LOL I was thinking the same thing. Drunk sleepwalking is very common and you do some really weird things! I don’t know if this occurs with smoking weed, but it’s a thought. If he were high, wrecked and fell asleep while waiting for help maybe he could have undressed and slept walked away. But where the heck would he be? He could have walked into water? Or woke up and was embarrassed to be naked and hid and then became hypothermic?
IMO, not the way it was being transported (per the evidence photos on CCSO fb).Would the amount of pot that was in his bag be enough to make a car smell of Marijuana?
Fresher from NBC on the facts as we know them. I still believe any reference to "digital footprint" refers to the instrument not being used -- data or minutes. Evidence located 900 feet consistent with prior reports. Also, I did not recall the accident occurring on the east side of the roadway (SFR) reported before.

But it’s the approximate 67-minute window between Jason’s last digital footprint and the discovery of the crash scene that investigators are focusing on. Investigators say Jason’s phone, which was found between the driver’s seat and center console, was on and had a signal, so they are still trying to figure out why it appears unused since the intersection at Magnolia Avenue.
“There are 67 minutes where we just don't know what happened,” Jason’s father told Dateline. “Was someone chasing him? Maybe. Did he just wreck and get out to find help? We don’t know. Anything is a possibility.”
Troopers who responded to the crash scene found Jason’s backpack, ball cap, toiletries and a tumbler with his dead betta fish in it on the road about 900 feet away. They say the backpack contained a small amount of marijuana, a laptop and gaming equipment.
“Any report stating that the backpack was ‘filled’ with narcotics is inaccurate. The small amount of marijuana has been seized and is being held,” the sheriff’s office stated in the press release.
Jason’s father arrived at the scene just a few hours later to find some of his son’s clothes, including a shirt, shorts, underwear, and a wristwatch, scattered on the roadway about 900 feet from the crash scene.

Officials say the 67-minute window between his last digitally known whereabouts and the crash scene is what investigators are focusing on. They say his cell signal was powered on, but they are trying to determine why the phone doesn't appear to have been used since the area of Magnolia Avenue and Austin Street.
The sheriff's office said the crash only involved his own vehicle, and it was likely caused from overcorrecting on the gravel road and spinning off the roadway. His rear, driver's side corner struck a tree on the east side of the roadway, spinning the front driver's side into another tree and a barbed-wire fence. His rear window was broken from the impact.
Interesting. Hmm.IMO, not the way it was being transported (per the evidence photos on CCSO fb).
By east side of the roadway, I am assuming that's the right side/passenger's side which is consistent with everything I heard. Thats the same side of the road with the abandoned houses further south. That seems right I think.Fresher from NBC on the facts as we know them. I still believe any reference to "digital footprint" refers to the instrument not being used -- data or minutes. I still wonder why he didn’t pull over somewhere and try to find his phone if he had dropped it at the intersection? There was a park nearby..... Or was the phone between the seat and console because of the wreck?I believe you are correct. I found this definition:
A digital footprint is a unique data trace of a user’s activities, actions, communications or transactions in digital media. This data trace can be left on the internet, computers, mobile devices or other mediums. A digital footprint can be used to track the user's activities and devices. A user can leave digital footprint either actively or passively, but once shared, a digital footprint is almost permanent in nature.
This digital footprint can be shared actively or passively. In active data trace, users share their activities intentionally, like social media activities, online chatting, phone calls or blog posts. Here the data is shared publicly or semi-publicly.
In passive data trace, the footprint is created unintentionally. Here the users do not share the data, but the trace is left behind, and it can be used to track back the users' activities. It includes activities like searching the internet, browsing websites, online purchases, online forms or online surveys.
It's very helpful to know for sure what that means. It may mean he dropped his phone between the seats at the beginning of the 67 minute window. Something caused him to no longer be online (Waze, Snapchat, whatever).

The oil worker has come up before. From what we now know, that is JL's car was on the east side of SFR with lights on after the accident, it would have been nearly impossible for the worker not to notice it, if it was there.RSBM
How certain is the oil worker? Because if Jason crashed within 10 minutes of the intersection, he would've had A LOT of time to walk... he could've succumbed to the cold miles away...

Would the amount of pot that was in his bag be enough to make a car smell of Marijuana?
IF he did, he must have either taken it with him which would mean it might not reek as much in the car since it was going with him, OR it wasn’t found after, OR it wasn’t disclosed to us, which I find hard to believe considering the Fox report with DPS contents shown did not include anything else. The fox release was supposedly due to FOIA request.IF he smoked a joint, pipe, bong or whatever in the car shortly before the wreck, the car would likely reek. And that pot wouldn’t have been in the recovered bag.

Well we really don’t know how long it took him to get from the intersection to the crash site 5 miles away. 67 minutes later is just when the first responder found him, but he could have crashed right after the oil worker passed by at 11:3o. I personally think this is probably the case but we just don’t know for sure.I'm concerned he may have been involved in a road rage that may have started before JL arrived at the intersection of E Austin & Magnolia (TxH80 becomes E Austin entering Luling), and JL blew straight through the light and didn't stop even for his phone drop.
All we know is that from the time he stopped using his phone, he spent 67 minutes to reach a location (crash site 2300 block SFR) that was approx 5 miles from the intersection.
The road rage incident may have been real or a hallucination.
I'm heartbroken for his folks -- they need their son recovered, now.

I agree - as the photos appear to show the rolled joints were stored in a prescription pill bottle. I think that’s pretty common — for users to transport MJ in pill bottles specifically to mask the smell.IMO, not the way it was being transported (per the evidence photos on CCSO fb).
