heard was the weather forecast.

Hm good question. I’ll look! Either way without a moon or streetlights it would have been super dark.

Ok, I only caught tail end of report but saying narcotics found in backpack. Dad said "any parent of a college student would be naive to not think they could be exposed to drugs" and to keep praying for Jason.
Wondering if this is one of the items that was given to the parents and later retrieved? Also wondering if this is why the dad said in one of his statements “we forgive you“.

I think the 'forgive you' was about totaling the vehicle.
I imagine parents would have gone through his backpack. But it may have been hidden and of small quantity, some weed for the holidays.

IMO I don’t think that’s what his dad meant. He said we should forgive our children because we’re all sinners. I had a feeling it was about something specific.
Do they call weed narcotics? I thought narcotics were primarily opiates these days?

The 5:00 broadcast was live at that link. Before it started their recorded midday news broadcast was available for viewing so I bet eventually the 5:00 one shows up.

I have NEVER heard "weed" called a narcotic.
But that's just me and JMO

Just looked at Fox 7 Austin's website, no recent video or article,
Maybe investigators did not tell the family since it is an active investigation. I wonder how the media got the information. Did they say if it was a significant amount of drugs? All I heard was the weather forecast.
They didn't specify how much, just that narcotics found in his backpack.
