This poor woman...she must have been beyond terrified. I hope she can recover. What a hideous crime...
Oh my goodness. I am so thankful she was found and I hope she can recover from this. What in the world is going on in that town?
I guess I missed the part that this was a stalker she had told friends about...was wondering how she was found.

Officials say a blue compact car witnesses reported seeing outside the woman's home the day she went missing led to an extensive investigation and eventually the arrest of Maxwell, 58.

Affidavit: Missing woman `strung up' on deer rack
DALLAS — An affidavit alleges that a Texas man kidnapped and tortured a 62-year-old woman by tying her to a homemade rack used for skinning deer.
The probable cause affidavit says the 58-year-old Maxwell acknowledged taking the woman at gunpoint and driving her to his home, where he "strung her up" on the rack in his garage.
Cops eye 'house of horrors' suspect in 2 cold cases
Martha Martinez Maxwell first went missing in 1987 before being found beaten with her throat cut near Ardmore, Okla. She survived those injuries. Jeffrey Maxwell was charged with aggravated kidnapping in that case in 1987, but court records show a Tarrant County grand jury declined to indict him, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
Fowler also said his office will take another look at the case of a Parker County woman who has not been seen since her mobile home burned to the ground in 2000. He declined to elaborate. It's unclear if Maxwell knew that woman, but the case appears to have similarities to the recent case of the rescued woman whose house was set ablaze after she was abducted.
"There's no one in Shonda Townsend's family who hasn't heard about the Jeff Maxwell kidnap case.
It's all they can think about.
Townsend disappeared mysteriously last year near her home. Maxwell's alleged kidnapped victim lives just 15 minutes away.
"Just gets in your mind, you know?" said Dalton Townsend, whose daughter vanished in July. "Just lay awake at night, wondering.
Investigators are looking for possible connections between accused kidnapper Jeff Maxwell and other missing persons cases in North Texas.
Maxwell is accused of abducting a 62-year-old Parker County woman and brutalizing her for nearly two weeks.
Maxwell was arrested at his home near Corsicana on Saturday; the woman was hospitalized.
The other cases date back to 1992, with the disappearance of the suspect's ex-wife, Martha Maxwell.
Then — in 2000 — Amy Smith vanished after her Parker County home burned to the ground.
I find it very interesting that L. is in protective custody. Why would that be when her kidnapper is already in custody?
It could be to protect her from herself, if she's still confused or in emotional turmoil from her ordeal.

According to the affidavit, Maxwell says he was paid $2,500 by unnamed individuals to make the woman "go away."
