This poor woman...she must have been beyond terrified. I hope she can recover. What a hideous crime...

oh my , bless her heart...so sad... I hope she will recover

Thank god she has been found. If I was a guessing person, there are so many higher ups active in the townsend case, this case received priority with possible connection. I still will not rule out that possibility.

There is supposed to be a press conference today.

Another article with more photos.

I would like to know EXACTLY which plot of land he lived on in reference to Ms. P. I also find it curious she is in protective custody even though this monster is locked up.

I don't think this is going to be the end of this.

Oh my goodness. I am so thankful she was found and I hope she can recover from this. What in the world is going on in that town?

OMG.... he has a missing ex wife too????

http://corsicanadailysun.com/breakingnews/x449491974/-I-m-here-woman-cried

As lawmen approached the rural Navarro County home of Jeffrey Maxwell Saturday, the 58-year-old man came out of the home and told them he knew nothing about the missing Parker County woman they were looking for.

That’s when investigators heard a noise coming from inside the house,
said Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler.

“She came bursting out the door screaming ‘I’m here, I’m here,’”
Fowler told the Daily Sun Monday. “They immediately placed (Maxwell) under arrest.”

Fowler said he did not know if there were any other possible victims of Maxwell.

He confirmed that Maxwell has an ex-wife who is believed to be missing.

“I don’t know what that’s all about ... I know that she disappeared and don’t know of anybody that ever heard from her again,” Fowler said. “I don’t know what the truth of that matter is.”

In addition to a search of Maxwell’s home on SECR 3124, Fowler confirmed authorities also used a game warden’s boat to search a lake near the home with a cadaver dog.

So very glad she has been found. Wonderful work by LE.

I too hope she can recover and be healthy in all aspects again.

I also hope that the person who is in jail, can be found guilty,
and spend many years in jail.

http://www.dallasnews.com/news/crim...n-who-vanished-including-suspects-ex-wife.ece
Investigators have their eye on at least two old cases of missing women after a 62-year-old North Texas woman was rescued. Maxwell’s ex-wife Martha Martinez-Maxwell, who disappeared in the early 1990s, when Maxwell was living in Fort Worth.
He said, however, his department is now re-examining a case from 2000, when Amelia Smith, 51, disappeared around the time her house and car near Azle caught fire.

I guess I missed the part that this was a stalker she had told friends about...was wondering how she was found.

There's also this:

Officials say a blue compact car witnesses reported seeing outside the woman's home the day she went missing led to an extensive investigation and eventually the arrest of Maxwell, 58.

I find it very interesting that L. is in protective custody. Why would that be when her kidnapper is already in custody?

Disturbing details in new article...

Affidavit: Missing woman `strung up' on deer rack
DALLAS — An affidavit alleges that a Texas man kidnapped and tortured a 62-year-old woman by tying her to a homemade rack used for skinning deer.

The probable cause affidavit says the 58-year-old Maxwell acknowledged taking the woman at gunpoint and driving her to his home, where he "strung her up" on the rack in his garage.

Looks like they are looking at 2 cold cases now...

Cops eye 'house of horrors' suspect in 2 cold cases

Martha Martinez Maxwell first went missing in 1987 before being found beaten with her throat cut near Ardmore, Okla. She survived those injuries. Jeffrey Maxwell was charged with aggravated kidnapping in that case in 1987, but court records show a Tarrant County grand jury declined to indict him, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

Fowler also said his office will take another look at the case of a Parker County woman who has not been seen since her mobile home burned to the ground in 2000. He declined to elaborate. It's unclear if Maxwell knew that woman, but the case appears to have similarities to the recent case of the rescued woman whose house was set ablaze after she was abducted.

As they questioned Jeffrey Maxwell on Saturday about the missing woman, she ran out of the house — screaming.
"All of a sudden the door burst open, and she came rushing out screaming, 'I'm here! I'm here!'"
He said it appears that Maxwell kidnapped and then tortured the 62-year-old woman for 13 days.
"I hope I never see it again," F. said grimly. "To me, it was a house of horrors."

Thanks for the link, LMax, that is unbelievable.

How many others suffered by this man? Surely there will be more.

His MO was burning their home the night he took them. I wonder if there are other cases?

There is another woman missing from this area since last July 5 - Krishonda Townsend. There is a thread for her in the Missing Discussion forum. Shonda was only 19 went she disappeared, so I'm not sure it fits with this freak's MO. Still, it's unsettling to have so many women go missing from the same small region.

There is also a thread for Lois Pearson - the victim who was found alive earlier this week - in the Located Discussion forum.

I do hope LE is looking into all possibilities.

ALOT of new press on this case. Also bringing up Shonda and others!!

http://www.wfaa.com/news/crime/Missing-womans-family-wonders-about-kidnap-suspect-118057664.html

There's no one in Shonda Townsend's family who hasn't heard about the Jeff Maxwell kidnap case.
It's all they can think about.
Townsend disappeared mysteriously last year near her home. Maxwell's alleged kidnapped victim lives just 15 minutes away.
"Just gets in your mind, you know?" said Dalton Townsend, whose daughter vanished in July. "Just lay awake at night, wondering.
"

http://www.wfaa.com/news/local/questions-follow-kidnap-arrest-118043849.html

Investigators are looking for possible connections between accused kidnapper Jeff Maxwell and other missing persons cases in North Texas.
Maxwell is accused of abducting a 62-year-old Parker County woman and brutalizing her for nearly two weeks.
Maxwell was arrested at his home near Corsicana on Saturday; the woman was hospitalized.
The other cases date back to 1992, with the disappearance of the suspect's ex-wife, Martha Maxwell.
Then — in 2000 — Amy Smith vanished after her Parker County home burned to the ground.

I find it very interesting that L. is in protective custody. Why would that be when her kidnapper is already in custody?

It could be to protect her from herself, if she's still confused or in emotional turmoil from her ordeal.
